Hi, first time player of the trilogy. After the Cerberus attack, I went back to the Normandy after Kaidan re-joined the crew. I talked to him at the observation deck, then went back to the Presidium Commons and initated a scene where we had lunch or dinner and I think I locked in a relationship because I got the Paramour achievement afterwards.

 

I've read online that you have to wait a couple of missions and get an email/message from Kaidan to meet for this scene. Just wondering if this is normal to not get an email bc I don't want to miss anything I shouldn't (esp with relationship scenes and dialogue). Thanks!

i may be wrong but i think the email was for the lunch at the presidium and how you handle the lunch will make you lock in kaidan.
probably you missed the email and just went to lunch?

Probably you missed the e-mail like SaruDa just said. And the lock in will only happen if you pick "I feel the same way" in the lunch scene. If you pick "let's keep it friendly" I think the outcome is obvious lol

Yeah, it's kind of hard to mess up. Kaiden tells you his feelings and you do the rest. And then your hands touch, you (Shepard) orders lunch and booze and romantic music kicks in.

 

I actually liked the Kaiden gay relationship. It just feels more Kaidan-ish.

The emails can be a bit messy, in my experience. I often meet Miranda before I have even read her email. It shouldn't influence anything, unless it's one of those emails that trigger the option to invite people to your cabin (Traynor, Liara, Vega) after opening them. So if you agreed to a relationship with him, I'm sure you're fine.
