Honestly I realize I'm a little disproportionately vocal about it on the forums, but BioWare is the only company that is anywhere near creating a major gay male character that I can relate to. Including BioWare, they're almost always a mage or rogue archetype too. Where's that stoic front-line badass gay soldier I'm looking for?
I love the Dorians of the world, but I need more Kaidans with the above modifications. Preferably looking like that guy.
Possibly in the minority here, but I'd actually like to see a less polished, more rough-edged and 'dirtier' overall aesthetic to the game (think of something like the Nostromo from Alien). When Star Trek: Voyager finished its run, I remember that one of the common criticisms was that for a show about being lost millions of light years away from home, everything looked awfully clean. The USS Voyager looked brand new seven years into its journey, and that seemed incongruous with what the show was about. I like the idea of the aesthetics of ME:A reinforcing the situation of its characters: That they're desperate and alone in a very unfamiliar and dangerous place.

This was something I was really enjoying in BSG. All the crap the Galactica went through was taking a serious toll to the point where they had to leave the ship. I'd love to see the ship start to show its age as it goes through the wringer.

A grittier, more weathered aesthetic isn't generally my favorite kind, but it does seem like it would be more appropriate for this story.
On the other hand, I'm hoping that in Andromeda, there happens to be a species even more advanced and sophisticated than any of the ones in the Milky Way. It would make for a cool contrast if we have something sturdy but increasingly more battered and derelict, while they have something gleaming and pristine.
I know I'd prefer that a lot more than us vs. less advanced indigenous people.

I think aesthetics are a really important aspect for the re-playability of any game. If I love seeing certain aspects on my screen, like the landscape, or I think the characters look amazingly realistic I will keep on coming back to a game.
I think the hair options are truly critical for making unique characters, and for liking the character I create. I think neatness and varying lengths are major aspects; I don't want the hair to look like last minute slapped on additions, and I definitely don't want sideburns or shaved bits to be on every available style ala Inquisition.
Armour customization is great, I loved the possibilities in the previous games, so I hope it's just as good in this game.
I'd especially love to have some control over the design of the ship, but I'd rather that go on the backburner if other elements are at stake.

I think this is a brilliant idea, I'd love to come up against a super advanced race; it would feel less like a Columbus journey then.

Same, all around. I wish I had an altogether better understanding of how coding a game actually works, because I'm trying to temper my hopes based on what's plausible. I'd love life-like, moving hair, but the fact that I've never encountered it on a customizable protagonist makes me suspect that it isn't doable right now.
I'd love to be able to change the design on my ship, but I really don't want that to be focused on if it's accompanied by what I'd consider shallow combat mechanics.
I'm going to paste a comment from another thread, because I think these two videos should be in here too.
I only worry about two things when it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda
Character Creation
The ability to show change in a characters appearance based on story events
I have never played a fallout Game until FO4, and I didn't care for the others mainly because of graphics. I know people would have issues about that because a lot of people believe gameplay is what makes a game, not it's graphics.
But understand that to me, style and graphics mean everything to me. The other Fallout games just didn't have any style or graphics that peaked my interests.
The only reason I liked FO4 and played the living crap out of it was because of its Character creation.
To me Character creation, especially a well developed one like EVE Online MMO and Black Desert MMO, is like the pinnacle of everything and all things good in games( in my opinion, excluding games like the Uncharted series and so on.)Through the gift of modding you could do so much more, and if the character creation is up to par you can do wonders.
Luckily Game developers are realizing the creation system in those two MMO's are the future when it comes to character creation. Why? because it allows you to adjust the smallest details on faces and bodies. Games that are now using this system includes the following:
FALLOUT 4 and the Latest SIMS Game.
In Fallout four you can make your character much more unique then you could ever in the mass effect Trilogy.( excluding mods)
DAI Definitely improved which made me so happy.
But what Makes Fallout4 more advanced than others besides the MMO's, is that if you have a pc you can perform character creation where ever and whenever you are in the game. So if in my case I was going on a secret mission against the Brotherhood( A faction you can join inn the game), I would change my hairstyle, add some trench warfare paint, radiation dust and war tattoos to make the event see more dramatic. After I was done, I would take that all off and maybe put a new scar on my face to show that I actually got hurt.
If I can adjust the way my character looks throughout the game( not just armor and the mako) but like scars, hair length, eyeliner, beards, and tattoos. If their Character creation is more advanced if not the same as DAI then I will consider ME:A more important than any game, even more important than Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3.
I'm sorry for this being long, If you have read ally the way up to this point thank you. I just believe this is an issue that hasn't really been discussed when it comes to this game.
What is your thoughts and what type of character creation would you like in MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA.
Here are two links to EvE Online and Black Desert Character Creation basically explaining why these are the highest level of creation up to this point.
Black Desert:
Eve online:
If Andromeda could do anything like this, I could literally create me in the game!!

