I was pretty frustrated by the vagueness of Morrigan's warnings at the end of Witch Hunt, and how the DLC didn't provide many answers. It's like the writers wanted to make it intriguing and mysterious but instead made it aggravating.

Fortunately for me, Inquisition had already been released by the time I finished Witch Hunt. I looked up a spoiler to find out what happened to Morrigan and her son.

The Trespasser DLC was much better at keeping me captivated.

Ah, this is tricky.  You have to look it up, but what you need to do is import your dead warden, then use a console command.  You need to import your old warden to carry over the save file plot flags from Origins.  The only way to do that is with your dead warden.   Then, after the initial cutscene use a console command to go back to the character creator where you can make a new Orlesian Grey Warden.

That way you have your save, but a new warden character instead of your dead one.

It's easy I think, haven't done it yet myself as I only play Awakenings with surviving Wardens, here's a youtube vid describing how to do it -

Also, if you currently have 100% approval with Oghren make sure you buy a bajillion cakes from Bodhan at camp if you have feast day gifts DLC.  At 100% his approval gets fucked in Awakening and won't scale properly thru the game, so the cakes stay in your inventory and are very handy to boost him back up again.

I thought the Feast Day items didn't transfer into Awakening? They never did on my PS3. I only tried the companion-specific ones, though, not the cakes. I actually instead gave Oghren his feast day gift in DAO to boost his approval enough to get his personal quest, but kept all of his vanilla game gifts until DAOA and gave them all then. It's aggravating how many bugs they left in the expansion.

DAO DLC was mostly a bust for me.  While I enjoyed the in game DLCs (Wardens Peak, Stone Prisoner) and Leliana's Song, I had little love for the remaining bunch.  Legacy DLC for DA2 was my favorite until Trespasser was released.

I played through WH on a couple wardens.  My Surana and my Queen Cousland (who both romanced Alistair) followed up on a lead about his son/Morrigan to see if they were okay (they were close friends).  My King Cousland followed her to learn the fate of his child, and again, if Morrigan needed anything, though he was not about to abandon Anora, Leliana and Ferelden to follow her and made this his parting of the ways.

I assumed the DLC was for those who romanced her tbh, so they could get their closure to the romance, but not much else there for those who were just mates.  I guess it depends on what you take from it.  Friend of mine also went after Morrigan because she abandoned them right before the final battle and her love, Alistair had died, so she was going for "payback".

Since a handwaved living US'ed PC is kind of already anti-lore, I can't imagine they would have an issue with her, since the game assumes you did the DR if you imported a 'dead' warden who shouldn't be.

The "changes" she talks about I assumed (by the time I played DA2) to be the mage rebellion and things to come with sequels and the Chantry which will continue to have an impact on the world of Thedas.  The book, in all actuality considering the events of Inquisition I assume to be clues leading to the warden's quest to find a cure for the taint.  But that's all supposition based on what's in the games.  I could be barking totally up the wrong tree.

Unless my game is broken, the Feast Day items (including the cakes/gifts/onions/coal) do not import into DAA on PC either.

Ah okay, I've only played Awakening once as I'm not that keen on it personally, and came up against that stupid Oghren approval bug.  I used console commands to up his approval but read that if you put cakes in your inventory in Origins you can just give him those.  I'm planning on trying that in my next playthrough but haven't actually tested it myself yet.  I like your idea of keeping his vanilla game gifts for DAOA, I'll try that instead.

And yep, it's super annoying trying to navigate the Origins DLCs, taking through to DA2 in the right order but then DA2 not recognising your approvals from Origins arrrgghhhhgivemestrength

Yeah the bugginess of DAOA is the worst thing about it for me. I enjoy the general premise, even though it does feel rushed, but I really have to concentrate when playing it in order to avoid the worst bugs. (Velanna's quest, lyrium bombs, losing equipment in Silverite mines, etc.)

For me, the only non-vanilla items which transfer over are the three reward items from the other DLCs which were released after Awakening. Everything which was from the base game wasn't made compatible to transfer to Awakening, AFAIK. This includes anything from RtO, Stone Prisoner, Feast Day, Wardens Keep.

It's a variant for a romanced Morrigan.  It reportedly has an impact on Inquisition and probably on Witch Hunt as well, but I've never romanced her so I can't say for sure.

If the Warden slept with Morrigan but refused the Dark Ritual, she was acidentally pregnant (ooops) and Kieran is in DAI. However, he is a perfectly normal boy and thus has different dialogue which is too precious.

Old God Kieran:

K- Mother didn't tell me the Inquisitor was a dwarf.

DI- You got me. And here I was trying so hard to be taller.

K- But you can't be taller. Not without the Titans.

Normal Kieran:

K- Mother didn't tell me the Inquisitor was a dwarf.

DI- You got me. And here I was trying so hard to be taller.

K-I know how you feel.

Anyway, Witch Hunt is my favorite DLC ever but I acknowledge that is solely because Morrigan is my favorite character in the entire franchise. For people who are idifferent or don't like her, it has little to offer.

I liked the Witch Hunt but it was a little bit weird to play it because I had played the main game so that my PCs had promised not seek Morrigan and they actually thought not to do that but since I wanted to play the DLC they just went looking for her.

