Liara is the only reason the plans were found, even if she isn't the one that personally dug them up. The Alliance team knew to look for the plans only because Liara had informed Hackett of the clues unearthed on Khaje.

Wasn't it information that the shadow broker had that gave T'soni a starting point to start looking? Without that, the plans would never of been found.

Nah, she just says that Hackett asked her to use her connections as the Broker to "find a way to kill the reapers", and that her search lead her to the Archives.

How does Hackett know she's the broker?

EDI being bad at keeping secrets again? I don't think that's ever explained. He might just have contacted her as a matter of getting a Prothean expert's opinion, and she came clean with him.

Hell, Wrex knows she's the Shadow Broker!

Well, in fairness, the only people that seem to really know that she's the Broker probably know classified information that is vastly more vital than knowing who the Shadow Broker is. In any case, it's not like it would really matter once the reaper threat is dealt with. I imagine the role of SB would probably evaporate once the war was over. It was just something used to help save the galaxy anyway.

Maybe so. But I would also like to know why Hackett would give Shepard's dogtags to her instead of Shepard's mother, for those that play a spacer Shepard or maybe someone else. What made him go to her to begin with? If its mentioned in the comics, then I wouldn't know since I don't read those.

If Liara had Shepard's dog tags, then what did Anderson throw at Shepard in ME3?

If I had to guess, she probably gave them back to Hackett,  after learning Shepard was under house arrest, who then passed them to Anderson to give to Shepard. That's if the dlc wasn't completed.

If the dlc was completed, I would say Shepard handed them over to Anderson, for some reason, maybe it was required when being under arrest, who then later gave them back to Shepard in the game.

Or slightly more obvious Anderson had new tags created for Shepard. He didn't plan to let Shepard sit on the side lines when the Reapers invaded. When he got the call he most likely got them printed that day or pulled them out of storage and gave them to him on the ship.

Its possible Shepard got a new set of dogtags. But that would leave the question of why Liara didn't return Shepard's tags if the dlc isn't completed

Why would she?  He puts his dog tags on display in his room even with DLC is complete.  He clearly didn't want them or didn't think he deserved them. Accepting them only because Liara gave them to him in the first place.  At no point prior to this is Shepard shown and curiosity or desire to have his dog tags returned to him.

So a scene means Shepard doesn't want the tags? I probably would do the same since the Alliance never made any attempt to confirm Shepard's death.  Also Shepard is not part of the Alliance anymore. Basically its Shepard way of saying  to heck with you Alliance. For her to return them would be a good idea if the dlc isn't completed. She has no right to keep them. She has no idea if Shepard doesn't want the tags or not. Let Shepard decide if he/she wants them.

Why bother to create the scene? Everything can be infered by the player. Unless said player is an idiot that needs every single point of the game spelled out for them. In which case they are about 2 games short to do that.

Well, maybe she didn't have them right at hand in her office on Illium waiting for Shepard to walk right in, and the two don't meet again until the Mars archives in the third game. And when Anderson throws Shepard the tags, assuming it's not new ones, it's within a few weeks at the most of Liara entering the Sol system to study the archives. And Shepard and Anderson greet each other like they haven't talked in a good while. Maybe Liara just passed the tags to Anderson at the first convenient opportunity when it turned out she couldn't visit Shepard personally, and Anderson gave them back the next time he saw him/her - which incidentally happened to be the day the Reapers invaded and he had to spring him/her for active duty.

When you want something personally delivered, even by proxy, and everybody you trust is busy and all over the galaxy, I imagine it can take a while.

Edit: Never mind, redundant post.

Read my post, #60, above. It may not be exactly what you posted, but its nearly the same except I mentioned Hackett

My gut reaction is to say "the keys to the Normandy", but then I remember that the ship is already flying.
