Oh gosh, I have no idea where to start! Can I get philosophical for a moment and say that with the sheer vastness of the universe, the illusion and reality of time, because our lives are merely a blink...couldn't the entirety of the Mass Effect series count as a moment from a certain perspective? Or a fraction of one? ...Yes? I'll go with that moment then x)

...also this:

Never gets old.  ^_^  :P

My all time favourite moment from the ME trilogy is the citadel run from the end of the first game.  When you come out of the conduit and fall out of the mako, deal with the geth and ride the elevator up.  Just when you think, "I'm heading into the final fight" the elevator stops.  Wasting no time shepard just says, "Suit up!" and blows out the window.  Every time the camera pans outside and views the closed citadel.. it's incredible.  To me, it's awe inspiring (the citadel) and demonstrates the persistence and undeniable will of shepard.

That said, so may excellent moments mentioned in this thread.  Mordin's final scene, the shifty cow, talking with sovereign and harbinger, etc.  I think my second favourite moment (also comes from the first game) is the drop on Ilos.  When your crew is just arguing and fighting within itself and shepard just quiets everyone as joker says, "I can do it".  Amazing.

I'm partial to ME1 for all my memorable moments.  Probably because I was completely blown away by it at the time (and still).  For me it has the best ambient sounds and music in the trilogy.  ME3 has the best sound effects though.  After battlefront, I'm excited to hear ME:A.

I have several favorite moments, but my  number 1 is talking with Harbinger. I might post my other favorite moments later.

For me it's when Wrex confronts Shepard about sabotaging the cure for the genophage. You can try to make him understand that what he was doing wouldn't work in the long run, that the krogan as a species truly isn't ready, and he just keeps raging against the injustice of it all. And then you have to kill him to keep him quiet. For some reason his anger and frustration makes it hit even harder than having to shoot Mordin.

Out of all the companions I've always respected Wrex the most for being both a pragmatic badass and visionary fighting for his people, breaking their conventions and forcing them to change on such a scale. Imagine one person leading an entire generation of humanity into reversing the tide of industry and trying to clean the atmosphere. That's what Wrex is to the krogan.

Garrus and Shepard have more in common, but Wrex is definitely the closest thing Shepard has to an equal and on some levels what he's doing is far more impressive and admirable than anything Shepard does in the series. And you're forced to break his dream, kick his people back into their place and kill him to save the universe. It's the most beautiful and terrible thing I've ever done in a game.

I think curing the Genophage and uniting the Quarian and Geth were amazing, as well as Kalros, but to me nothing comes as close as the Suicide Mission in ME2 and that amazing music as you get to the final fight. You can just tell this is it and the whole time you're hoping your crew survived. I was never more involved as a player than in those moments. This is what a Captain/Commander does. Gives orders, watches her crew follow them and hopes she made the right choices knowing they trust her and will follow her to the death if need be.

There's a lot of favorite moments for me.

Just to be a punk, I'm going to say that I love pretty much every time the Leviathans talk in their DLC. It's like they gargled ground glass, rusty metal, and the blood of the unborn.

I'd say the best "moment" for me consists of everything from Virmire: Assault (mission), passing by Ilos: Find the Conduit (mission) to the entire Race Against Time final arc up to the fight against Saren. For me, Mass Effect took all its significance there. And my favorite section within that moment will probably always be the conversation we have with Vigil. So, essentially, the last 4 hours or so of ME1.

This one's kind of out of left field but...the standout moment for me personally was the bridge at the very end of Thane's recruitment mission.

2 was the first ME I ever played and while I had thoroughly enjoyed myself up to that point, something about that section really made it all "click" for me. The atmosphere, the scenario, the visuals, the epic music, the power-high from hearing trained mercenaries scream in terror as I slaughtered them left and right.......it all came together in that moment and I was hit with the sudden realization that this franchise really was as awesome as everyone said. If I had to word my thoughts from that moment it would be something along the lines of "this is a ridiculously epic game and I'm playing as a ridiculously epic badass".

My favorite moment was ME1's credit rolling. It felt like the conclusion of the most awesome movie I'd seen. It's a shame they didn't go for the movie credit style in each game.

On a more personnal note, being contacted by the Shadow Broker in ME1 is the ME1 scene that always come to my mind when I think about the game. I didn't expect it and it felt great. I also remember taking my time with that decision thinking about how going one way or the other would bite me in the next game. It was the first time in the game I really felt the scale of this multi-game project and how each big decisions could have important consequences. Unfortunately they destroyed that moment later on with the Shadow broker DLC.

I like all of those. Except ME2's opening. Lazarus project was stupid.

To me, the best moment was leaving Vancouver at the beginning of ME3.  The musical score fit perfectly while you watched helplessly as a Reaper destroys the fleeing shuttles. I found it very moving.

No ones mentioned speaking to Vigil. That was a big one for me. But a converstation with Sovereign is probably the biggest.

Another of the best moments for me was discovering the identity of the Collectors as huskified Protheans. Of all the plot twists in the Shepard trilogy, that was the one that caught me by the most surprise. I forsaw Sovereign being a Reaper, a forsaw a situation similar to the Catalyst as in a final discussion with the Reapers, but the Collectors being Protheans caught me offguard, and I love it for that. I also love the atmosphere the scene has, like the ominous and creepy designs and sound.

Virgil conversation was awesome. Finding out the truth about the Citadel, and the reapers. I loved it. I forgot about that. I need to reshuffle my top 15 now.

Even better when done in armour :P

Mine is probably the intro to Mass Effect: the way Shep moves through the ship with the music building up and you then get the final reveal of her face.. and you quit straight back to the character creator to start again.

I know, it was great, and the MUSIC... sigh :) And hearing that music return in ME3. Amazing.

Seeing Joker above, I'm reminded of the Collector takeover of the Normandy, playing as Joker, him freaking out, seeing the crew being captured, massive gliding shadows on the wall, terrified, terrified, TERRIFIED, WHAT IS GOING?!??!!

Gah.
