Can't believe I haven't noticed this before, but what does it actually do?

iirc, I actually read something about it not so long ago, about it being just the blackness when you open a door.

Example;

When you open a door, behind the door is just black. You click on the opened door to enter the transition.

Invisible transition = There's no door, but just the blackness which you click on.

I THINK it's that, though I'm sure I'm probable wrong lol I was curious myself and found some information on it, but it wasn't needed for me, so I didn't try to keep it in mind xD
