Silly. You appear to be the only one who got offended here (not to mention the one being a ******). I pointed out that since you haven't actually played with the overwhelming majority of people who trash the Revenant (i.e. basically everyone), you don't actually know whether they suck with it or don't like it because it just sort of sucks. Not sure why you would think that meant I was offended- I wasn't one of the people "hating" on the Revenant so your comment wouldn't have even applied to me anyways (I was one of the people who posted that I like using it on certain kits). So, take a deep breath, soak that hurt-butt, and rest content that no one is disputing what appears to be your sole point here (i.e. that at least the Revenant isn't one of the very worst guns in the game... just pretty bad).

I used to spec one of the human soldiers for infinite dakka. That was before the Typhoon was available and done with the revenant. Earned me a couple of puzzled looks.

Or, rather, I like what it would be without the slowdown. That is the only part of it that cannot be fixed without hacking, and it's the only part that particularly bothers me. The spread would end up irking me, but if it didn't slow down my movement speed, I could just throw it on the Trooper or GE and make it fun. It's unfortunate that the gun wasn't slightly more accurate and without the slowdown, that is all that is stopping it from being the subject of trollposts like this thread. Everyone would agree that it is OK, then go shoot their favourite weapons at their (least)favourite enemies and be happy.

I occasionally use it on GE for the lols or the Striker and watch people like FTL and Shu100 rage quit after I take first with a ok gun.

My favorite Revenant build is the full defensive bubble Asari Justicar with maxed shield recharge.  If you're sitting in hard cover with 80% DR from Reave and Bubble, plus a 0.5 second shield recharge, you can eat a ton of bullets with little consequence.  Just sit there and go full Dakka.  And the Revenant is pretty stable and reasonably accurate if you're in hard cover.  Great for camping setups, you know... if you're into that sort of thing.

In honor of this thread I used the Revenant last night on my grenade-less Human Soldier. (Blasphemy, I know, but I had him spec'd that way for a stupid challenge.)

 

PRO: with Stability Damper, scope, Barrage Gear, and Stabilization Module, the Revenant was decently accurate.

 

CON: I had to use all that sh*t to make it so.

 

PRO: headshot some Banshees.

 

CON: took two entire clips (with Adrenaline Rush) to kill Brutes.

 

Conclusion: the problem with the Revenant isn't stability or accuracy, it's that it doesn't do enough damage.

I freaking love the Revenant, but it's clear that Biovar hates it/us. Pathetic damage, terribly innacurrate, high recoil (i wanna puke). Even Phaeston is a more efficient choice ffs.

This worked out well for Condor/Cerberus/Gold. Used the Revvay with Incendiary Ammo III. All of the other players were far above my rank, but we mostly camped on the elevated platform and I kept dropping the bubble on the BoTB Volus Adept and spamming reave everywhere plus dakka from the Revvay. Also I only got taken out by goons once (yay) vs the 10 times they normally get me. Anyway, the Revvay did its job and I actually took down a good number of goons and Phantoms and took big chunks out of Atlases.

The best was when three Engineers were following an Atlas (which they were spam-repairing) around the corner leading up to the left side of the platform from the lower spawn zone. The Volus and our QFE/QFI were holding down the ramp, so I left them with a new bubble, then ran back and leaned over the side of the platform. The Engineers were all standing right there below me, so I pointed the Revvay at the center of the group and fired. Even the Revvay couldn't miss in that situation and they went down in a smoldering heap. I mean it was so fast it was like I had grenade-spammed them.

My only complaint was not being able to self-generate biotic explosions made things a little boring when we weren't getting rushed by Phantoms. And I forgot to yell LLLLLLLLAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWW or SAY HELLO TO MAI LIL' FREND!!!!!!! when dispatching the Engineers. Next time, Gadget.

The major reason why it doesn't do enough damage is that it's very inaccurate. It has very good base DPS for an assault rifle - slightly better than Valkyrie.

Amen. It shouldn't be especially accurate or stable- its a machine gun. But it should do at least moderately respectable damage.

I wouldn't mind low damage if it could shoot straight. But it's got spitfire damage (with no modifiers), eviscerator accuracy and hornet recoil.

It doesn't, really. Brutes are one of the few enemies Revenant does reasonably well against. That said, I always try to headshot Brutes, and obviously Revenant has hard time hitting that tiny face.

 

Revenant has pretty good DPS if all the bullets hit their target (better than Lancer, Saber, CAR, Argus, Eagle etc.), the problem is getting all the bullets hit their target.
