Can't trigger his "Revelations" quest I figured it was due to low approval or something, as I have already completed Here Lies the Abyss and Wicked Hearts and Wicked Eyes. So I decided to take him to The Descent to kill some darkspawn and get some approval. But been killing quite a lot so far and he hasn't gotten approval on any of the kills.

Bug or intended? 

 

If intended where can I else go and get some approval? Can't find any darkspawn in Western Approach, or Storm Coast, I am assuming its because I finished the quests about keeping darkspawn down and the trouble with darkspawn.

If you just need approval, you could try finding any of the warden medallions you haven't picked up yet. Each one you find while he's in the party is a "Greatly Approves". There are a handful of Darkspawn in Emprise du Lion, but the approval you'll get from killing them is minimal in comparison.

There are a LOT of darkspawn to kill in the Descent, so likely they just severed that connection between killing darkspawn and his approval.

Done that quest so not an option, he wasn't in my party tho, but I got approval from him handing them in.

Yeah I figured out that much. Shame really, means I am a bit stuck with him.

Where in Emprise du Lion exactly?

 

A cave called Valeska's Watch. It's located between Drakon's Rise and the Tower of Bone. You need to loot the body of a dead Warden to get the key to enter that portion of the map.

Done that place. Done most of the quests there is, so I need a location where they just randomly spawns.

They randomly spawn on the Storm Coast even after you complete Keeping Down the Darkspawn.

It's possible that you've just ran out of stuff to get his approval high enough to trigger the quest. I've noticed that it's much easier to have companions just not like you enough to give you their personal quests if you don't pay attention or make main quest decisions that they hate. Blackwall gets his quest really late and doesn't get it if you're not a close friend.

It's possible that you've just ran out of stuff to get his approval high enough to trigger the quest. I've noticed that it's much easier to have companions just not like you enough to give you their personal quests if you don't pay attention or make main quest decisions that they hate. Blackwall gets his quest really late and doesn't get it if you're not a close friend.

 

I suppose it is, but his quest is first able to trigger after those two quests I mention, and I just finished Wicked Heart and Wicked Eyes. But we'll see.
