nobody talking about the same thing
there's so much cross talk on multiple levels with using the ppr, that I can just add that its good for hunting elephants on the serengheti, on a john deere tractor. Now we've covered 360 degrees of viewpoints.

Great, that will give us more space to work on our duo. What I've been told was true after all, this Bioware Sexy Network is really good.

Yes, but the argument being made is that as long as you have the PPR Cerberus becomes trivial
No one made that argument.
If BloodBeforeTears had only said that the PPR doesn't trivialize Cerberus I doubt there'd be much of argument, but the claim that started all this was that the PPR "sux hard vs. Cerberus". But that's obviously pretty silly, it doesn't "suck hard" no matter how you slice it, even if it does struggle vs on-host phantom shenanigans (as do most hitscan guns).

I didn't read alot of the most recent posts, but the claim that started all this was that the PPR "sucks hard vs Cerberus", not (the far more modest and credible claim) that it doesn't trivialize them.
You technically could interpret a few of my posts in a manner that implies that PPR vs. Cerberus is trivial because my overall attitude towards ME3MP is that it is trivial compared to PvP FPS (and similiar) games.
But I never said "slap a PPR on it and Cerberus is no big deal". What I said is that using only the PPR as a weapon doesn't automatically makes you weaker vs. Cerberus and that the weapon itself doesn't change how the enemy behaves. Just to make things clear before we finally end this discussion.
Bonus: Might have found someone to play duos with. ^^

I mean, all guns have strengths and weaknesse and so a gun like the Venom can negate phantoms but then not do especially well against Atlases, whereas the PPR is the reverse and can absolutely shred Atlases but struggles against phantoms. It may be the case that using a gun that negates phantoms and dragoons is a bigger overall advantage, just because Atlases are so slow and can be saved for last, and because phantoms/dragoons are one of the most efficient units in terms of TTK and depleting the wave budget.. But its not going to be a huge overall advantage, and saying that the PPR "sucks hard" on this basis can only be hyperbole, at best. Its one of the best guns in the game, irrespective of faction.

Of course, one could have 5000 platinum solos and still be wrong, just like one could have zero plat solos and still be right. But obviously the PPR isn't as effective as the Venom or other stagger weapons against Phantoms- but it doesn't follow that it "sucks against Cerberus" (esp since it completely wrecks every single other unit in the faction), and the same is true for most hitscan weapons (i.e. they are less effective vs. phantom BS). But the really silly part here is that the recommended alternative is not the Venom or GPS or any gun that fares any better vs phantoms or dragoons, but a gun that is identical to the PPR in every relevant respect (the Typhoon).
Dude, you have issues. This video is preloaded to gold wave 7 cerb. Note how the typhoon trivializes, staggers, and destroys dragoons and phantoms at close range with ease. To think that the PPR is just as effective here is disillusionment. Not that I care one iota. Do whatever you want bro. If the mean green p!$$ beam makes you happy then by all means - whip it out, lol.

Thanks for the gesture. And pardon my skepticism (I posed as a chick on Pacific Poker years ago in order to maximize returns. Not implying that people here have similar motivations, but what are the odds that the serious gamer is femal?. Be honest. How many AGDQ speedrunners are female?)

Hehe. For the discussion topic we are having it should't play any role at all. In this case it's simply a minor form of address adjustment.

I noted how it worked about as well as the PPR in that situation. Which isn't surprising, given that in terms of the (objective) game mechanics and stats they're pretty close to identical in every relevant respect. You don't need to invent nonsense to justify a personal preference, you can just say "but I like the Typhoon alot" and leave it that.
And I see that Fuenf is still trolling for attention- can we get this guy a friend?

Mmm , curious now - did it work (substantial enough)?...on Pacific Poker years ago in order to maximize returns. ...
Because if it did, specifically on poker players, which are notoriously "pokerfaced", then it seemed more like a gathering of many normal people just trying their basic luck & subsequent losses there.
We know gamers goes into "interupt mode" much quicker; well , because the "profession" predetermines it. I think with PvP, this can be a powerful distraction weapon. In coop it's probably just entertainment value.

Agreed. But just understand that from my perspective of the ME3MP universe as experienced in-game, the PPR vs. phantoms and dragoons has caused me nothing but headache and frustration. And so again, if you can teach me how to wreck shop with the PPR vs. goons and phantoms in close proximity (greater or equal in effectiveness to the clip I posted), I would love to see it so that I can l2ppr.

Absolutely. It probably upped my hourly rate $10-20 an hour. However, why it helped is a reason you may not expect. I took advantage of the ability to text chat with other (presumably male) users in an effort to effectively demand mercy. For example, I would respond more favorably to someone (flirting, etc) if they were nicer to me in the context of the game (not raising when they had the nuts, respecting my bluff, etc). I would also criticize those that played good poker (using deception, extracting max value, etc). My idea was that this behavior alone would be enough to overcome the rake. And it did.
HOWEVER - online poker is much different from when it was first conceived. I would not expect the same tactics to work today, unless you could find a site containing a large percentage of recreational players.

Maybe not 60% but 40% seems realistic. At least according to my experiences. ![]()
