Now I already know that I'm going to see the people who hate this idea out in force over this one, but if it is happening then it is happening and not much you guys can do about it. Other than set yourself to private and enjoy the campaign single player style.

So before I get into the meat of what I want to see, I do just want to say, this should be more of an added feature rather than one that the campaign is built around. That it should be a good one person experience first and foremost and then we can work on making it fun time with friends. And you know what I already trust that to happen, there has been a lot of things recently that have made me question my blind faith, but Bioware I trust you.

Note: these are under the assumption that it the other player(s) would be able to play as squadmates.

Now the main things I want to see for a mode like this:

An easy drop in/out method of joining games. Someone sets the game to open and their friends can join in, and if you are going to have a matchmaking option have that separate from people who just want to be able to play with their friends. Me for example: I think it would be endless fun to play with my pals, but am immediately prejudice to anyone else, so I would like my friends to be able to come and go as they please without have to worry about randoms popping in. Of course the main player should  have a kick option, but still, preventing randoms from joining while letting friends join without having to stop playing would be awesome.

When a player joins the game he gets to pick which weapons they want to have, as well as assign the skill points as they see fit. Essentially the main player will choose what weapons and skills for the A.I. squadmate, but when a player joins in they are able to play as they want rather than be restricted to what the main player wanted the A.I. to do. This one would be better for those who are communicating with those they are playing with, and would make the experience more fun for the person joining in.

Banter; while I wouldn't let them be able to effect the outcome of the story, it would be entertaining for a player controlled squadmate to comment on what the main character is saying. When the main character agrees to do something dumb the squadmate should be able to say so. I lol to myself as imagine the MC jacking a reporter in the jaw and their friend playing as a Krogan gets to make a funny comment. "They won't be doing any live broadcasts for a while." Again, not really important, but fun.

An abundance of squadmates. Not all of them have to be exceedingly deep, not everyone in the universe has a tragic backstory, and hardly anyone should have a personal vendetta that can be pursued. Some people lived the mass effect equivalent of normal lives until the fire nati... sorry the Reapers invaded. This would give variety to the game and doubly so to those of use who will be hopping in to run amuck through Andromeda with friends.

Areas to change out squadmates while on mission. now this one is going to get some hate, but hear me out, the ability for the main character to swap out squadmates and regular intervals, would suit the hopeful abundance of squadmates we could have and co-op campaign. Again this would need to be initiated by the main player.

All I got for now, stay tune for more exciting half formed rants and daydreams, and remember; Stay Classy Andromeda.

There will be co-operative multiplayer again and that might extend to remnant vault raids but as much as I would love a cooperative campaign with drop-in co-op which let's your buddies take control of squadmembers I wouldn't want BioWare to wedge it in at the expense of developing a satisfying singleplayer campaign if that meant the campaign would be much shorter due to the impact on balancing/testing/level design and less satisfying for singleplayers who are essentially playing a game designed for co-op game from the ground up with bots which always sucks.

I might just copy/paste that into every "Going to Andromeda makes no sense" thread that appears ... at least going to Andromeda is confirmed, co-op campaign is, as far as I'm aware, nothing more than the pipe dream of those few weirdos who actually have friends.

co-op will most likely never happen as it's supposed to be your own personal story.

Wouldn't work with Mass Effect the campaign is supposed to be about your character, having other people joining in diminishes the role your character has in the story and can also negatively affect the story when making player choices (last thing I want to see is everyone getting RNG on a decision if multiple people are present).

While I can picture the idea you have for such a mode, I personally (as a stout multiplayer fan) would have to disagree with said mode's implementation; though not necessarily in the way that many would expect. Tying the multiplayer to the campaign in as structured a way as you're proposing will have the unfortunate side effect of limiting the playable aliens and characters players can choose.

I know that something like a playable Rachni, Hanar, or Elcor might be a little off the wall, but we have a far greater chance of getting playable kits like that if the MP isn't built around accommodating the entirely humanoid cast of companion characters. Also, I want to have a bit more control over the appearance, look and power set of my character, I don't want to be locked into only being able to pick from Miranda, Grunt, or Legion (for example).

If they're going to do a co-op campaign I want them to go all in, multiple protagonists of equal importance who are controlled by the players. If I'm going to share a story with someone I want it to be sharing the whole story not inviting them along to be a removable sidekick of no consequence.

What the OP is describing is way off track from BW's MO in fact it's sounds alot more like what Epic did with Gears and while the  Gears Trilogy had quite a chunky story (for a shooter) it was and at it;s heat designed to be played with mates. ME has alway been about your experiance of  it's universe and a co-op version of the campaign would (A) be a waste (B) remove what makes ME fun and thats going to strange places and civilzations and  sleeping with  of them. Now would YOU want to do that with some rando or a friend watching?

Do I feel an overwhelming rage at the mere suggestion of co-op? No.

That said, if the SP campaign is changed, balanced and made around co-op gameplay, that would be a deal breaker for me.

Halo 4's Spartan Ops. It was a coop campaign done with your mp spartan that took place after Halo 4's campaign. I'd like to see Bio try that (I've wanted something like that since ME3MP was announced, combined with my love for SWToR).

Like instead of just a horde mode making them akin to flashpoints in SWToR, having bits of dialogue, decision that affect how the mission progresses. I think those would be better than decisions about the outcome, that way you have decisions with inmediate consequences but you don't have to worry about branching story paths.

I just want to see none of MMO rubbish in ME4.

Singleplayer only please.

For MMO lovers make ME:TOR, ME:Titanfall or ME:Battlefront. I don't want to pay any $ for the part of the game I don't use like in ME3 and DA:I.

Thankye in advance.

Exactly my thought, a co-op specific campaign is a good idea.If BioWare is making a multiplayer mode like ME3MP, i hope there are more varieties between waves, different objectives and more reward metals, like kill streak metal, revenge metal (kill an enemy that killed your friend), air strike metal, butt slam metal, etc.

I wouldn't mind seeing a way to have your friends play with you in the story
