KOTOR 2 sucked compared to KOTOR 1. There is a reason people have heavily modded it, just like they have heavily modded ME 3's ending. They both suck. I do not care if you like it more. You are not majority opinion or USER metacritic scores, that are empirical proof that it is not as well liked. Compare ME 1 to 3. Compare KOTOR to KOTOR 2. You are an outlier in the opinion you have and there are people who probably think Niki Minaj is a better singer than Whitney Houston was. Again. I don't care what some vast minority opinion is.

Metacritic is not a reliable source for legitimate, objective comparison (if there even is such a thing), least of all user scores. Source: read a handful of user reviews with a score of 0 or 10; that should be evidence enough.

Have all the opinions you want about KoTOR II, but let's not bring empiricism into this, especially bad empiricism.

Well, KOTOR 2 is better written than KOTOR 1. Without Lucasarts insane deadline, Obsidian could have made KOTOR 2 surpass the first in every respect.

Main story arc was horrible. The heavily modded PC version is "ok".

The game fell apart when you had Kreia on the ship right away, knew she was evil, knew she was behind it. There was no reveal, no suspense, no manipulation or deception.

Combat was better, Art was fantastic. Most characters were VERY good. I would argue that Jolee Bindo is a better character than anyone in KOTOR 2 though.

Combat/Art is the only thing I think KOTOR 2 excelled at. The art team was amazing.

And what is? Reviews from journalists that receive payment in the form of ad revenue from the companies whose games they are reviewing? Even they rated KOTOR 2 lower.

KOTOR 1 was more liked by users than KOTOR 2. That is not debatable.

ME 3 was the least liked of the ME games. That is not debatable.

http://www.metacriti...c/mass-effect-3

6000 ratings on the PC version.

4000 ratings on the XB 360 version.

Scored WAY lower by the PLAYERS than ME 1 or 2.

Was KOTOR 2 anywhere near as bad as ME 3? Nope (and tada the metacritic user score reflect that). It just wasn't as liked as KOTOR 1.

Are you trying to say that user scores can be manipulated? Yup they sure can. Guess who is doing it? It isn't the users.

http://www.tomshardw...itic,12397.html

That is a FTC violation by the way and should have resulted in a HUGE fine. So do not sit here and tell me that the players do not know how to score games or that they are the ones who are dishonest. If you want dishonesty look at game journalism and the developers. They have flat out resorted to CRIMINAL activity to promote or give their games a better score on Metacritic.

Erm.

"Not debatable"... Do you know what everyone thinks? These forums are hardly representative of anything. A vocal minority if anything. Even the "outcry" about ME3 was a couple of thousand players at most.

One can just as easily say that people loved ME3... if only because most people never actually reached the ending because most player simply never complete games despite enjoying them.

I don't even..."not debatable"

Mr House on Bioware forum. It is Drew Karpyshyn's fault. KOTOR 2 was better than KOTOR 1. Mac Walters who never wrote a novel, and never even wrote well received comics could do it better.

L O L.

Hirohiko Araki definitely could.

Easily. That song is all over the place and has no spacing. no buildup. I think Mass Effect Music blows it away. Also the instrument is not what makes something great or not. You appear to want to hear electric guitar rifts. Here you go. ME music is fantastic, and I do not think they should be looking at genres they have already surpassed. KOTOR music was very good as well, (and they probably had to stay inside a classical structure due to the Star Wars films/Lucas). Bastila's theme was downright beautiful.

*vidsnip*

Somebody needs Ar Tonelico/Gust in their lives. I don't listen to Bioware music every day of my life.

Wait, no, this one is better.

No option for "All 3"? :P

I just read the page in the link and it's fascinating that many people voted against ME3 because it was gloomy.

Wasn't that the appropriate tone for a game with an end of the world scenario? How odd.

I'm just gonna state how SWTOR's JK storyline is the worst bioware writing I have ever experienced. **** me everybody is so retarded in that storyline. Good god the amount of plot holes too jesus christ it makes the catalyst look downright brilliant in comparison. It's too bad since the other storylines have some of the very best Bioware writing i've seen.

JJBA has some of the best written villains i've seen in comic books. President Valentine is what T.I.M. would have been if his character wasn't derailed for the sake of drama.

He's on edge too. JJBA's like drugs. I can't wait to see Josuke in all his animated gloriousness next year.

Let's be honest. If you aren't still on edge for the lack of JoJo anime then you aren't a JoJo anime fan.

