For an example, my Warden is a serious and mature kinda guy. And yet, the "experienced" voice set has him spouting silly lines like "My Warden senses are tingling". That bothers me, because it doesn't fit the character at all.
Then I tried the Wise option which is better fitting but unfortunately sounds like an old man.

Yeah, I've struggled with that too. Many of the options have dumb lines.
Female dwarves has nice voices and I think Fenris is one of the male elves. EDIT - He's the mystical male human
After 3 DAO playthroughs I now just go for the voice that suits best as you quickly become deaf to the silly lines they say.
Although my dwarf saying 'can I get you a ladder so you can get off my back?!' was a highlight.

I ignore the lines they actually say and focus on the tone of voice instead.

The voice that suits best in what sense?
depending on the type of character you want to play I guess

My race, sex, and the personality I want them to have. If I'm going to be cheeky and sarcastic, or perhaps strong and aggressive, there are voices that represent those better than others.
I ignore the lines they actually say and focus on the tone of voice instead.
so do I for the most part I'm rp'ing a magethat is young and powerful and confident in her abilities.Using the sultry option it's worked well for me so far.

Female City Elf: Experienced. (I love some of her subtle humor. "Warden senses, tingling!")
Female Mage Elf: Cocky. Always cocky. ("Oh look, it wants to fight!" "Hahahaha!")
Female Dwarf Commoner: Aggressive. It suits her personality, although I wish she didn't say, "Can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?" so often. (I was over it by Ostagar.

I use Experienced male elf too.. it's Mark Meer. So I just imagine him like Renegade Shep ![]()
Experienced doesn't necessarily mean old though. He's still a young hunter... but he's the best hunter of his clan.
I like Cocky Female Dwarf. It's Courtenay Taylor. I can't get away from Mass Effect. I just see her like Jack.

Oooooh how did I not know about this?

I never knew either of them were in DAO. Now I feel like an uncultured fool. I knew about Fenris but I'll never play a male elf (I think he's a male elf right?) EDIT - nope, mystical human male
And damn if I can have Jack's voice...it mystifies me why hearing ME voices in DA and DA voices in ME makes me so happy but it does lol. I nearly lost it when I walked in to Tali's trial and Morrigan and Loghain were talking back at me (well, Loghain on a holiday to Yorkshire anyways)

What do you mean by old man? My male warrior Cousland has the Wise voice, by Mark Hildreth (also the voice of Sten), and I think he sounds young and well educated. My Cousland is 31 by the end of the Blight, but that's still considered young compared to how old many of the characters are. So are you saying your character is 18 or something?

Now that I know Gideon Emery does the Mystical Human Male voice set, I will never not be able to choose it for M!Amell. Because hearing Fenris' voice for a human mage amuses me no end. XD

My human noble, based on me, has a deep voice (Robin Sachs, r.i.p.).
My city elf, based on my half-elf paladin from Neverwinter Nights, has as close of a voice to my NWN character as possible.
My elven mage has more of a... Jafar type voice, based on a mage also from Neverwinter Nights.
My two dwarven warriors have gruff, dwarfy voices, but the noble has a different voice from the duster.
