I'm re-doing my first of six playthroughs and i've started thinking about world states going into Awakening.

I recall that Landsmeet is semi bugged and tends to set Alistair as king if he isn't executed. I also know that the surviving NPC GW is supposed to meet you after you do the intro part of Awakening, which brings me to this question.

Do I have to execute Alistair to keep him from showing up in Awakening if Loghain is dead? I know at one point I had Alistair do the Ult Sac and he still showed up in Awakening, but that was either in 1.02 or 1.03.

You can exile him. He won't show up (AFAIK)

Yeah it's strange how Warden!Loghain will show up but Warden!Alistair won't. I guess Anora had Alistair exiled right after the coronation to prevent him/Eamon from attempting a coup.

My  female warden kills that asp of a man Loghain , makes Alistair King and has him to marry Anora and in Awaking she tells Alistair she's less then happy about being there and were it possible she would probably slap him for kissing her.. She can be such a spitfire at times.

I don't understand all this needless killing when there's only two real killings to be done in Denerim-Loghain  and his henchman Howe..

Between the comments here and the wiki, I think the cameo might be scripted as "Loghain if he lives, ruler if Loghain is dead".
