And I fully expect that the Inquisitor will return, however I don't see them returning as the main protagonist

What I see possibly happening is duo protagonist but with the new PC getting the most focus similar to Geralt and Ciri in TW3

I also relate to TW3 when I talk about dual protagonist in DA4, but we have to remember, that The Witcher was based on Sapkowski's books. And in the books, we got to know both Geralt's and Ciri's perpective, so it makes sense that dual perspective was in the game too.

Same here.

Solas isn't nearly as smart and wise as he thinks he is. The only thing he's been able to accurately predict is that the inquisitor would follow the obvious Qunari corpse and blood trail, but as has been said before: anyone would have done so. The romances do present a problem though. Personally I'd be fine with no romances (maybe a letter or a mention here or there if you romanced someone in the previous game) if it meant a better story but I know a lot of people wouldn't feel the same.

:[ Even Fallout 4 had romances... Poorly designed, but still...

Ugh, I consider dual protagonist a minimum. It would be such a waste of an opportunity to keep the protagonist :/ .

..How?

The books have nothing to do with the choice to make both Geralt and Ciri playable

Are you basing your answers on knowledge or guessing... The books have a lot to do with the game. Here is the article (in polish, so you will have to use google translator): http://gry.onet.pl/w...postacia/q9hkl

"Wiedźmin 3: Dziki Gon ma zamykać wątki fabularne rozpoczęte w pierwszej części gry. Historia z cyfrowych przygód wiedźmina to pewna osobna całość, silnie jednak związana z oryginałem. Wszyscy, którzy czytali książki Sapkowskiego wiedzą, jak niezwykle ważną rolę w fabule odgrywała Ciri i dlatego jej pojawienie się w trzeciej części gry wydaje się nam tak znaczące."

Hum, maybe it's just my impression, but I realized that outside Poland, people forget about the importance of Sapkowski's books. Tbh, in Italy I asked some of my friends about A.S. and they did not even know that it was not CD Projekt that "invented" Geralt, but A.S. Meanwhile, in Poland, it is obvious to everyone that The Witcher (including different perspectives) is Sapkowski's idea and CD Projekt .... let's say... "exploited" this idea. Like in the book, you would not fully understand the plot without Ciri's perspective and developers admitted that.

Your misreading what I wrote

I'm fully aware of the books but they have nothing do with the choice of dual protagonists

*sigh*

What I'm trying to say is that you bringing up the books have nothing to do with what I'm talking about in regards to dual protagonists

Reminds me of Halo 5: Guardians. John was still a protagonist, and was more connected to the events happening, and Locke was also a protagonist, and was more a fresh perspective. The game had the majority of missions involve Locke, and a few involve John. In this case, the Inquisitor would be John and the new PC would be Locke.

And in this case the Inquisitor will be connected to Solas while the new PC will also be connected to Solas in probably someway along with the rest of the game

Sadly Bethesda neglected its' own strengths to try and be a watered down version of BioWare while BioWare was doing the same thing with their open world. >_<

I know this wasn't to me but I share Green's perspective of a dual protagonist being like a bare minimum of what I'd want. I liked how TW3 did dual protagonists because it worked for the story (one tracking the other) and the fact that the two had a strong connection to each other (father/daughter). I really think dual protagonists is the least likely though. For one, it would make the story harder to keep track of and would encourage a linear game (something I think BioWare should switch to but I doubt they will) and that would also mean paying 6 voice actors for the protagonist (4 for the Quiz and 2 for the n00b). I think a new protagonist is the most likely and any conflict with Solas will be treated with the same level of care, detail, intrigue, and general storytelling as the mage/templar "war" was in DA:I.

At most, I expect the Inquisitor to be an NPC/questgiver like Hawke was.

Some people actually want the Inquisitor's adventuring days to be over.