Being a massive HoF fan I bought the Witch Hunt dlc and the only redeeming feature I found was the specialisation tome you can purchase and talent/spell tome you can get at the circle. (thus 4 specialisations for HoF). Lorewise ehh.

It's not really anti-lore. It's simply broken :P

It all works out once you import into DA2 at least. Warden is dead, but your DLC playthroughs count as Warden Commander.

Anyways, it's a bust for me too. I only play Awakening now. Witch Hunt in particular is kind of useless to me since I don't romance her.

Doh!!!   Through the magic of modding, my female city elf warden romanced Morrigan before dumping her for Leliana.  (Leliana pushed the issue; the Polygamey mod didn't work...)  It should be interesting to see if the miraculous product of a lesbian relationship looks elven!

The only thing i'd recommend against stuff like that is you're going to go to screw DAKeep info. Err.. or it's just not going to be valid.

Morrigan wanted to kill your City Elf's dad, for a mere +1 Con. I don't think the romance would work personally. Is that better than Vaughn? :P

Keep won't recognize modded game content that breaks lore too much (gay Morrigan/Alistair romances, Marrying Alistair on a mage/dwarf/elf/male warden etc).  I would think producing a natural, biological child with two women wouldn't be possible, even in Thedas and you will get an error warning in tapestry when trying to create it (though I'd be curious if it's possible anyway).  Also, Kieran looks exactly the same regardless of who the father is.  To me, he favors Morrigan more than any of the potential warden daddies.

I may ultimately have to do yet another playthrough!  At the time, I didn't think it would cause problems because I didn't plan on doing the DR.  Oh well....

Regarding the video above on how to use the world state created by your US, what is the command you have to type in to call up the character generator for you Orlesian warden commander?

To bad really. My Morrigan romance was with a Dwarf. Would've tought he mentioned that when meeting a Dwarf Inquisitor, oh well. Save imports and all that.

I'd take a look at the video above. I haven't tried it myself.

If you have to use the console though, that's a whole other step. Just search "DAO console" and it should direct you to the Wiki. It's fairly easy.

I see your point, but I feel like it could be meaningful even if you don't romance her or do the DR. For my canon Warden, it enabled him to check on her, make it extra clear that he had never had feelings for her ("That 'beautiful woman' line I used when I gave you the mirror?  It's true you're beautiful, but you'd already killed off my interest in a relationship when you said the Circle mages deserved the Rite of Annulment.") and generally make sure she wasn't interested in pursuing him any longer.

I didn't know you could say something detailed like that. That's cool. Are there other things you can accuse her of? Or is this headcanon? lol

I think it's worth playing at least once for the items.

I'm on PC.  In listening to the vid, I hear something like "chargen 0" as the command he recommends.  I tried looking up commands on the net and got "runscript chargen 0".  I tried typing that in, but it didn't pull up the character generator.  So, my US warden lives again and is now in pursuit of talking darkspawn who look strangely similar to "Skeletor" from the old "HeMan:  Masters of the Universe" cartoons/toys.  It should be interesting to see how things will gel with DA II.

I'd like to help, but I'd have to install the game again.

It's possible that the command is slightly different. The commands tend to start with a "zz_". For example, "runscript zz_money 300000".

Perhaps "chargen" needs to be "zz_chargen" with the "0" for the value.

Also, do you have the mod that makes console commands visible? It'll be easier on you.

In addition to that, you need to edit the Settings file in your Bioware folder that handles key commands. If you haven't already done that. This enables the console in the first place. In addition, you have to set "-enabledeveloperconsole" in your app's properties. If you have Origin, right click on DA app to do this. If you've already done this, ignore me. ;)

It's all a pain in the ass really... but I assure you it'll work fine once you import into DA2, if you don't want to go through this.

Oh, and last but not least, be sure to remove the -enabledeveloperconsole command once you're done. If you don't, your playthrough doesn't upload to the DAKeep for some reason. lol

It's not inherently high approval in origins, but approval from gifts. His gift counter doesn't reset in Awakening, so you miss out on 10 potential approval from gifts, and you have to get pretty much every point possible to get his personal quest.

That makes sense.  I didn't know till late on in Awakenings and was so freaking frustrated.  It was too late to get all his approval points, and honestly referring to the wiki to make sure I get all those points is immersion breaking for me, it takes the fun out of the game to have to pre-prep and spoiler every quest thinking 'Wait!  Which option should I click to make Oghren happy?'

That's when I learnt how to use the console for the first time.  Also the fact that a 100% Oghren who loved me to bits in DAO went down to 50% automatically, even tho he was super glad to see my Warden, pissed me off

I just want to say.. I like your avatar :D I can't tell if that's an elf or human though.. ?

But yeah, Oghren is a ****** to boost approval. There's times where I failed, even by bringing some old gifts from DAO.

He's just so much more irascible in DAA, it's like he was holding back all of his bitterness and frustration throughout DAO and now is letting it out. He just seemed like a much more bitter and angry version of himself. I never thought he was implemented well in DAA. He could have made sense but he was wasted. No pun intended
