Oh man. That photograph has been my wallpaper for at least the last eight months. I'll never know what it feels like to knock off from work and head to the Cupola module for some R&R, but I can always imagine.

Regardless of how companion customization is handled, I hope all squadmates have optional helmets this time around. Mass Effect 3 did a better job than Mass Effect 2 of having the squadmates armored up appropriately, for the most part. The only exceptions were Liara and Javik, who did not have helmets for any of their armor choices. Seeing a character run around on the surface of Mars with only a breath mask kills immersion a bit.

Also, helmets just look cool.

That is a truly amazing photograph.

There are a lot of awesome photographs from the International Space Station, but that one might be my favorite.

I wouldn't make them optional but otherwise agree.

Mandatory helmets? Well I'm not sure how the Screenshot Guild would react, but I'm with you.

As a member of the screenshot guild, I oppose mandatory helmets in most conversation cutscenes.

But I also think breather masks in space are silly.

I also hope that the game follows in ME3's footsteps by giving both the player character and companions different clothing to wear while off duty, in whatever hub is replacing the Citadel. Besides adding to the immersiveness of the game by making these characters seem like real people who do things real people do, it just looks better than seeing some clown at the bar in full battle rattle.

The narrative aesthetic in the latest N7 Day video is neat. More of that would be so cool.

Finding girl in heavier armor is impossible if you're looking in sci-fi. It's mix of bondage with few armor plating on arms. If you want to be desirable it's great but with this much of coverage you will be only desirable for necrophils because you will be dead! Perhaps I'm just picky and future is bdsm. :|

It's not impossible. There are some sci-fis that do it, like the Halo franchise or the Starship Troopers franchise(other than the live action movies but they wanted to have the power suits but couldn't with their budget).

Nice and double nice ... I agree! No mandatory helmets in conversations and yeah .. breather masks were silly but they also had sound effects in space so that was silly too xD but I guess a space fight without sounds would be a little boring

I agree with most of this thread. Also, can we have the old biotic aura effect back?

Spoiler

In ME3 it has been reduced to a faint blue glow that doesn't look nearly as cool.

Found gifs fanmade for ME4 long before MEA announcment. They are great aesthetic and need to be kept!

Speaking of hairstyles - I'd like to see some longer styles on males.

It could be fun, too, to have a color wheel for hair. The Sims 3 offered the ability to choose 4 different haircolors - main, roots, tips, and highlights - all from a color wheel.

A colorwheel for armor / clothing would be nice, too. We certainly had a nice variety of color options available in ME3, but I wouldn't mind having even more.

And I'd love to have more available in terms of body model. The female models used in the series thus far had fairly wide hips and not much muscle. I would choose a leaner, more muscular, more athletic looking model if one were available.

heavy armor is the gift wrapping and unwrapping stuff is half the fun!

ITA. It's one of the reasons that I don't generally find a steady stream of form-fitting, skin-baring clothing especially sexy. I'd rather have a package to unwrap, and something left for my imagination to do.

So much this. I would have loved having that option in DAI. The tinting table was a huge improvement, and yet it still seemed a bit of a step back from the customization that was possible in ME3.

I liked some of the helmets where you could see the face as well. N7 armor's less covering helmet and Inferno armor's helmet are both like that and those were my most used armors in ME3.

Inferno was this one, you could see the expressions and Shepard's face quite nicely through the glass: http://vignette3.wik...=20120314183752

So I find something like this being nice middle ground that works for me, though being toggle helmets on and off would be nice in ME:A of course, to give people what they want ^^

How about...

A beauty/barber shop that would allow you to change hairstyle and color at any point during the game?

A tattoo parlor?

Some way to add scars. It could enhance role-play to add a scar after a particularly tough battle.

You're saying what I'm thinking.

BioWare shouldn't stop there they should have product placement too. It would so improve role play. How are we suppose to know how great our character is without product labels. It's the only way everyone on the ship and aliens can know how cool and stylish Ryder is if they are outfitted in genuine top quality products. A PC of real substance.

I'd like to see the female equivalent of James Vega ... this hardass, weightlifting, woman that takes no **** from anyone. I know a female Marine like that and she's AMAZING!

AND HELLZ YES for a tattoo parlor!

Several more, and ideally more life like, hair options than Bioware has done in any game before. It would be nice if we could have a few options that are exclusive to the protagonist.

As far as the hair suggestion, it would be nice if this game could add Tress FX 3.0 to the game. Will probably be an AMD game (EA are usually AMD, like Ubisoft is Nvidia) and we will have Deus Ex out by then and they can see if it as performance agnostic (AMD/Nvidia) as it is said to be. Rise of the Tomb Raider uses it as well.

I do not know if the consoles could use it though depending on how hard they push Frostbite and how open the world is. Might already be too strapped for it. It looks really nice on Rise of the Tomb Raider though. Might also be hard to add it to Frostbite, but maybe the new GPUOpen program would make it more likely to happen. I do not know. I am a tech guy not a software guy. If I remember right it is Directcompute and even the lower end AMD GPU's were decent (consoles have AMD GPU's) at it and 9xx Nvidia are good at it as well. Starts at 2:46 in.

Bahahaha

Honestly I realize I'm a little disproportionately vocal about it on the forums, but BioWare is the only company that is anywhere near creating a major gay male character that I can relate to. Including BioWare, they're almost always a mage or rogue archetype too. Where's that stoic front-line badass gay soldier I'm looking for?

I love the Dorians of the world, but I need more Kaidans with the above modifications. Preferably looking like that guy.
