I really hope that we the player arn't the initial pilot to the new ship as it takes away the fun of having a crew memeber to tell or crack jokes or make funny comments after every mission. Lol....Can see the logic in it just sucks to take away the fun of it

If we do have another NPC as a companion, I hope they are nothing like Joker. That way they will be their own person and not Not-Joker/Joker 2.0.

Probably for the same reason some people always use a special font or color in their posts: their posts are more important and deserve to stand out.

The player technically piloted/moved the ship in the trilogy, even though Joker was the pilot. It's not a huge concern for me right now about who the pilot is, I'd like details on the story over characters at the moment.

The New Pilot is you. When it comes time for the ship to move you are the one flying the ship, literally you get in the cockpit and start steering

The Pathfinder piloting the ship wouldn't make any sense. A tank commander doesn't drive the tank. A ship captain doesn't steer the ship.

 

But yeah, we (the players) are probably going to pilot the ship to some degree. We already did in the previous two games.

Yes, they do. When all the crew fled from their posts, the Captain is the only one who mans the wheel. Laughing defiantly at Saint Elmos fires and other signs of utter doom. They have to, or they'll never catch the White Whale.

I don't really like Joker, but I don't dislike him either. He's an acquired taste. And I don't want another Joker clone piloting MY ship. I had to tell Joker a few times, the Normandy (including EDI) is MY ship.

Joker you have to admit was one of the crew that had a personality and sense of humor. Rest of the sqaud was serious/on edge most of the me2-me3 games.

Joker always had jokes though. Apart from him not being much use other then the pilot his character serve the purpous for entertainment then overall a pilot. Most people dont pay attention to that reason.

Joker was arguably my favorite character... a sarcastic misanthrope with a chip on his shoulder and iconically voiced by Seth Green. My Shepard felt close to him and took care of him as best he could over the years they were friends and traveled together.

That said, Joker's originally as a character is why he shouldn't be copied. I hope our new pilot is very different, with their own unique personality

I liked Joker but someone new and different would be nice. To be honest, out of all the things I want to know and see about MEA, the possible pilot is definitely way down on that list.
