at least we have Bavaria as a buffer in the middle, they are neither German nor Austrian
I liked Austria, the two seconds I was there but it reminded me too much of Baden, it was rural and way too close knit for proper tourism. My fault for going to Ferlach though.

We're a complicated bunch, really rude and grumpy too, oh how I miss it. Best bread you'll ever eat in your entire life though.

Yeah it's pretty rural but it's great for the outdoor kind of fun. All major cities are nice for sightseeing, Vienna and Salzburg especially. Lots of history and you can't beat the view

Bavarians are weird. But it all goes back to the German Confederacy and the Hapsburgs. Basically, they were sort of their own thing then they went broke and became germans...more or less, there is more there historically but their basically like a...Germanic ScotlandI was always curious about the difference?
I'm not much of one for economic history though truthfully, but they were a kingdom that was integrated way back when into the German state.

But do we real want to start a discussion about which of our countries has contributed more terrible musicians?
I'm not confident that would go well for us.
No it would. When your country is responsible for Celine Dion and Justin Beiber there is no coming back from that deficit.
See you win just on that alone and that doesn't even include the 80's with platinum blonde and others. shudder.

Yes because it's vodka with some flavoring to hide the nasty.
Rum and tequila are the superior choices.
My enthusiasm for all of the above is actually pretty inclusive. Cocktails are one of my passions.

The Canadians gave us Skinny Puppy.
Don't know if the gothfather will appreciate it.. Maybe so. But they're more industrial. ![]()
Then there's Rush, of course.

How exactly are "straight (cis) white males" a majority group exactly? And what makes people think they've never been discriminated against?
The former is simple demographics, and the latter is statistics. Although "never" is a silly word.

;_; hence my abridged version, they went broke, joined the German state, I went straight to the 1800s
Fair enough. I'll just eat their desserts. Is that cool?

I don't doubt that white males do plenty of bullshit. In fact, they have.
But if I have any point, I still uphold individuality. And deal with my 5 senses rather than abstract ideologies and categories. This is what America gave me.. and I'm sure others have their own version of it.

I saw the puppies for the first time at an all ages gig in 1985 here in Vancouver and Front line Assembly two years later. DOA and Dayglo Ambotions in the same show around that time as well.

That is cool. DOA as well. I didn't go to concerts until the early 90s. You're older than I thought (compliment). Never saw a goth band... I think. Some of the goth stuff I like could probably still classify as punk (Christian Death).

I prefer going to see Ozzy, Iron Maiden and AC/DC. Others as well, but mostly the three I mentioned.

Look at gender and ethnicities of politicians, executives and most middle management positions. i don't know where you live so yeah your experience may differ but most European nations and 'white' colonial nations have white men dominating in positions of "power." So that is the principle of white males being a majority even if their actual percent of the population is well bellow 50%, their domination of said positions makes them a 'majority.' As that is what the term majority in this context actually means. I am sure if i knew what city you lived in I could research a list of politicians' names that could show a male dominance there even if i couldn't get ethnic details on them via just the name.

I like them all as well. Well, mostly Sabbath when it comes to Ozzy. And only the first 4 albums.

you should try these if you ever get the chance, not dessert but close enough. Cookie bits (but better than cookies!) covered in milk and dark chocolate.

None of that tells me that straight white men aren't discriminated against. Which was what I was asking for statistics on, but regarding politicians, they are voted into power, throughout most of Europe and North America women make up the makority of voters. Also, in case you haven't noticed, most men aren't polititions.

I'm seeing Sabbath, Maiden and Rammstein at a festival next year. I've seen Rammstein before and Maiden multiple times, but Sabbath will be a first. Can't wait!

let's be honest here, straight white men haven't been discriminated against as an entire unit except for in some very strange circumstances, such as post-independence Zimbabwe, and well that's about all I can think of... might throw in Islamic conquests of European land though that discrimination had much roe to do with religion. There have been numerous instances wher particular sub-groups have been discriminated against, one need only look at the Irish.
