Another topic about companion reactions to Solas' plan got me thinking - if Morrigan knew of Solas' plan what would she do?

She cares about saving the ancient legends of Thedas, and seems to have little attachment to modern "mundane" Thedas (except for possibly one or two people, depending on how the story goes). And she's kind of an ancient elf nerd.

But then would this be going to far even for her?

Equally as important, and just as hard to decide is what it would mean for her. If she considered it a change that would destroy her I'm certain she would be against it. But would it destroy her? She has knowledge and power (if she drank from the well then even more) and connections (Flemythal). Given time to prepare accordingly could that be a future she could see in her benefit? Or is the fact that she isn't an ancient elf going to mean she'll be somewhat screwed, even if she did survive the veil being torn down?

Much would depend on whether she thought she could survive the change.   Also whether or not she had a family.    She clearly cares about Kieran now and nothing is more deadly than a mother whose child is threatened.    If she is still in a romance with the HoF she would also likely not want to lose him either.     Morrigan is likely to be the new Flemeth now and even if she didn't totally oppose his plan, I think she would be in favour of modifying it or at least knowing what his plan for dealing with the evanuris was.    I think Morrigan would share the view that Solas' plans haven't exactly been fool proof up to now and the episode with the Well (whether she drank or not) would have reminded her that it pays not to rush into things.

I think as long as she can ensure those she loves would be safe, she wouldn't have an issue with Solas' plans. She's proven to be short sighted and have tunnel vision, and she doesn't care for most of the modern world. And she's arrogant enough to believe that she would be able to survive the change unquestionably. I think she would prefer not to leave the decision to Solas, as she wants to be in a position of control, but perhaps with Flemeth's parting gift she would be able to make an uneasy alliance with him.

She is an elf nerd like Liara was a Prothean nerd.  She would turn on Solas pretty darn quick once she learns his plan.

In Dragon Age Inquisition, spoke in lenght about topposing Corypheus' deification as well as the destruction of the world.

Solas' plans are just as his or even worse and thus, I doubt she would be more supportive of them simply because it's an ancient elf proposing the world be destroyed.

I'm half wondering if she sort of knew what's coming. Kieran did let drop that Morigan has talked to him about the coming change (Flemeth also hinted of it). What change? The change the inquisitor would wrought or the one by Solas? If it's both or the latter, then, perhaps she's prepared. Mayhaps the reason why she seeks out lost elven knowledge and any others she can find since the Fifth Blight.

She's no fan of humans and elves at present status. If she can protect herself and Kieran, she probably wouldn't bother with the coming conflict. I'm going to guess that if the eluvians are not locked out to her, she would find a place in-between, there're many she did say, and stay there with Kieran until the dust settles.

As to whether Solas has a hold on her, it depends on what's being passed to him from Flemeth. Definitely, she wouldn't be happy if he does and I doubt she'll sit quietly.

I think Morrigan is a bigger softy then most people(including herself) give her credit for. Even if she acts like it's for a selfish reason, I don't think she'd knowingly ignore a world ending threat.

Pretty sure she'll do something typical Morrigan and lash out at him how everything he does ends up in a disaster.

She can't wait for an excuse to give the "reason you suck" speech to anyone. Just look at how she handled it when she found out about Flemeth.

In some ways I agree.. She speaks her mind, mislead the  warden but, in the end saved his life by doing the DR and her reward was the OGC..

A fair trade.

Well, the OGC was a gift for herself.

She would be able to survive the change with what knowledge Flemeth gave to her. Morrigan would know how to "fly" if it ever comes time for everyone to "fall".

However, she should know full well that Solas will kill her if he finds her. He can't risk having a human around to spread any kind of dissent. Plus, human genetics beat elven regarding procreation.

So she would oppose Solas.

Hail Morrigu...Great queen!....Earth mother!  Protector!

Flemeth spent millenia attempting to salvage the devastation the Evanuris (including Solas) had caused

"You seek to preserve the powers that be, but to what end? it is because I taught you girl. She was betrayed, as I was betrayed, as the world was betrayed..."

She raised Morrigan to be very very tough, and to amass power. She wanted Morrigan to be wise enough and powerful enough to prevent the mistakes of the past from repeating

Flemeth was carrying a god inside her for a very long time, and was able to plan how she wanted the history of Thedas unfold. All her actions were geared toward putting the world back together and restoring what was lost

She never showed off her true powers (unlike the way Solas is using it now - petrifying crowds of Qunari) she was very subtle and worked with wisdom  behind the scenes.

I do not know why she chose to give Solas the powers he is now abusing...but I seriously doubt she would leave Morrigan vulnerable. According to what she told the Grey wardens in DAO

"I am giving you the most precious thing to me in the world"

Somehow i doubt that Morrigan would want commit suicide.

Even if she could somehow survive then still her lover and/or son would die because of that and she wasn't very keen on her son being taken away by Flemeth.

So i think that she may be intrested in preserving old magic in her world rather than blowing it up, at least now .

DAO Morrigan would perhaps be apathetic at worst, but seeing that she isn't just an elf-magic nerd but an all-magic nerd I think it's safe to say that every version of her would actively oppose him. If she has any family or a friendly warden by the time of DAI then the motivation would be obvious, but even childless Morrigan is more sentimental than what she lets on. Just the way she gushes about Skyhold gives me the feeling that she wouldn't want this world and all its relics to perish entirely, especially not for some elf supremacist dystopia. Change, sure, but not carpet bombed with Fade bits.

As far as we know the Old Gods and their own magic aren't related to the elven mess (this could easily change of course but it's not the case as of now), yet Flemeth and therefore Morrigan were pretty much obsessed with them. Destroying this world = killing the remaining Old Gods. The no-attachment-allowed, independence-ftw witch worked her ass off to be knocked up just to preserve one of them. Can't imagine she would sit idly by when two of that same thing among literally everything else are threatened with oblivion.

The soul of a god for the one of a mortal? nope is not fair trade.

Anyway Morrigan is not an ancient elf if Solas would succeeded she will die like any other who are not biologically compatible for the magic of the fade and the ancient world.

If she did not use the well of sorrow her knowledge about ancient elves  and their magic is incorrect as the one of your average Dalish keeper.

She only know who is Mythal.

This is basically Morrigan and Solas policy
"Is not me that need to change in order to love the world in some capacity,is the world who need to change to follow my whims"

Even if she acts like it's for a selfish reason, I don't think she'd knowingly ignore a world ending threat.

Ironically this is what she already did in DAO when she ignored the blight (world ending threat)because she
was too angry for the refusal of the ritual.
