Have you guys tried the Predator lately? It's deadly with auto-fire.
Predator applies Incendiary Ammo like a champ, which makes it viable. Predator's main downside is being semi-auto so your finger hurts like a mother after you use it for an entire match.

Lancer - I like it; it's one of my frequently used guns, for when I don't want to bother with ammo boxes. (Although the CSMG fills the same role and is arguably better overall.) Sometimes I take +stability with it; sometimes I just put it on a Turian. Sometimes I say screw stability and use it to apply ammo effects.

For PC, I recommend looking into macros. For PS3, a cheap aftermarket controller probably has turbo, and likely "aim assist" on par with BioWare's attempt at an aim assist.

Sorry to poke a hole in your shtick but I don't care what weapons people use, was just noting that I and alot of others find the Harrier to be one of the least satisfying/fun guns to use, and so its not necessarily a major bummer if someone hasn't unlocked it once they're past the stage in their ME3 career where its undeniably useful. If anything, I'd encourage newer players to use OP guns on gold/plat, and if that ends up threatening experienced players' epeens then boo hoo (it means they're pulling their weight). BTW, there are better ways to get attention than unprompted hostility.

I unlocked the Harrier yesterday evening.
I gave it to my QFI, who first examined it thoroughly to ensure that the Illusive Bosh'tet hadn't booby-trapped it, then took it on a couple of Gold missions (Hydra/Collectors and White/Geth). Fortunately, she won the squadmate lottery so was able to enjoy evaluating it rather than struggling though the missions.
I can't dispute that it's an effective weapon, it puts out a lot of sustained damage very quickly. Giving it to an infiltrator was admittedly a bit cheesy, but she is my weapon character of choice, and rather less OP with it than her turian counterpart. The lack of spare ammo only bit me a couple of times because I was visiting the crates fairly regularly anyway to pick up more sticky grenades. I had barrage gear to tame the kick and add a few extra spare shots. The increased recoil in hard cover was really noticeable (and also made me realize that I do shoot from hard cover more often than I thought).
Thing is, after the two Harrier games, I did one with the Claymore (London/Reapers), again with a good lobby, and that was the most fun of the three. I'd done a fantastic Silver with the Mantis earlier; I do think that the one-shot weapons have a je ne sais quoi about them that no bullet hose can compete with. (Though it would be hypocritical of me to claim that bullet hoses are a bad thing given that I use the Hurricane as a crutch on half my characters).
But, this thread is about the Lancer. In order to compare them to see which I prefer, I should do some back-to-back games as QME, given that the Lancer is my favourite gun for him. Again, ammo issues will be mitigated because he frequently visits the crates to get grenades. Should add the Mattock to the evaluation as well, I like that on the QME too, and what is the Harrier if not an auto-Mattock?
Already, I know that I prefer the Lancer's throaty firing sound over the Harrier's phut-phut-phut. The Lancer is a candidate for best-sounding gun in the game.
I never used the Harrier before it was lvl5+, it ran out of ammo too quickly.

I agree, I like the one shot weapons the most (especially Widow) but there are a few times when playing turret is fun, too. Destroyer with Spitfire and Hawk Missiles is almost unstoppable if you manage to secure a good position.

Yes, it really does. With the barrage gear, it has no especially noticeable recoil out of cover (aimed, not hipfired); but in cover, I'd estimate that it kicks about as much as the Incisor does from cover.