So an article/poll with 300 total comments, and the number one comment laughing at this "poll" is a better representation than the 10,000 or more between platforms on metacritic?

Most upvoted comment from that article . "Mass Effect 1 the worst in the series? PC Gamers readership are hardcore plebs."

In fact all of the top rated comments on that page are laughing at the results of the poll. Readers or commentators of the page who asked why this poll was not made available as a poll or a vote on the PC Gamer website page itself? Those comments were deleted by mods.

PC Gamer has also used Sam Maggs to promote only recent Bioware games while not talking about earlier ones. Yet another article with bans and moderators censoring comments, everywhere and any LEGITIMATE complaints were just called racist/bigoted.

http://www.pcgamer.c...kind-of-fandom/

Even with all the bans and moderation in that article, much of it calling into question Sam Maggs as a "games journalist", credentials, if she is begin paid by Bioware to promote ONLY THEIR MOST RECENT games or receiving gifts), the second most upvoted comment in that thread asks where KOTOR is. The top rated comment pokes fun at the story arcs or Bioware's competence in writing in recent games. Sam Maggs is required by LAW to disclose gifts or any payment from Bioware/EA. She only talks about the most recent Bioware games anytime she opens her mouth, only promotes the most recent Bioware games and people are starting to notice that.

I said PC Gamer's do not put much trust or care about PC Gamer or any game journalism for a reason. Thanks for listing a reason why with this ridiculous "poll" in which the poll was so shady they did not implement the poll on their own website, and with results so laughable that console gamers came to laugh at the results, when PC Gamers have ME 3 rated LOWER than XBox 360 players do on Metacritic.

On Steam reviews? Both ME 1 and ME 2 are at 94 and 96 percent positive reviews and overwhelmingly positive. ME 3 is not available on Steam. No I am not dissing Origin. I think Origin fine. Origin is FANTASTIC compared to something like Uplay.

I challenge anyone to go to PC Gamer popular sites like Linus Tech Tips games forum or Tek Syndicate or Tom's hardware and make a thread claiming that Mass Effect 3 is the best Mass Effect and that Mass Effect 1 is the worst. Link the thread so everyone on this board can laugh at you.

PC Gamers modded the entire ending of ME 3 and made Citadel post game lol. Starkid does not even exist. This video and many others are close to over 100,000 and some are at 1/4 million. Not 300 comments most of all ripping the article, poll, results from a pitiful trash "Pc game journalism" site we don't even care about. I picked a more recent one/revision (mod came out in 2012 or something). Search MEHEM mod and you will  find many. This is a more recent revision with Miranda (I never chose her). Heck the mod even has an option for a new fan made ending song (I never chose that either, but I appreciate that this girl worked so hard on it).

So am I fashionably late to the party or just late?

Dear anime fans. We already have a million generic JRPG's with these styles and not everyone likes them. Kai Leng was an attempt at appeasing you. It was one of the worst things in ME 3. Maybe THE worst. Bioware should not be attempting anything JRPG. Asian characters? Sure. I loved Kasumi. I wanted to see more of Kasumi. Bioware already made a GREAT Asian RPG called Jade Empire, and I liked it better than any JRPG ever made.

No he wasn't. He was just another victim of Walter's rule of cool approach to writing.

That exactly why he was in the game, and why he was doing ridiculous cartwheels. Even his boss fights were reminisicent of JRPG's. He just did cartwheels while you fought his minions. It felt almost turn based.

Repeating your argument doesn't actually prove it. I don't know how widely versed you are in video games, but bosses having phases isn't specifically a jrpg concept. It's been around forever and in can often be found in just about every genre of video games. Hell Saren had phases, Darth Malek had phases, even the the Human reaper had phases and summoned minons.

The truth? Jung was a crackpot who tried to relate alchemy and the moon and the sun to his "psychology" and people have the audacity to call that garbage "science". Sorry I am only interested in empirical science, not "magic/esoteric" systems under a veil.

Just go become a rampant pagan and dance in the forest and try to pork some wildlife. Go all out like the ancients. Maybe join NAMBLA like the Greek philosophers would have, since those practices were considered a-ok back then. Bow to the sun and the moon. Have a blast. I will not be joining you.

If the ascetic isn't your cup of tea that's fine but criticizing the game which is an urban fantasy that involves magic about for using a concept that's might not be too grounded in reality seems a bit flawed. Especially since psychology in general isn't considered a hard science by the much of the scientific community at large due to it's rather loose adherence to the scientific method.

But hey I'm sure your quick jump encourage bestiality and pedophilia made Freud proud.
