Male Shep's armor is no less form-fitting, but I get your point about there not being a point to Fem Shep's breast plate being sculpted to mimic breasts.

I have no issue with the so-called boob plate in a fantasy setting, since stylized stuff like the muscle cuirass was actually a thing...but with military armor in the 23rd Century you'd expect it to be a bit more utilitarian.

Something similar to this as light armor could be cool:

2hok1v6.jpg

The only details I'd change would be to make the chest armor look to be made of a sturdier material, and to extend it down to cover the abdomen.

If it's not supposed to double as a space suit as well - sure, looks cool.

But an armor capable of EVA in space should be sturdier and bulkier than this. It's barely more than armored clothing.

Well, it certainly looks better and more logical than Miranda's catsuit, it admittedly looks good, and is passable as a light combat armor,

even if the design is not necessarily completely practical.

The closest thing Mass Effect had for this was the Hahne-Kedar armor from ME3:

ME3_hahne_kedar_set.png

I liked how it was veyr light looking with a lot of cloth. If I recall correctly they said in Andromeda you might use your armor over more "casual" clothes. So lighter amor like this might be more common.

Space suits capable of EVA in the future will probably be light. The technology isn't quite there yet, but it should be by the 23rd Century.

Slightly stone-esque, but I like how sturdy this is, and that her figure isn't totally emphasized.

No one shots you on Mars!

I'm fine with skin-tight armor as long as it is unisex, covers whole body and doesn't go into buttcrack - like vault suit in F4.

I agree, if they say that technology went that far that light materials provide enough defence I'm all in - especially after reapers were defeated, we could adapt their technology.

But make it lore friendly.

EDIT:

was looking for light scifi armor without boobplate,

not dissapointed

Augh, armours where there's a design to show off the bellybutton really irritate me. Either there's a cut out, or it's so skintight you can see the indent, or it's metal and a belly button was designed? Drive me up the wall.

oh, and I will say it once again: I want robotic body parts like leg or hand

don't open if you're bothered by nipples:

back to boobplates:

They are impractical due to fact that not everyone are same size and our size might change due to growing up / losing weight / gaining weight - they would need to make special armor for every female and female soldiers would need to change armors frequently. Also, such curves are weak part of structure and might easily be more of danger than actual enemy.

I like idea of casual clothing mixed with armor that was mentioned before.

Love the idea of prosthetics, very cool.

Oh my god, love that outfit. Ruggged but eye-catching.

I'm kinda researching what's people's idea on future fashion and that's what I've got:

it will be skin tights (which I understand due to being far more practical - it's hard to get stuck on door handle etc) but not revealing or revealing in parts of body that we don't care about right now like hips or shoulders only (our old fashion for cleavages changed to showing naked bellies to it's normal to evolve even further) and it's balanced by oversized parts that you can easily remove like jacket so posture looks fine. Pattern can be a bit extraordinary but they focus on neutral colours.

So far i'm glad that none of the armor suits, and pieces in the trilogy were fugly like Fifth Element's police uniforms. Hope they keep this up.

I'm fine with boobplate so long as it looks like the armor is made to comfortably accommodate breasts that are well-supported and held in place by a great bra.

When the goal is more along the lines of lookee the tatas, I find it really off-putting.

Boobies is a better nickname...

But I agree. Sex appeal is much more effective when it's not over-the-top, and in combat sex appeal should not be a consideration at all.

This is why I like this armour in ME3 - it could be any gender really, and just looks solid:

MBzH8B2.jpg

Also this in ME2 did quite a good job:

tyXsQm3.jpg

I thought the armour in ME1 was good for a space suit:

uf9KGcG.png

But lacked a little credibility when it came to combat, it just did not appear solid enough.

Notable exception to the mercenary armour. the banding on the textures giving the appearance of plates sells it to me.

I said it once and I'll repeat myself until they finally add it... if they add boob plate they should also add the peen capsule, since you know, if it sticks out it needs to be covered with something that fits around it

Though I do prefer the heavier armors in 2&3, I bought into the idea that the technology was at a level where thin materials could offer adequate protection. My only real issue with the ME1 armors were the wedgies - other than that, they looked very comfortable and utilitarian.

You can have any color you want, as long as its black!

I always choose black. I also make the color as dull as possible.

Granted, but they didn't give the impression say that shep could be hit by falling masonry and not be hurt - there was nothing solid there.
I always got the impression most of the protection comes from shields, lore or no.
Granted that is light armour, but you would still expect something tough - it looks like canvas most of the time.

I mean, unless we're getting a male companion who gets horny during fights, I don't see the point.
