They aren't human so why does it matter if they're slight by our standards? Maybe they have denser musculature or a really efficient adrenal system or something.

To be fair it isn't just that the male elves are slight - they look like POWs. That's a level of skinnny most humans cannot achieve without serious starvation. And even then most men will have broader chests and shoulders.

Food for thought.. I wonder if Elves was built more like humans how many would complain about them being to fat/to large for Elves?

Check some of the Dwarf mods on you tube all of a sudden the female dwarf  looks more like she belongs on a walkway of a fashion show instead of having the stout look of dwarves.

The Elves in DA:O look stout, in DA2 they look like skinny Aliens from another planet instead of the clan that fled Ferelden shortly after the Dalish hunter left with Duncan to become a Grey. In DA:I they're to skinny.

Yes.

Firstly, player characters are by definition exceptional.  Any warrior elf is going to be an outlier.

Second, Dragon Age is so full of performance-enhancing magic, that it's not too hard to believe that an elf built like marathon runner can wield a large sword and wear heavy armor.

Perhaps like the Quarians in Mass Effect, their noodly limbs actually are far stronger than they appear?

possibly we kmnow Tali carries a shotgun with her also Fenris uses 2 handed weapons as well. Besides to me it's not about what you're carrying that matters to me it's what you do with it. If they plan on fighting side by side with me then great.

My next DAI playthrough, I'd like to play an female elf warrior for various reasons except it seems so dumb that a female elf would even be able to pick up the weapons she'd need. I too like to hear how it could even be possible so it doesn't bug me the entire game, to see my little tiny elf packing such heavy weapons (and actually using them).

If want something more believable as the OP give her prismatic greataxe or chromatic sword and you're good to go, headcanon that the sword/axe awakens her elf blood powers and she channels ancient elf magic creating a magic/ethereal blade (which matches the weapons design)

One indication that they're stronger than they might appear is that elves are often shown (and even stereotyped in-universe) to be extremely proficient archers, which does require developing muscle strength. That DA elves don't seem to have any problems using longbows either (which requires more strength to master) might suggest they are on par with humans in terms of strength, despite appearances?

The draw weight of a bow in Dragon Age being?

The average weight of a sword in comparison?

If your going to argue numerics provide them.

Also drawing a bow is mostly wrist and hand strength, not forearm and shoulders.
