Nah, it's the worst gun. At least Shuriken doesn't slow you down.
The Incisor sniper rifle says hello
I remember liking the Revenant back when i thought silver was tough
I have grinded the challenge for it twice, however
Considering its accuracy, the Revenant would have been awesome if we could fire it in one hand WHILE wielding an omnishield, much like the ex-Shadowboker in ME2.

Well, that wouldn't help it kill stuff any faster, so it'd still be far from awesome - but at least it'd have its niche.
Obviously, if you are looking for optimal setups, the Revenant isn't for you. But I do like it enough that I take it out regularly, either with the TSol (AP ammo), or more often with the TGI (Inc ammo). Once its main faults are somewhat mitigated, it provides for a cathartic, fun experience. It's never going to be the Harrier, and it might not even be as good as the Phaeston, but variety is what keeps me coming back to this game (and the nostalgia for ME2's Revenant also plays a role in this case
).

I resent that!
The incisor is very maligned, but totally viable up to gold. Barrage gear + stabilization mod make it precise enough to pop heads at long distances. Three round bursts means not having to worry about the shield gate. I use it on the QFI with AP or Inc ammo, and I don't feel underpowered at all.
The lesson here seems to be that, once you start getting level 4 equipment, most guns become viable on gold ![]()

I hear it didn't really help him much.
Might as well mention that it is decent enough for gold if Marksman or Devastator Mode are your friend.
I said it in the other thread:
+stability
scope
hard cover
And get your 20 Headshots with the Revenant.
There should be an Achievement for it!

FTFY.
OT: Revenant has only one problem and it is called Typhoon. Typhoon is what the Revenant was in ME2 and what it could have been in ME3, but BW chose to release it as a separate weapon instead of fixing it through balancing updates. Having said that, I like very much using the Revenant on the HSol (of course Turians, Quarksman and Destroyer are also a good fit).
If Revenant had at least one of the qualities of the Typhoon (higher damage, reasonably wide spread, bonus vs shields/barriers, innate AP), it would have been an excellent gun, now it's just decent.

You lost me right there.

Well, since we're doing comparisons...
Hurricane I >> Revenant X. An SMG vs. an LMG. That says something about how crappy Revenant really is.

Hurricane is better than ALL Assault Rifles, with the very debatable exception of the Harrier. It's like saying that the Wraith is better than the Krysae or the Executioner. One is extremely versatile, extremely high-damaging and extremely light weapon and the other is a niche weapon.
The Revenant and the Typhoon fulfill the same functionality but one has too many drawbacks and the other next to none. It can be made to work but it requires some sacrifices, that's why I said it's decent, not excellent.
I know few people like it, but I've been known to bring it to Platinum now and again, just as I do with the Mantis, the Incisor, the Mattock and the Eviscerator. It's fine.
Also, for a little nostalgia:
Hurricane is better than ALL Assault Rifles
Hurricane is certainly quite OP, I wouldn't disagree with that, but Hurricane I is definitely not better than all ARs at X.

Again, with the debatable exception of the Harrier, it is. It has Reegar level of OP cheese.
It helps if you a. get close to the target and/or b. shoot from hardcover. It's not an awesome rifle by far but it is definitely not the worst.
This is the key with the Revenant. This game was designed with hard cover in mind, and unfortunately, Bioware designed the guns based on the assumption that people would use hard cover. If you're using hard cover, the Revenant is actually a pretty decent gun. It gains a lot of stability and accuracy from being in hard cover. The problem with the Revenant is that it's beyond gawd awful outside of hard cover, which means it's useless to the vast majority of good players.
The Revenant is still fun to use, its effectiveness just sort of sucks compared to... well, most other guns in this game. I like to use it on the Krogan Soldier from time to time (with cheese obviously) but that's about it.
Although, did I mention that with its bullet spread it can take out entire spawns on plat?

Heck yeah. One-hand snipe with that bad boy a la Warden Kuril.

I'm too lazy to read back the whole page and a half, but Is this the thread, where some dude is explaining how the Revenant is one of the best CC gun?

What your barn looks like after standing 10 feet in front of it firing the Revy.
WUT?! It shoots square slugs?!!
