I honestly think that with that statement about females and "serious" gaming you have made a succinct argument that the word "retarded" should be kept in the common English vocabulary instead of relegated to second class status over concerns of political correctness. Honestly, I suspect that you are a Neanderthal asshat and will await further evidence that supports this hypothesis. I can honestly tell you that the flat-out baddest ME3MP player I've witnessed was female, though I don't think her biological gender had anything to do with it one way or other. It is my honest opinion that there are more women joining the ranks of elite gamers everyday and that it won't be long until they are present in direct proportion to their numbers in the overall population, at least within developed, affluent nations. I honestly wonder if you think that historical male over-representation in gaming has anything at all to do with penises and vaginas instead of simply demonstrating just how much historical patriarchy remains within the contemporary cultures of affluent first-world nations. Also, it's my honest belief that the gaming world can't increase their female numbers fast enough and that gaming will be honestly better for it when the misogynist tone of its worst games is mercilessly obliterated.

If I'm honest, I'd have to admit that I care what you really think less and less with each word I type because the honest truth is that I think I was probably right a while ago with the "retarded" thing.

Something I was reading on a AGDQ blog, written by professional speedrunner geoffistofeles, who in the course of addressing the commentators who can't seem to talk about the performance of female speedrunners because of talking about screwing them, mentions some topics you seem to be intimately familiar with...

So the first part of the puzzle of confusion is why do these people obsess over members of the opposite sex? Yes, there's desperation, loneliness, standard answers for wanting to find something. But the complication comes with the second part: these same people are often just as obsessed with keeping women away, which can be explained in three words: "fake gamer girl."

The phrase alone is enough to send some people into apoplectic fits. How DARE these women seek to prey on the attention of these people and pretend to be one of them! Yet while these people certainly exist, no one thinks twice about how rare they are. As a result, a guy likes a particular game? Cool. A girl likes a particular game? Prove it. Why do they need to prove it? Why can't some people accept that women play games too? Furthermore, if they do prove it, they're suddenly the sexual object of everyone's affection. It's both sides of dehumanization: if you don't prove you like games, you're subhuman, lower than filth. If you do prove it, you're put on a pedestal, where the only option is looking down on them.

This is why there's the perception that female gamers are rare. This is why some choose neutral sounding names, because feminine sounding tags attract this attention. This is why some choose to never speak up in a multiplayer game or party chat. And before you say that they're a minority, this is the group considered the gamer demographic. This is the group wanting all male games. This is the group who only wants women wearing as little as possible with no personality, bound and gagged in the corner like a goddamn prize. This is the group companies will ultimately cater to, because that's been their key demographic.

You are taking this the wrong way.  It is unquestionable that there are females who can compete at the highest level in activities traditionally dominated by males, irrespective of anything.  Two examples off the top of my head would be:

Be careful, he is bug, ... AND EVERYONE TRIES TO STOMP ON THIS ONE!

 

But he is a lot of fun watching all his animations, ... and sometime does BOOM, and everything in funky glowing green.

And then you can trow more animations, a bugs / flies on the enemy.

 

 

Oh, and I really like the CSMG on this guy. It's fits perfect into his animation cinematics, when you tab the trigger too emotional.
