There are countless threads repeating similars arguments and debate already.
Though I do also want inquisitor as protagonist and I understand very well the urge,

But man, this is getting annoying. Very, Very Annoying.

Dude, if it is annoying then do not come here to spread your negativity. Really, no need.

I guess all the people who think you can't be an action protagonist with one arm have never seen Mad Max or Star Wars... Or haven't seen the design pictures where it was fully considered for Iron Bull to have one arm, or read the comic where somebody lost an arm and then grew it back with magic!

Inquisitor for DA4 please!  :)

That's how the forums are. At least it's not another romance thread! (Just wait...) Now that DAI is officially over, I think we will see these threads occasionally crop up until the reveal of the next game.

You seem to have forgotten that Gaider's no longer with the writing team. There is a chance that Weekes may not let your fantasy come true.

I doubt it...This is what David Gaider said :

And the rest of that plot arc still exists. So, it's now in Patrick Weeks hands. Good luck, buddy! Good luck going the rest of the distance! And we'll see how he does that.

Thaaaaaank you! Finally. People are always quick to complain and slow to share enthusiasm. Dropped a huge like under your comment.

Ugh, no easy fix, please.

I wouldn't like it either, just showing it has happened before in Thedas, so it is a solution that has already been shown to exist!

Personally, I want a badass looking prosthetic arm that would effectively put you back to level 1 so you have to learn how to fight again. No new arm, no magic to help, make the loss something we can see the Inquisitor working to overcome over the course of the game.

Well i came into this one thinking "not another one of these", but you've really gone the extra mile with your dedication. Give it a week or so and we'll get a similar one with the people who don't want the Inquisitor back.

We can only hope. With luck, something as comprehensive as this will at the very least make them think about it. The two sides to this debate are "I can see where this could bring the story and it will be awesome" and the others "I can't see it, we should have a new PC and their story will be awesome". Debate 1) Based primarily on the fact we know Solas' story will conclude next and want the Inquisitor there and 2) Consider Inquisitors story over, never got to know Solas, just like new PC's

Be prepared for negativity, though. There is a small number of people who just insult, rather than give constructive feed back.

(bloody hell the Inquisitor is far ahead in that one)

I'd rather get more info on DA4 before requesting my Inquisitor take up his bow again.

Well, the problem that I have with repeat threads is that the responses eventually get so watered down because people dislike, or tire of, rehashing their same arguments or opinions on whatever the issue is. For the first couple of these threads I posted my opinion and shared my preference, and went back and forth with some folks about the arm thing and so on. I don't really see the point of doing so again.

The same thing happened with DA2 and the unending mage/templar debate, and some of the other hot-button DA2 issues -- "all bi" romances, the dialogue wheel, paraphrases, etc. I've gotta hand it to the devs though... they actually did pop in on many of the dialogue threads, even if it was to reiterate some of their previous statements. Of course, they don't come here anymore because they were abused, and we clearly showed we couldn't have nice things, so that's the end of that.

Spread negativity? I'm just stating facts and, expressing my feelings on it. And I'm sure my opinion isn't the minority. I don't mean hostile. My complaint lies on the repeating arguments and debate, if you come up with something new, as I'm also pro-inquisitor, I would absolutely appreciate and encourage it.

I see you highlighted the phrase "leave kind and positive comments". I know the phrase is to those who want inquisitor as protagonist, but with issue itself, whether inqui should be protagonist or not so controversial, you can't expect absolute zero negative comments, or opposing comments.

Yeah, true. I would be tired too, though I think that there are always new users who do not wanna go to a 3 months old post to talk or share their opinions. Also, I started this #BringBackTheInquisitor thing because I was looking for websites promoting the Inquisitor as a protagonist for DA4 and I could not find anything. I saw only single articles or forum threads. So it is something new. But yup... I was not expecting we would debate over the arm all over again. As I wrote in my post, I was hoping I could collect some kind comments.  -_-

Yeah, I know. As I wrote in my previous post a second ago. I did not come here to debate anything (the arm for example). I clearly stated that this thread is for Inquisitor fans and that it exists so everybody who agrees with the idea of bringing back the Inquisitor could write a kind comment to support the cause. It was also supposed to inform that it would be great if we could all use one hashtag.
I saw some articles about bringing back the Inquisitor, some threads, but I have not yet found a website that could promote the idea. So I am not being repetetive. There are not many topics like "Hey, I created a website, I have an idea for a hashtag, I want to collect your friendly comments and it would be great if you could vote for the Inquisitor". You know what I mean?

I wouldn't have a problem playing the Inquisitor again especially with AWR's voice. I'm sure she wouldn't have a problem voicing the character again.

If that doesn't happen, it won't bother me

Playing as the Inquisitor again is a silly idea, and you're deluding yourself if you think it's possible to play as a character THAT DOESN'T HAVE AN ARM ANYMORE! Why do you all fail to understand that, in an action RPG, the character you play as needs both arms! Get this into your heads!

I don't know. I hate Star Wars.

Or seen the slide in Trespasser which shows Inquisitor with crossbow arm.

I'm not against the return of anything, but dragon age is not about the story of a hero, it's about a time and place in thedas.

And if anyone should come back it's the warden, he/she is objetively the best character, sorry.

I'm sorry but I don't want to play as a deaf mute again. :P

Besides on that argument I'd rather play Hawke again.  Though the Inquisitor is a close second.

I really don't get people's anger towards post like this. I get its annoying to see them pop up often, but ignoring the posts might be a better option than leaving angry comments.

As for the idea, personally I would like to either play the inquisitor again or dual, the reason for that is that I would like to save Solas as my inquisitor. Saving him on a new character makes no sense to me, as we had an option to "redeem" or "kill him" in Trespasser, doing that on a new character would feel rather odd, having someone else do your promise to Solas.

Plus, I romanced him in one play-through and I would very much like to beat some sense into that egg head, lol.

As for the arm debate, it makes sense Bioware gets rid of it as a way of saying "No arm = not playable" but in some people's play-through Leliana dies in DA:O, but for some reason gets resurrected with little to no explanation as to why. So, if Bioware is willing to resurrect characters, I am sure they can come up with a reason as to why the inquisitor suddenly has an arm, be it magic or the anchor returning for some reason.

It all depends on how Bioware will processed with this, they might not even make anymore, tho if that is the case I believe they would need to fortify their office as angry fans are in-coming, lol.

Truth be told, from what I can read of the interviews from the developers and in-game options. Solas will make an appearance in the next game, should they make a new one. However, Mike Laidlaw said in an interview that "with Dragon Age, we’ve always been committed to providing an experience that has chapters, with new protagonists and news stories being told, because we see it as a series about a time and a place rather than an individual character. That sentence is what makes me think that we will not play our inquisitor, if we did, it would be the first time Dragon Age features the same playable character in two games, which I don't think they will break away from. Dual is possible tho.

I keep wondering why they don't make an expansion pack with this story. Sounds like they got all they need in order to make one and the story would be big enough to fill it out. It would solve most problems they are facing now. We get to deal with egg head with our inquisitor and Bioware doesn't have to worry about whenever they should let us play as a character we already have in their next game.

Guess we just have to wait and see.

Interview source. For those who are interested.

I admire your passion for your Inquisitor and his story :)

For me, I would gladly accept my Inquisitor as a counselor or mentor for the new hero for I like this idea.
