Well, I'm not going to disagree. Most games would be improved with threesomes.

Won't happen for one main reason = too many cinematics  = costly.

 

Though, a Casanova character that over time gets hooked to one romantic interest is a twist. But, I'm not sure how the writers could work this idea into the game.

 

Hm... a threesome as an Easter Egg and the pursuit of how to find the key to unlock the trio?  That would generate hype and interest, especially if MP play is key to get an Ultra Rare "love" item that can be used in the SP game.

My first reaction when I see this suggestion is always "here we go again". Then I'm always reminded the next second that it actually happened in Origins. I wonder if BioWare internally ever considers the fact that, indeed, they've indeed done a threesome in one of their games, and that they have no other choices but to at least take threads like this seriously, if anything (even if they seem like 'jokes' at a first glance).

 

 

BioWare did the threesome deal in Jade Empire, which came long before DA:O did, between a male Spirit Monk, Silk Fox, and Dawn Star (and FTR it's also revealed shortly before the "sex" scene that Silk Fox and Dawn Star are also first cousins as well) which came from the Spirit Monk not being willing or able to choose which woman he wanted to be with and the women make the choice for him. Now I don't know if that is "realistic sense" about adult relationships but it makes much "realistic sense" about adult relationships as a game with where you can beat up talking animal gods in heaven ought to make.  

 

The threesomes in DA:O are basically Leliana and/or Zevron not wanting to be left out of what is basically a one-night stand between the HoF and Isabela.

Threads like this happen because there really isn't anything else to talk about right now due to BioWare announcing the game then going completely silent for the next year.

While I find BioWare´s interest in doing romances silly in certain ways, the way that Bioware is goin right now, is heading deeper and deeper with each new game into some awkward sex scenes, or even some of the conversation that feels like out of any sort of reality. I am not strictly against the possibility of romance, but I think that in last few installments is overall storytelling and immersion of these worlds on recession, while cheap fanservice on it´s peak.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a truly excellent game without any romance in it at all.  There was ref to a past romance that was in some ambiguous "on hold" status but no making moves on someone (though I thought Adam was better with Faridah rather than Megan).  You don't have to do romance to make a good game if the story is fully and completely carrying the game along.

Having never watched House of Cards (although I know I should) I have no context for this scene. So I found it pretty hot.   I actually find M/M/F hotter than M/M/M, maybe because it's less overused or cliche at this point, and avoids the "all gay men are depraved sex fiends" trope. I also like the older couple seduces younger man thing, but that's just me.

I really wouldn't mind a stable menage a trois in this game, they've done BDSM somewhat well, time to explore new avenues. I'd prefer a MFM one or a MMM or even maybe an FFF one but I'll probably pass on a FMF one cuz that one's just passe.

Unfortunately at this stage of society, we do have a double standard. If there is to be a realistic threesome (which I doubt), then if Bio does M/F/F they'll get criticized for being sexist and playing out a tired theme. Even a F/F/F would be interpreted as catering to the horny teen male demographic rather than to women who enjoy same sex relationships. And if they do M/M/F it could alienate the dudebro fanbase for making that devil's triangle turn into their latent curiosity fulfilled.

You CAN go through with minimal death dealing but it is, by design, difficult and, therefore, more rewarding. 

 

I went (and go) on selective killing sprees.  After Alice Garden Pods I see no reason to be all nicey kissy with Bell Tower and, certainly in that location, make sure I eliminate each and every one of them.  Beyond that you have non-lethal weapons to help you as well as your non-lethal direct take-down.

Ugh. There is no such thing as universal latent curiosity.  And this whole idea is ridic.  Ain't gonna happen and doesn't NEED to happen.  The game isn't about sexual quirks, perversions, or even love and romance.  That is all side-show meant to simply fill out the universe a bit.  It doesn't make your abiity to win at the end of the game easier, doesn't bring on the breath scene in the original ending, it's purely fanboy service for titillation.  It MAINLY serves for younger males or lock-ins and they are NOT the primary audience of the game (maybe just here in these forums at this time in history...during the lull). Note I said "mainly" because that is just a fact.  The audience is not 50-50 male-female, isn't 50-50 straight-gay, etc.

I wouldn't really say heading deeper into it as their romances have always been silly things that involve a couple of awkward flirting scenes followed up by banging. They're closer to one night stands than actual romances, except the person is apparently forever in love with you now.

 

Companions is what BioWare does best, and it'd be interesting to see romances be more than just banging. Citadel DLC was nice because I actually got to do other stuff with Tali.

Sounds like me. I got caught during sneaking into police department so I ended up killing every police in the building. I was expecting that it wouldn't matter and they would just respawn cause video game logic, but apparently nope since game had news about crazy killer slaughtering whole police station. Uh huh, I didn't plan to play as serial killer

 

Anyways I think romance is something that doesn't have to be in story in order for story to be good, but for RPG's it's nice addition especially if it's optional.

@Nattfare: The comic "Elfquest" did have an orgy just before a really bloody battle where many died.

 

Strangly, the author of that story got outraged mail from readers who complained about the orgy (where you hardly see anything) but no one seemed to mind all those deaths that followed.

Less manipulative too, I'd imagine? Those two reptiles were almost certainly more motivated toward increasing Meechum's sense of devotion to them than they were any genuinely amorous feeling.
