Hey Bioware! So on the topic of MEA since this is the new game following a new step forward into the ME universe, different story, gameplay and style of what we are used to. Is there going to be a new edition and is there anything about the N7 Collector's edition if followed with the release of MEA. Any info or non spoiler's yall can share with us about what the new edition will have as far as pre-order extra's or pre DLC items, robotic combat companion, pre ship upgrade extra's or anything that would usually follow a N7 edition of the mass effect title?

They haven't even listed pre-orders for the standard edition yet. I'm sure there will be a collectors edition, I mean.. It's Mass Effect. Probably their most popular franchise. Aside from that, there are several posts about the collectors edition.  If they announce anything, I won't expect it to be anytime soon, perhaps around E3 2016.

My guess is:

Season Pass (for MP and SP content)

Bonus rewards (possible XP boosts, armor, weapons, mods)

Short comic (similar to ME3)

Art book

*Possible* Statue of Mako (ship seen in N7 teaser trailer, or "Tempest)

Game with steelbook case with the Fem/Male version of "Ryder"

Around $120 to $250

Just my guess. But I'm not getting hyped about collector's edition just yet. Would rather get some actual insight into the game.

We shall see but I doubt it will have Season Pass, since BW stated multiple times they are against it because they don't want to be tied by it when developing DLCs. Also MP DLCs are probably going to be free since I don't see anyone here paying for MP maps.

My guess:

-Steelbox of the game with Arkproject logo

-Soundtrack of the game

-Artbook

-Andromeda galaxy (in game) map or poster

-A little weapon/armor DLC

-MP credit boost or free MP pack.

I'm not sure about statues and such. Maybe it can happen maybe it cannot.

I know for sure I'm going to get the Deluxe Edition the one with all the in-game content. This (together with the soundtrack) is basically what I want. I hope for 80$ or so. I'm not considering paying 120$ for a statue or other physical goods. Spending 250$ for a game is out of question it's half a new console.

Nice id be happy with either of those.

Hope they add a companion like they did for ME3 pre order. I liked the little robot dog lol.

But wish more then so you could use it to fight along side you. Give it a skill tree and armor and weapon attachment upgrades.

Shure, they will have a collectors edition only sold by one vendor in a few countries like the last time.  For the select in select countries and mine isn't on the selected list like last time.  Oh and that vendor like last time won't ship to other countries beyond  the border.

Would be really surprised if EA didn't fu** this up again because they really good at it.

On the bright side lots of complaints over the quality of collectors edition DAI, so will it be worth it?

DA:I was fine. People complained when in ME3 they used Javik as a pre-order incentive DLC and in DA:I they complained because there weren't enough bonus to justify a preorder. The obvious conclusion is that gamers are stupid. I hope they stick to DA:I style. No D1 story/Character DLC, only a weapon pack and MP bonus packs.

Well it depends to. I really don't care much for artbook as a extra rare thing in the collectors edition as you can find plenty of art on google images then what is put into the art book lol....Not really interested in dog tag necklace cause that will end up in a box somewhere and never used.

I hope the collectors editon has stuff that has to do with the in gameplay rather then personal material items.

Onlything I hated about past N7 editions is the junk that came with them. I prefer in game content over some poster. lol

Just from my perspective. I have enough n7 stuff to last me, my kids and grandkids and there kids kids kids for the next 5 generations D:

What the actual ****?!?

Why are you guys so eager to lock content away from those who don't want to pre-order stuff? Pre-ordering is pretty much the stupidest thing you can do as a consumer. You're throwing money at a company and saying that you don't give a **** about quality.

This is why we get so many crappy AAA titles: people buy games regardless of whether they're good or bad, and companies know they can get away with it. Stop pre-ordering games!

While I wouldn't word it quite as harshly as you, I do agree with the gist of your post. The only pre-order I ever made was the Collector's Edition of ME3. I thought to myself "hey, it's Mass Effect! What could go wrong...?"

Now I regret it as one of my most foolish consumer decisions. The fabric patch and comic book were worthless tat, (although the art book was OK, if a bit spoilery). The robot dog was a joke. I can't remember much about the bonus weapons - I think my favourite was that exploding frisbee launcher that was a cross promo with Kingdoms of Amalaur. But my biggest regret is encouraging the practice of selling a plot-important character like Jaavik, separately. Absolutely awful.

Way to early to talk about collectors edition bioware are not going to say anything silly to ask in the first place at this point.

Yep. Pre-ordering is '80s old school. Nudge it to crowdfunding ... Wait mb, then again, NOT.

The taste / ideas of the majority of players are flat as stale coca-cola.
Mb just leave them developers to concentrate on what they do best without a marketing department distracting 'em, with pre-release goodies.

Can't say it better.

After all, why bother to pre-order? Everybody must wait several months until all the patches are out to have a fully entertaining game and not a atrocious pile of crap filled with bugs, glitches and brocken mechanics.

Speaking of broken mechanics, bugs, glitches etc... I never understoob why any company doesn't take care of this before the release of a game.

Would save them the time of making patch note's and updates lol. Never makes any sense to me unless there absolutley think they have to rush there

games out. But that itself wouldnt be a problem. Time Management.

Wait, are you saying....that many people on the internet love to complain about everything!?

Surely not...

Myself, I'm prolly gonna preorder just the Deluxe edition.  Don't care what y'all say about pre-orders.  Just like with Rise Of The Tomb Raider (because I'm on PC, yay!) and XCom2.  I don't really care for Collector's Editions that much.

Since long now in game industry, DayOne patch is in the whole game creation program. They release something they KNOW is brocken but release at the same time the patch to correct it. Why will they do that? Because they don't care about the customer! Almost all of DA:I patches have destroyed fully working parts of my Xbox360 game. EAware don't care at all if they destroy fully working copies of their game so, releasing an overpriced pile of crap would not pose any problems to their soul. I'm still searching but I don't find any industry hating their consumers as most as in the video game one.

I'm a retrogamer myself and I am fully aware games of the PS360 and the XboneS4 générations won't have any value once the servers will be down : They will be atrocious.

Do yall think bioware will ever allow DA to be on backwards compatible. Like all the games? That would be sweet.

I think a good collectors edition for the game would retail $110 USD and include:

- Game Disc

- Steel Case and Standard Case

- Instruction manual and crap

- Art Book

- Extra Disc with behind the scenes documentary

- Season Pass (given typical Bioware DLC models, I'd say a $35 value would make the most sense)

- Lithograms, poster, etc.

- Collectors edition weapon skin set, casual outfit and armour set (no missions or crap like that, just a little something to show that you got the collectors edition)

- Soundtrack (would also be included in the standard edition, just like TW3)
