PPR makes him a boss killer. CSMG makes him more of a mook killer.
With the PPR and Warp ammo, Banshees melt like cheese, and armor has no chance.
The ACA is the character I've used the most respec cards on, there's so many ways to play him.
It's sacrilege I know, but I have him specced without DC at the moment and he's still beastly. Don't underestimate his light melee in a tight spot, unless platinum...
CSMG is my fav gun for him. I don't tend to use ascension stance much, the animation is cool when you first start using it but takes F O R E V E R.
For LOL's I like to make him look like a normal Collecturd, go into a bronze Collecturd game and see how much friendly fire I can get, but I'm a bit weird!

I made sure my kits don't look like the enemy precisely because of that. My usual color scheme is orange/red but of course that doesn't work for the Juggernaut and it's still too close to possessed collectors, so I turned him and the ACA green instead. Green ACA with PPR and DS... seriously fun. ^^

Basically, if you're going to take a PPR, you might as well just take the damn typhoon. At least that way it won't be as annoying.
Maybe if you really prefer the Typhoon over the PPR, but otherwise no- Typhoon is even heavier, and at the higher levels the PPR has superior DPS, and thats even before his racial/passive bonuses are applied (so if you've specced for full weapon damage the PPR is going to be pretty significantly better).

PPR sux hard against Cerberus. Sure, it may be a bit more effective (debatable) against Reapers and Collectors compared to the Typhoon, but it is so abysmal against anything Cerberus, there is really no point in taking it for U/U.

On-host phantom BS, I assume. But the Typhoon doesn't really fare any better against Phantoms than the PPR, you can still deal with them relatively harmlessly if you know what you're doing (between DS, DC and the Warp ammo you should be using), and you can always just throw the Acolyte on as sidearm since it barely affects your cooldowns anyways.

I don't really feel writing a novel here. If you tried using the PPR as your sole weapon vs. cerb, you would understand. The weapon has a ramp up with reduced damage. You have dragoons and phantoms running all over the damn place. They will get in your face. The PPR sux at close range and it sux at staggering. You will likely not stagger the phantom or dragoon - they will stagger you or you will have to dodge. When you get staggered or dodge, you have to start the ramp up again - now you are at reduced damage with less ammo - but the ramp up does not care about your remaining clip - it still takes just as long. Next thing you know, you'll be out of ammo and still be getting sh!t on by cerbs. Nemesis suck unless you can stagger them... the list goes on. The typhoon gives no f**ks about cerbs. Its ramp up does not incur reduced damage per bullet and you can reload at will. Sure, phantoms still suck, but if you can't ace them with an entire typhoon clip at close range, then you have some l2p issues. Plus it staggers better, plus it has innate piercing, which allows you to rock warp rounds without reduced damage... that list goes on too.

Neither one staggers reliably, they both have ramp ups (which start over if you get staggered), they're both less than ideal at point blank range- the one substantive difference is the Typhoon's innate piercing, but that doesn't really matter much in this context anyways.

I think you can always do some BEs to halt the enemies. Neither gun can save you from being whipped on the face, though. Better using a Wraith.

Of course. Or lolreegar for that matter. My solo time with the ACA vs cerb was nearly ten minutes faster using the reegar vs. typhoon. Unfortunately, many on this forum have nothing but hate for the dark lord.
