Hello,

 

I have been wondering how the actual lootsystem works in DAI, I remember a thread by Luke saying there is 15% chance for the first hakkon, 7% for the next, 4% for the third, 2% for the fourth and 1% for the fifth. But is that the chance of actually getting a Hakkon weapon or is it the chance to get a lootbucket where the Hakkons are in?

The reason I am asking this is I have reached 50 dragons with nothing to show for it (sort of) I have gotten like 3 Silencers though. I have a feeling it is a 15% chance to hit the lootbucket and 1% chance for the hakkons to actually drop? Am I completely off?

Depends on how many items you have looted in total. You can't just go into nightmare difficulty and farm dragons with a low loot score and expect to get hakkon weapons.

I know I think I am round about 1m gold, and two full sets of challenges done. I have all the ilvl 25-26s except the Hakkons. I keep getting duplicates which is sort of annoying, my 2nd Hakkon is definitely going to be a while if my drops from the dragons keep going this way.

Trust me..I know problems with that. Took me just over 600 NM Dragons to get all the Hakkons

The loot system doesn't work because randomness is completely broken in this game. What is intended to be a 15% chance could end up being 0.1% chance in reality. Just play as much as you can and pray to RNGesus (sacrifice some Highland dirks) that you'll get what you want

No you should write a letter to Bioware requesting for more mobthly challenges, so you can get Hakkons from the book rewards.

200+ Nightmares, 35+ HB and I have NEVER gotten a hakkon from a dragon, only the weekend chests.  Though I have been informed that the game officially hates me, I still should have gotten at least one.  So Either I am the unluckiest person on DAIMP or the RNG is broken.

Did we ever have a thread to name the items you wanted but never opened?  At least 1 million+ spent and I never got a Sulevin Blade.  It doesn't matter anymore, since other things are as good or better, but I've never even salvaged one.  Same for Magehunter.

Of course if you keep grinding dragons, your loot score should increase eventually.

 

I got the longsword from some sort of special chest in the summer (don't remember which one), and the staff from a dragon before that.  I am going to start farming dragons probably.  Was already grinding dragons this month anyway, albeit on the three lower difficulties to finish off those challenges.  Need a couple routine, threatening, and around 10 perilous infernos.  Fortunately the SS is pretty good at soloing the castle, even if it is slow.

You will NEVER best the Sulevin's Blade. That **** was, and always will be, amazing

I'm sorry you didn't get to experience the greatness that was the Sulevin Blade Pre-Dragonslayer. Truly was in a class of its own.

Magehunter has never dropped for me. I never got a Caliban either. 

It's not a big deal to me anymore, but I recall dumping a bunch into the class chests when they were available trying to get the Sulevin.  Reading what other people have gone through to get certain items makes me feel more fortunate for what I do have.

With the low % drop rate you might never get one from dragon. It's not cumulative.

I got my first Hakkon after 10NM dragons. Then nothing for 100+ dragons and i decided to salvage the first one i got yesterday, since it was the sword and i never play with leg/templar. Then after 10 runs or so I got the sword again and insta salvaged it again. Interesting to see if I will get it again as the next drop.

 

I have been only playing for bit over a month so i am not that frustrated with it yet. The dropdates seem ok for top weapons, but what i find stupid is that they have communicated the chances of 15%, 7% and so on since they pretty obviously are much lower in reality. I assume that this might be the loot bracket system, but it was not mentioned in the post that i saw about the droprates. I only have 500k gold collected, so it could be a factor.

 

Fortunately I got the Bosun blade and PI amulet from the challenge chest so my SS is unstoppable now and AW doesnt really need anything else that the storm pact belt to roll through everything.
