They might be, if this image is legit. Found that in one of the 2014 articles before ME:A had a name. The red omni-tools we've never seen in previous games. So this must have been an early draft. Certainly doesn't look like any ship we've seen before.

Hmm, never really liked that version in the OP. Looks more like a sea creature to me. I don't think Bio should full on retcon the basic appearance that they decided to go with, but instead spruce things up a fair bit.

Flipping through google turned up a couple images that I think would work pretty well (Along with a lot of weird talimancer stuff).

I like the bit with the exposed but subtle cybernetics that I've seen in versions similar to the first one. And the lore does mention that Quarians receive mild cybernetic upgrades before they head off on their pilgrimage (I think Tali mentions it in ME1). Having that element be part of their aesthetic would both set them apart from other races while still drawing parallels with the Geth. Something like Saren or ReneShep levels of augmentation would be a bit too much IMO.

I think the cybernetics from A plus the general appearance of B would fit together well.

Thats one reason why I think the Quarians wont be in the new trilogy. They will be replaced by one of the new races.

I HIGHLY doubt that and don't assume they are going to make andromeda 2 and 3

Lol, pretty much. But in retrospect, an in-engine reveal would have been a bit more classy than a washed out photoshop.

90% of the nerdrage would still have been aimed at the endings anyway.

I like to head canon the reason why the races are all bipedal is because they are all related.

Perhaps all the races should be remade "pretty" so no one will complain then. Give turians, krogans, vorcha, batarians, elcor, volus, hanar, and whatever else they come up with the "pretty" treatment.  The more human they look, the more special they are  .

I really hope not. Not that I'm a huge fan of what they did, but I don't like retcons at all. Just make the gray humans thing work.

Anyway Tali had those black lines with circles all over her skin. That feels a little bit alien!

I don't get why it had to be a big deal. I don't find Liara attractive (Asari tentacle hair thing) but it's not like they randomly gave Asari hair to make me find her more attractive.

Tali wasn't even gray.

 

 

The whole image is washed out with a sort of grayish-purple hue. That tone isn't her skin color.
