Scenery.

*snip*

These remind me: I think it would be cool if, aboard the ark ship, there's different looks to suit the population in a specific area. There could be an area where more opulent passengers dwell, and everything is clean and gleaming. Then there could be an area where things are a bit grungier.

Also, perhaps some aethestic differences from the various races/species that are on the ship? I liked the art collection during Kasumi's loyalty mission, because it had a few different pieces, like the statue of liberty for humans, some stone tablets for quarians, those weird sculptres for turians. It just adds a little flavour.

I feel like anybody coming on such a long mission would want to bring a bit of their home culture with them.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd imagine that leaving their home behind so entirely would just make them cling to their culture more fiercely, and that any designs and objects of cultural significance would become deeply precious. I wonder how big the ship will actually be, because I could see there being different sections predominantly populated by a specific species.

They've never really delved all that deeply into the differences between the architecture favored by the different species. It might be too late for that now, but they could do something with the art and relics they carry with them. It would be cool if a Turian's living space showcased a different design aesthetic than an Asari's.

If it looks like SW:BF i be more than happy, but i have said it for a long time now, BioWares "aesthetics" department is severely lacking (same with there animations an cinematic) an once i asked them about there aesthetics on twitter an the reply i got was "aesthetics is not very high on our list" so yeah i do not expect any improvement any time soon from them.

DA:I was a huge let down for me in this department, but they was learning the FB3 an breaking new ground for other developers (other than dice) so i expect an huge improvement in ME:A to everything wee seen in DA:I

Do you recall which Dev said that aesthetics are not very high on their list?

Space is beautiful, so I hope the devs provide some opportunities to experience that vicariously through the game's space explorer.

On that note it would be cool if the ship's windows had a stunning planetary view, similar to this:

20j323b.jpg

Seems to me that this would be a great type of scene for the protagonist and the Love Interest, or with other squad mates to have a conversation.

Recall in ME-1 when Ashley/Kaiden looked out the port window as they approached the Citadel for the first time - with awe and wonder at the scope of the facility.

At the end of Halo 4, Master Chief was looking out of the ship's panorama window looking at earth, while Commander Thomas Laskey came briefly to pay his respects and empathize with MC's loss of Cortana. This had a gorgeous view of earth from space. I could even see my home state of Michigan and the Great Lakes.

Han - how did you create this amazing graphic? Beautiful.

Good graphics and design can really help build atmosphere.

I like atmosphere, but in the 2015 Andromeda preview E3 trailer I felt there was way too much atmospheric haze.

And sometimes there's too much glare.

I recall in the Ashley's scenes in ME-1 (at her station) there was a blue light in the lower left side of the view that I found irritating. Views looking out of the Citadel into space had a lot of glare as well, which I tried to control in the in-game settings and with my video graphics card settings, but had no success.

I'm not Han, but I can say that that's an actual photograph. It's from the International Space Station.

Is there a help link explaining how to show/hide pictures in a post? and insert pix behind this button in your comment?

I can't figure out how to do this in reply options. Thanks

I use the spoiler tag coding.

But without the spaces.

I'm not sure what you mean by "without the spaces."

Are the pictures inserted between the two tag codes?  Or as a hypertext link to the image source?

I tried this and a pop-up said I have up upload pictures "to the forum", so how do I upload pix?  In my profile page, I don't see where I can make a folder to hold my pix.

Thanks for your help.

May I also mention that I find your comments always interesting. Thanks for liking mine as well.

They are. I personally use photobucket.com, copy the direct link, and then add image coding around that:

[ img ]

[ / img ]

So, to spoiler tag an image, I have to do all this:

[ spoiler ]

[ img ]

[ / img ]

[ / spoiler ]

...which is a bit annoying.

I don't think there's actually a way to upload it directly from your computer to the forum, despite what the confusing pop ups say. I was in the same boat a while back, and this is how I was told to do it.

Thank you very much! The sentiment is reciprocated.

I'm not having success. Can you (or someone) type out the entire coding text showing exactly how this is done with a picture source link text included.  I've looked at this Bioware Forum help page and I'm still confused.

My sincere apology to using this thread to ask for help. I have three pix I'm looking forward to posting in this thread.

If you want to hide something, type:

[spoiler]

then have the picture or videoor text or whatever in between it and the bottom one

[//spoiler]

but have only 1 / in the bottom one.

You have spaces where there shouldn't be. The [ and ] should be connected to the word, like [this] and [/this].

Do that and your post will turn out like this:

For an aesthetic example using a NASA photo, I think this pic looks amazing for the triple reflection effect.

This is what I typed:

Spoiler

The pic did not post, obviously. Neither did the Show/Hide button.

Clearly I need more help with posting a pic in a Spoiler [show/hide] format.

Also if you are hiding an image in spoiler tags, you can just paste the image in rather than doing the [img][/ing] thing.

@Khrystyn

It looks like you're adding spaces to your coding.

Here's two examples with and without the final square bracket.

You could also toggle the silver switch icon in the upper left corner of the message area to see the coding in a quoted post for reference or to copy paste for use.

I just use that.

I'm so sorry, Khrystyn. I've made a poor showing of helping you. You've almost got it.

So when I said, "without the spaces," I meant that you set up the coding like this:

[ img]img://blahblahblah[/ img]

But I placed spaces in the coding so that you could see it. Remove all of those spaces, and you should have the coding you need.

For the one above, it just needs the second part of the coding to work.

Can't you just press the <Image> Icon above the chat bubble we type in? And then insert the URL there.

Thank you to Lady Artiface and wyrdx for your help with the coding explanation for embedding a pic in a post.
And a big thank you to Hanako Ikezawa as well.

Edit: My sincere apologies. I've had to remove the image I was using here.
