This mod reduces startup time by around ~10 seconds by taking the following steps:
Issues: Going back and forth between the menu/multiplayer may cause UI to not appear due to desync

There seems to be a little quirk with this. When you return to the main menu from multiplayer the buttons aren't visible. You can still click on them if you listen for the sound when your mouse goes over them.

Updated, just overwrite the 4 files in the same manner, should work just fine now.

Although, someone told me a trick that after a ctd, you can join a private game immediately once the BW opening screen starts to show. Skips a lot of the menus.

Just one thing, when I overwrote the Patch it told me there were only 3 files identical, not 4.

Correct, cas_04.cas is self-made, so it should be 3 overwrites and 1 addition. I'll edit OP just in case

Yup I've heard about that one. It should be even faster now, just try launch your game by joining a friend!

I'm also quite surprised that moderators haven't shut this thread yet. If this delivery format (google drive + small archives) doesn't bother them or the devs then I'll plan to do more of these in the future. E.G. Server browser, which I could technically upload in the next hour but I think I'll ask a dev first
It doesn't really alter anything past the launching of the game, so it'd be as surprising as it would be annoying to see it shut down. It's an all-around improvement. Probably best to play it safe with some things though, yeah.
On that note, just an FYI for anyone who already uses other mods. Because of the way the game reads patches, to make this work with your mods, you'll need to remake your merged folder and force a rescan of Patch (after applying this mod).

I did like the others - overwrote those 3 files and added the 4th. Now the game isn't starting at all. I can see it running in Processes (and can end it from there) but it's not launching.
As I was cheap and just backed up those files (not the whole Patch one because it was too big and my poor SSD is almost at full capacity xD) bringing them back didn't work. Trying a Repair first, I guess I'll have to reinstall if it doesn't work.

I had that issue the first time, when I just tried to directly extract the folder from the archive to the update directory. I had backed up the directory first though, and moved it back.
Try extracting the new patch directory somewhere, then moving it into the update folder.

I did extract it to a separate directory. But I'll try again later, for sure, something could have gotten corrupted (my favourite excuse at work when I don't have a coherent explanation what happened 
).

Backing up each file individually should work as well, as long as you rename the extensions to something else (e.g. .sb -> .sbbackup) so my guess is that you messed up somewhere!

Well, I backed them up in a different directory, then brought those 4 files in the specified locations. I am not sure exactly where could I have messed up but I am guessing something went wrong for sure considering no one else had that problem. I'll try again later and tell you if it worked.
