Hello all! Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this.

I recently started playing the trilogy and in both ME1 and ME2 a lot of close-up shots, particularly of clothing, are very blurry. So, I decided to investigate Texmod - my PC absolutely meets the specs for ME1 and 2, so it's not a GPU issue. I also have a large monitor, but a 1980 option was available in the graphics settings menu.

Texmod does not load any textures into my game. Most of the time the game starts immediately, and even with waiting time none of the mods seem to work.

I've disabled Origin in-game, done all the re-naming of files. I tried to run compatibility mode but programs won't open.

Are there newer versions of texmod? Or am I just missing something obvious?

Thanks so much!

Just checking the obvious, you did load the TPFs into Texmod and ran the game through Texmod as well ?

Yep, I tried both opening TexMod itself and running the game from there, as well as renaming the files, opening via Origin, switching them back etc.

I was definitely in Package Mode and I loaded the .tpf files where I should. With regards to them, should I load, select them from the menu and run or just load and run?

Had to reinstall ME2 today because trying to troubleshoot compatibility with TexMod somehow stopped ME2 from running at all. I'll try downloading TexMod again (deleted all programs to ensure ME2 could install properly) today but I would like some help first.

ME1 did not work with TexMod either, and that was on Windows 10 too.

Thanks for replying!

I am having the same problem. I was trying to use TexMod on Batman, Arkham City. This isn't a solution but a clue to what might be the source of your failure. Windows 10 has it's own built-in antivirus feature called Windows Defender. As you may have learned elsewhere mods look suspiciously like malware to most antivirus programs. if you haven't loaded any other antivirus programs, Windows Defender is running silently in the background. Any way, I tried using TexMod and, like you, found the mods weren't applied. Tried again and again until when I tried to load three mods on the same try, Windows defender produced a pop up explaining that it had blocked some suspicious coding to the program I had just started. Further investigation about WD revealed that usually it just blocks possible threats without reporting to the user. WD did present a couple of boxes to check to allow the changes but I still can't get my mods to run. Maybe this will help you, maybe not.
