A like tae slap a good arse a must admit, an the best thing is im getting to that age where i kin get away with it as ppl just put it down to "age"
Getting auld certainly has its perks
Lol this thread. Jesus christ some of the stuff you people are arguing about could be resolved by a freaking google search.
Awww m8 its a good read on a sunday morning with a wee coffee an a joint, honest ![]()
It is a little amusing yes.
The lack of a response to Astro Boy is in no way conclusive and conclusive evidence wasn't the intent but it does hint there may be a bias of sensitivity to female animations in skimpy clothing rather than male. This silence does raise questions about the motives of the complainers.
The "just asking questions" defense has been done before and it's no more accurate in this instance. This is like saying that if I speak out against animal cruelty that I'm endorsing human rights abuses if I'm not explicitly condemning them.
And as above, there are a number of distinctions between the Astroboy and Xenoblade images you linked.
I don't think it's fair to compare ME:A with PoE. ME will never be that "pure" of an RPG.
That said, there's some really good suggestions in there, OP.
Nor do people wear breather masks in vacuum.
People have control over the costuming. Those costumes weren't forced on the player.
If the player is aroused by the image that is sexualization they created in their head.

And I'm not seeing sexualized content in the Xenoblades images based on a costume. As no one would see sexualized content in a more realistic Astro Boy image unless they were predisposed to seeing it in a sexualized way.
I must now conclude that you find Astroboy sexy. Maker, help us.

The most offensive thing about the close-ups of Miranda's ass is that her ass isn't even all that great to begin with. Now, Bayonetta, Halo 4 Cortana and RE5 Jill's asses? Those are fine assets to have a close-up of.
vile heresy. Miranda's arse is fantastic.
If there is no evidence of sexualization other than what is in the accusers imagination then, yes. The majority of complaints about Miranda seem to be about unprompted and uncontrollable (though skippable and avoidable) lingering camera shots upon her backside that are not part of a complimentary chosen narrative and these complaints are not solely based upon the costume and imaginings.
And the picture being discussed--at length--involves a depiction of a girl in a skimpy outfit with an upward shot of her breasts. Astroboy, in contrast, is infantilized in the picture you provided. The two images don't compare. Whether you think Alan is correct in his interpretation or his disgust with the picture, accusing that disgust of being the result of sexual arousal is innapropriate, presumptuous, and unfair.
This is just silly. What does saying that the art design of a game makes it look stupid have to do with ISIS?
Elma's clothing in the thumbnail is purely and totally accessory. You don't have to put it. At all. It even has a very low defense status, like every swimsuit in the game. But, with this single image of a character wearing an outfit she will never carry in a normal playthrough the whole game is under heavy fire. This extremist behavior is very very close of this guy who put under death menace every people who are somewhat looking not enough musilm for them. Not talking about the "virtual burqua" with all this threads on the BSN wanting an end to the optionnal romance of a 18+ game.
Xenoblade is 12+ but don't have any nacked scene and is not gore or use heavy language. ME, with his 18+, is allowed to go a lot further. But the more I read the BSN, the more I found people who want to ripoff the game of all the OPTIONNAL biotic bewbs...

Typing "Eww..." on a message board is the equivalent of a death threat?
No, I'm talking about an automatic excessive response about something totally optionnal and free to use or not. Personnaly, IRL, the only response I got when I talk about ME is : "Oh, the game were you play a gay and you can see the sex scene? This is a pile of crap! Period!" Impossible to talk to this person, to make them understand it is fully optionnal and that the product got a lot of other thing : There is one thing they don't like about it, so the whole thing get rejected.
I'm a lot more picky recently against people like this. I'm french, and last month ISIS killed 130 person because they enjoyed music and drinking a beer with friends. So, now, when I hear a "What? How come this women is not fully clothed with an inform cape?! Change that now or I don't want to listen to anything about it!" I became more prudent. The SF has a lot of common with the Fantasy, included revealing outfits for the female character. Now it is more and more optionnal and when people want it to be totally excluded from the content it reminds me of this people, here in my hometown, wanting my little sister to be wearing a burqua because she "looks like a ****" without. It takes time but 10 years ago they were just asking to let their own woman to wear this horror and now they threat non-musilm woman if they don't want to wear more ugly clothing.
Now, I became more and more aware of the ISIS preaching : it always begin with a low strike and years after comes the high blow. And here, I say : let the SF girl wear sexy optionnal dress. If you don't like it, okay. But saying things like "don't want to see this because I may see during half a second a dress I don't like" makes me suspicious...
Poor Alan has been accused of so much in the last few pages. Now this.
Disgust doesn't begin to cover it.
something going on in here?
something going on in here?
Alan didn't like a picture. Now there's a debate about whether or not he's comparable to terrorists.
Ha, hahahahahaha. Are you kidding me? Explain to me how a show which is rated R that deals with graphic violence and very mature themes (that even confuse adults) is for pre teen girls and coming of age?
The imagery posted and behavior of those that have been promoting the show seemed to indicate an adolescent level of emotional and intellectual development.
I think ME:A could benefit from the example of Batman: Arkham Knight. Though, to be truthful, I think every game could. Of course, it's a wildly different combat style from ME, they could still maybe use the concept of a larger rogues gallery as opposed to their usual formula for antagonists.
Man... I can't believe one contemptuous comment by me set this whole thing off.
If you can't believe that, you probably won't believe I actually agree with you on this ![]()

Not at all. If you took the time to read my posts before throwing your accusation you may have comprehended the reason for the Astro Boy image was to show that clothing -in and of itself- does not imply sexualization. That the outrage expressed at the image of the Xenoblades character is an autonomic behavioral response not a considered and reasoned objective conclusion. Fight or Flight.

Chess and Go are wonderful games.
RPG's should come with a Sharia law filter. So people with sensitive tastes don't have to be offended, and normal adults can just enjoy their game in peace.
It's not exactly uncommon for that art style to provoke polarizing responses from different people. If the trailer's thumbnail doesn't make him want to look deeper into it, that's not his problem, it's the guy's who wants to get him to buy the game.
I'd say that's a good lesson Bioware can take away, marketing your products in a way that will make your target audience actually take an interest in it.
I mean, the initial trailer for MEA sure doesn't make me think "RPG!" so much as "Fly around in space and shoot at things" I get as much from the recent Battlefront ads.