More advanced than FO4. I think I recall that that Castlevania: LOS didn't do a terrible job, but I played that some time ago so I wouldn't be surprised if I were to go back and find out that I'm remembering it as more real looking than it was. I'm playing a DLC for Arkham Knight right now, and Batgirl's hair moves pretty well. It's not perfect, and it looks a little less real than everything else about her, but it's miles ahead of Bioware's hair.
But again, I'm cautious about that request. If having moving hair is that much more difficult to code with a customizable face model, which I suspect it is, then it's not a part of my wish list I place a big priority on. I think they ought to improve on variety first.
From the beginning of ME1 to the end of ME3 Mass Effect always lived up to the Glory of Space, to the extend that even the great universe recognize that fact:
A very beautiful homage from space to the trilogy.
I have no doubt Andromeda will keep the tradition going, and with the new engine it will be amazing.
Finding girl in heavier armor is impossible if you're looking in sci-fi. It's mix of bondage with few armor plating on arms. If you want to be desirable it's great but with this much of coverage you will be only desirable for necrophils because you will be dead! Perhaps I'm just picky and future is bdsm. :|
Sorry for no pictures but as I recall, an old game, Hellgate: London, had some rather nice looking heavy armors for both male and female. Would not mind similar armor in ME.
I just want to wear the same damn armor as guys.. sports bra goes on, the boobies are hugged tightly so there is no bounce or chaffing going on, armor goes on over it. Done. There is no need for armor that hugs dem curves ... the only armor I need is the one that stops the bullet that's trying to kill me. My character can be vain on shore leave

Ah Hellgate, such a great looking trailer, and such a horrible game...

Armored boobies are probably a lesser offender of logic than catsuits and breather masks in space... But yeah, I agree.

ugh yeah the catsuits plus cam.el toe (can't believe that gets ** out lol)... what a view. Or Samara and her plunging neckline, Matriarch Benezia and her "I don't even know how that dress is staying up" outfit ...

Given that exploration (more than ever) will be an important focus for the game, I'd expect Andromeda to deliver a variety of very different looks to the player.
EDIT: I'm totally with those calling for a better character creator.

I don't know about that as the MMO Skyforge hair moves as you do. It may be possible although they may restrict it to characters that have longer hairstyles or maybe even just the player character like Tomb Raider's is.. I think the one thing that might help is the fact that the CC only has to worry about humans this time and the fact that also unlike DAI it won't be held back by the last gen systemsso hpoefully it won't get held back too much. I believe it's possible and of course BW got 1 stop closer to achieving that by having your armour move and blow about in the wind a bit in DAI

"There is no need" is by no means enough reason to not have it in the game, especially when it will garner attention, publicity and even controversy, as it continuously does.
if the game was made on the basis of "there is no need" then we might as well purchase a blank disk and be fine with that.
understand that from big things to little things, as long as it will attract interest, and promote sales, you can bet it is an option Bioware is considering to have in their game.
honestly i couldnt care less about armored boob plate vs no boob plate. either case will never be a premise upon which i will decide whether to buy the game or not.
being concerned about the game having choices that do not matter at all/deus ex machina endings/return of starbrat/throwing narrative coherence out the window 5 minutes before the game ends, is what is more important to me.
