I have played ME2 though a million times without problems.  Now I try to play using windows 10 OS, and I get crash after crash, .exe is not responding/stopped working.

Please don't tell me that ME2 will not play under windows 10?  I am playing 100 year old games on windows 10 perfectly as well as the aging ME1.

I am applying all that 'run as administrator' rubbish, but to no avail.  I mean they can't have dropped support for the game already can they?  It's still sells well I would imagine.

If EA/Bioware cannot ensure that these classic games can run on todays OS, then they should remove the games from sale, or state that they will only run under MS DOS and windows 3.1.

It certainly is annoying. It crashes when I'm just standing around. ME 1 worked just fine. ME 2 crashes all the time. I have to now save every couple minutes...

yeah, why would the system requirements of a game released in 2010 dont list operational systems which were released years later...

I'm on Windows 10, and have little to no issue with crashes - its way better at these games than Win 7 was.  Check and make sure your Windows is full updated.

This seems to be the way of it.  I have noticed when searching for solutions that for every person having problems, there is a similar person having none.  Still the game has problems, and does require further attention if they mean to carry on selling it that is.  It is not enough that it works for 50% of players, it should work error free for all who hand over money for the game.

I'm on Windows 10 and the only time it crashes is in ME3 for me during the turret scenes sometimes. Try making it compatible with another system by right clicking your game, selecting properties and then click the compatibility tag.

If you load a previous save in and do it differently you can usually get by most crash's

I have tried other compatibility setting without result.  It seems more to be certain parts of the game under certain situations, like if you do Kasumi's loyalty mission first thing in the game it always crash's at the end of mission.  It's just a very buggy game if you don't follow the required path.

I hope it gets all straightened out.  Crashing games is quite frustrating.

I don't know if this has been suggested? Can you run the game in windows 7 compatibility mode? Example...

Are you running it in fullscreen mode? ME2 crashes for me in Windows 7 unless I run it windowed or borderless windowed mode. I just wondered if you might have similar issues in Windows 10.

I am in full screen yes, but strangely enough I have not had another crash for about 6 to 8 hours, were at first I was getting one crash after another, and the only thing I seem to have changed between then and now, would be the direction I was taking the story.  This is all very odd.  Maybe they patched it last night.  :)

I have all compatibility settings off except for run as admin, as changing them made no difference to the crashes I was having.

I wonder, does it have something to do with starting a new game?

The November update for Win 10 removed permissions from the user account in a lot of cases.
Look in the properties>security for the game folder & your user\documents folder & make sure your username has full control.

Yes I seem to have full control.  This is weird though, I have not had another crash since the day before yesterday, they just seemed to have stopped without me doing a darn thing.  I'm not complaining, but it is strange.  :)

Have you had a video driver update? These can happen automatically...
and don't forget the Task Manager performance tab: if some process is consuming excessive memory it can be a big problem for ME3

Here's a rather simple guide to basic troubleshooting:

but I'm glad to hear to hear you've recovered :)

I had updated my video card drivers, but that was before my problems started.

I made a few adjustments to things like sound setting etc. But none of these made any difference.  As I have already said, the only thing I changed that seemed to make a difference was in the direction I took the story and it sort of cured itself.
