I'd really like to see this happen, the blights affect all of Thedas so Tevinter is no exception, and aside from Dorian I'd really like to see someone from Tevinter who isn't a mustache-twirling black-hat slaver or a mage. Also a Tevinter Warden ended the second blight, so it'd be cool to see some in-game non-mage good guy 'Vints.
Tevinter GW ally for DA4

Fenris.
Though I suppose you mean a human, or at least a non-slave...

Yes a human, definitely not Fenris.

I'd rather have one of the Tevinter mage-hunters as a companion than a Tevinter Grey Warden. If we get another Grey Warden companion, I'd rather they be one of the ones from the Anderfels.

One of the mysterious praesumptor would be interesting, perhaps Tevinter Legionaries and of course Magisters who aren't just mustache twirling villains. but ultimately I hope the writers do indeed make a complete or near complet break from southern Thadas.
I want to see things from the Tevinter point of view and learn more about northern Thadas and ancient humanity with Tevinter being the perfect place being the heartland and home of the oldest human civilization on Thadas.

I actually want to see a blood Mage Tevinter for once. Dorian was too goodie two shoes (in a good way) I just want to see the bad part of Tevinter Magisters.
I think after their total retreat from whatever insane morals Morrigan had in DAO, we won't see a companion who's anywhere near that type of evil again.

Yes, a companion from the Anderfells seems long overdue. (Sure, Anders technically counts, but he literally never talks about it.) People from the Anderfells have a unique perspective on Grey Wardens, and it would be nice to explore that.

No more Grey Wardens or grey Warden wannabes. I'm kinda tired of them. But I do want a more pragmatic Tevinter companion whose deep in the cut throat political realm of Tevinter. Dorian was great but I felt he was only supposed to represent the good side of Tevinter. I want to see the wild evil decadence of Tevinter, blood magic, slaves, and all. But I highly doubt we will get it. Tevinter will probably be Southern Thedas but less cold with some old buildings scattered about. BW sucks at world building.

Sorry to say but Grey Wardens are an integral part of the Dragon Age universe, so long as there are Darkspawn, Blights and Archdemons there will always be Grey Wardens; TLDR - they're not going anywhere. I do agree with the pretenders, no need for another Thom Rainier, I want a badass warden ally who does not jump to blood magic at the first opportunity.

And right now there are no Archdemons, blights or darkspawn. The GW no longer serve a narrative purpose so I'm ready for the writers to be done with them until they bring back the darkspawn.

I'm personally hoping for Razikale and Lusacan to be awakened simultaneously - it would be fitting for the dragon of mystery to mysteriously awaken at the same time that the dragon of night rises. If this was to happen then we'd seriously need some GW, particularly if the final battle involved fighting them both simultaneously.

I think that I would like that plot, however I don't think it will happen, Solas has already the main bad guy post and two Archdemons at the same time is something too big to be left as a secondary mission or a DLC, besides, if Old Gods happen to be Great Dragons, then Razikale is already awake without the taint, which basically skips a whole Blight.

Didn't Mike Laidlaw once defend the decision to make sweeping changes in DA2 by saying that stapling two archdemons together and calling it a Super Blight would be boring?
Mind you, I'm pretty sure we're going to be seeing Razikale, at the very least. They were name-dropping the name all through JoH, Trespasser, and even Descent, so I figure they're warming us up for it. Besides, Razikale's burial place is said to be under Tevinter somewhere, so that would make sense.
As for the original topic, I get the feeling that at least part of the request stems from a desire to make the Grey Wardens relevant again. It's understandable. Many of us got this idealized impression of them in DAO when we played as one, and then they were almost completely absent from DA2, and what we did hear about them was a lot more morally ambiguous than many of us wanted to hear. Then DAI rolled around and that moral ambiguity gave way to outright pragmatism. We saw how they will do anything to stop Blights, full stop. It left some folks feeling disillusioned and maybe even betrayed. Blackwall didn't help there, I'm afraid.
I can understand the desire to reclaim some pride in the order, but I'm not sure that's possible. The reason so many folks are soured on the Wardens isn't because we haven't explored their organization, it's because we have. The mystique is gone. We now know who they are, what they're about, and why they do the things they do. It isn't always noble.
That said, I wouldn't mind a Warden companion. A real Warden, complete with Warden senses and an impending Calling. I'd want him or her to be frank about his or her agenda and maybe a little fatalistic and aloof. I wouldn't necessarily give this potential follower priority over other character concepts, but it could work, as long as nobody tried to sugar-coat it.
Edit: Regarding said Grey Warden eschewing blood magic, why would they? Duncan himself has no aversion to it as a means to an end, and he was raised in Ferelden, where blood magic is forbidden (although his Rivaini parents might not have minded as much). I would think that a Grey Warden who grew up in a society that viewed blood magic as a necessary part of their culture would have few qualms about its use.

I think I'd be happy if in DA4, the Grey Wardens were a bit like they were in DA2. Hardly ever seen and not really connected to the main plot... unless of course the main plot IS about Darkspawn and Deep Roads. ![]()
Add in a little Grey Warden outpost somewhere early in the game where you can chat briefly with two Wardens on guard, pick up a few codex entries, then go on your way would be fine for me personally. If they're not doing stupendously stupid things like becoming puppets of a Darkspawn Magister, then between Blights the Order is just meant to survive and continue passing down tradition. Waiting vigilantly.
Don't get me wrong, I both like and respect the Grey Wardens. I just don't think they should be particularly active on the surface between Blights.

I would like the Wardens to be relevant again yes, but I specified "Tevinter Warrior" warden because I wanted to see someone from Tevinter who isn't a homicidal blood-mage, a slaver, or a typical mustache-twirling goon.

Yea it's true during a warden's downtime they're supposed to remain vigilant and recruit new members even if another blight isn't for another 100 years they will still need an order and if the time comes for Razikale to become an archdemon then we need a fresh order that has been preparing not stagnating.

I think he was supposed to represent the sane side of Tevinter. Just like they worked toward portraying Morrigan as a sane human being instead of whatever screw-y and irrational morality they gave her in DA2. We'll very likely see a darker portrayal for Tevinter, but one that actually looks like a sane and functional society, versus one for the evilz lolz ala Fenris' oppressors in DA2.
