Hi! I'm really unhappy with my characters portrait but i've gotten really far into the game. Is there any way to alter the portrait?  i prefer to avoid downloading mods, it seems ridiculously complicated and requires a lot of programs from before and stuff.  I've got mo problem using the command console however. I have an ultimate edition of origins on origin. Any suggestions?

There might be an option altering the save with the toolset. Did you want to change the portrait up-down-left-right-closer or further away..expression also? Background color? It may be able to be done...but I'm not sure exactly how.

I believe the character portrait can be modified under Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age, where your savegames are stored. Just locate the folder for the desired character and find the portrait image file.

Then create a new character with the portrait you want, save the game, locate the new character in the above mentioned folder, and replace the old char's portrait with the one copied from the new char's folder.

I can't confirm that this will work though as I currently don't have DA installed, but it's worth a try.

It's absolutely possible, via an edit to the save game of the character, with the toolset. This post has a brief explanation of the procedure/applicable fields, though some googling will probably turn up a more detailed rundown of the process. (And FWIW, I'm pretty sure the same can also be accomplished with a GFF editor (or maybe TLKedit), rather than the overhead/overkill of the toolset.)

Anyone else read this in a Salarian voice? No just me?

Lol. Is it because of my profile pic, or my tendency to make long sentences, or both?

definitely the pic, but now both could apply now that you mention it.

I just have this vision in my head that Salarians are always the ones to answer you when you vid phone them for tech support with a product.

Well, I imagine they'd be so much more useful than the tech support on 21st century Earth... And because no one wants to deal with them, they all come to me with their problems because I study computer engineering and I can fix their stuff, or so they think (I always google how to do it). Not to derail this thread or anything.
