Devs, I romanced Kaidan and all I got was a crappy handshake!! (spoilers)

My game finally arrived, and I played it straight through to Horizon. The Kaidna reunion scene was platonic, no hug and no e-mail afterwards, no "I loved you", either.

This was from my main playthrough, which I played three times, the exact same way, getting up to level 58.  I wsih in addition to the Virmire Choice in the summary screen, it mentioned whether or not  the character was in a romance with someone.  I was all set for the liitle reunion, and it didn't carry over!  

I'll import an early savegame of the same character and try again, but it's a preety annoying bug.  I know someone else had this problem, was wondering if anyone else came across this issue.  And no, his picture did not show up in the cabin's quarters, either.

Well, I'll be romancing Garrus or Thane earlier than intended, if I can ever make up my mind :P, but this Shepard was meant for Kaidan.  

Other than that, the game is amazing!

But seriously, the bug?  If this happens in other imports, I'll seriously be pissed.<_<

Was she "p!ssed" off at you? Thats the only thing I got...



..and later on an email about it. But that took a while. Nothing more :/

hm.. sounds like a bug.. my femshep has a picture of Kaidan on her desk. Out of curiosity, where did you find Kaidan? or do you just run into him in the main game? I haven't gotten very far into the game yet, but I've been looking for him..

From what I understand, none of the previous romance options are available in ME2. You can still run into them in game, but it's nothing more than a little reunion. Instead, there's a possible 7 new ones (3 for each gender Shepard, and one for either) - however, being disloyal will impact things in ME3.

I have a male Shpeard and have now encountered both Ashley and Liara. I romanced both of them in seperate playthroughs, but with the same character. Maybe that is why I have no pics of either but I'm a little heartbroken that I had no happy reunion. They both gave me this "you're such a dick" look and went about their business.

hmm now i'm worried that my fem shep i started won't have liara's photo on her desk. we'll know soon i suppose

She knows that.  What she's saying is the reunion that was supposed to happen with Kaidan (ie: the hug, the "I loved you" and the email after) did not happen.  Instead she got the platonic old friend reunion.

This sucks, Shavon.  I was looking forward to seeing Ash so much that if I'd gotten to that scene (which is awesome when it's imported properly) and it was wrong I might have cried.

Yes, I've seen the streams of reunions where ppl who romanced Ash/Kai get a certain set of dialogue options and a hug vs. a handshake. it's probably a bug, or maybe the fact this particular save is a replay of the same character for the third time.



Once this game is done (prolly by the weekend), I'll reimport an earlier save and see what happens.



When does the picture show up on the desk, btw?

As soon as you have your cabin open, the pic is there- sometimes it's black unless you are close and then the image of your LI is visible - I blame space glare. ;)



If you cheat the picture frame ends up face down on the desk.

The pic was never there. But I imported an earlier level save, and it appeared. Weird. . . at least I got to try out the Thane romance, which is almost as awesome and just as troubled as the Kaidan one.

If you play all the way through till the end before you are about to do the suicide mission, the picture replaces a romance scene that you would normally have if you romanced someone. Its a cute little cute scene though, all sad and stuff that Kaidan/Ash is around. Kinda made me want to cry. Heres to hoping your LI from the first game comes around in ME3!
