A concave earth is an "inside-out" cosmological rapresentation of the Earth.

This picture may help to understand:

The fade/black city are "inside" the "egg", the nations of thedas are in the inner side of the "shell", sorrounded by the stone/deep roads, and after that, the wellspring... which seems to be a sort of endless sky.

This might explain

- the absence of a proper, endless sky on the surface (see the rift)

- the eluvian system, the elven roads/library/crossroads

- the "real" sky of the wellspring (the descent)

- the legend of the buried sun

what do you think?

No. It's a virtual reality construct created by the reapers. They sent souls there as a social experiment.

But how would the Moon Men fit into this theory then?

How does the rift conflict with a notion of endless sky?

it doesn't :)

simply, the breach somehow doesn't make me think/feel the presence of an endless sky.

On the contrary, the wellspring, the clouds beneath, gives me a sensation of something "limitless".

Thedas is actaly upsaid down. Fereldan is in the north. Thedas is basically europa. I think thedas is normal planet like in reality. Exept it is hollow earth.

Sooo...the Reapers are in league with Vault-Tech which was founded by Missy and endorsed by Albert Wesker.

Just as I suspected all along!

And Maker is the cosmic chicken that laid the egg...

But honestly, I love this! The wellspring has been seriously bothering me. Could you elaborate on the eluvian system though?

That's... pretty scary.

Oh great, the Cyrus Teed militants showed up.

The sky in the Wellspring is just gas sitting in the Titan's lungs!

In our Cycle, we would just dismiss these claims.

North and south are explicitly referenced in the game, and Fereldan is in the south.  But the weather patterns show that, assuming Thedas is on a "normal" planet, it's in the southern hemisphere.

As to the topic at hand, if Thedas is concave, that might explain why they don't all just all up into that big old sky. </Oghren>

Its indeed in the southern hemisphere given it gets colder as you go south while it gets warmer as you go north.

Maybe they had better scientists who identified north and south more reasonably.

Sort of like how Ben Frankling did the whole eletricity charge thing backwards, but we keep it by convention.

Yes like in middle ages earth was flat. Maybe people just get it wrong, you can call north potato still fact is in original thedas map going up from Ferelden climath gets warmer. And Frozen seas most likely is north or south poll or whatever. And Africa Par vollen is jungle maybe it's equator of Thedas world.

I wonder when that tired old myth of people thinking the world was flat in the middle ages will die?

I've long thought this mosaic in-game represented a cosmological view of Thedas. it sort of works with your idea, I think?

The great library was the the place were all the roads are connected, and so the crossroad. The Eluvian are the fastest system to travel. Both are strictly connected with the Fade, and/or, like Morrigan said, "a place between the worlds" (or something like that).

In a 3d spherical system, the shortest way to connect two points on the surface of the sphere, is a straight line that pass "inside" the sphere.

If Thedas is a normal earth, those line/crossroad shold be somewhere in the deep roads (as it seems)

In Thedas is a concave earth, with the Fade in the center, the "eluvians paths" (crossroad/library) should be somewhere in/near the Fade.

Interesting, however:

1. How is there an absence of an endless sky? On the surface you have a horizon in front, left, right and behind you. Plus that huge green rip in the sky ...

2. If you look around the crossroads make in terms of physics no sense, just like the fade. Aside from that it has been explained as another dimensions or reality linked to Thedas.

3. The sky above the wellspring ... you never see the sky, only clouds. Aside from that it had been said you are inside a Titan, whatever that means.

4. A legend is no proof for anything. Especially a several thousand years old legend.
