I love Cyperpunk cityscapes.
Maybe that's why Illium was my favorite ME hub, at least as far as aesthetics go.
How intimidating do your favorite villains tend to look? As in, are you more partial to those that look like a looming menace (Darth Vader) or those that look a little more understated and ordinary?

Depends on context:
My favorite Bioware villain is Sun Li and he looked pretty innocuous up until the big reveal, then he put on a suit of armor and started looking like a badass.
Master Li, Arishok and Jon Irenicus. That's a very nice cast of villains if you ask me. Wonder if Andromeda can have one in this level.

I like the ordinary look. I want them to feel and look as human as possible. Not saying that Darth Vader (original trilogy) can't pull that off, but Kylo Ren reached a whole new level with me because i got to see him as a vulnerable person. I do like when the armour, clothing or whatever they may wear or not wear reflect their personality though.
Example - Zod in Man of Steel. He wears his armour when he is the General with one type of powers, but when Superman reveals what powers Earth Atmosphere can yield he ditches the armour for a more light and pratical outfit, like Superman's. As he embraces these new powers he also shows his vulnerability by shedding the armour. I love that transition.
Damn i love Zack Snyder movies.
I've been playing Civilization: Beyond Earth, and I really like the design of the Supremacy units:

I couldn't find many cool images, but I think that gives the right idea. They are very angular and dark. No-nonsense and threatening.
It's not Mass Effect-y, but that's the interesting thing about Andromeda. The races from there likely had no interference from the Reapers, and so it's only natural that their technology looks different than what we used to. The fact that beam-weapons will be in the game supports this.
What do you guys think about this armor?

I'm not crazy about the colors or the bulk of the shoulders, but otherwise I think I'd like something similar.
(I'm going to be out of town for about a week, and I probably won't be on much, so I wanted to show this thread some attention first.)

I don't dislike it, but this I find it too plastic and/or rubbery. I prefer the plate oriented armor we have in Mass Effect.

Good point, I think something like this should fall into the "Light Armor" category.
Any lighter than this doesn't seem very armored to me...
Valkorion from SW:tOR is pretty cool
He really ain't.
._.
I think Bioware made a big mistake with that character and that expansion but that's me.

Personally, I'd prefer it without the square shoulder pads and squashed-looking breast area. But otherwise, I really like the look. It sorta looks like a combination of a combat suit and more normal clothes (particularly the trouser part). If MEA has fewer war themes and more 'exploring the frontier and new worlds', I feel like it could actually suit the protag better than a full Shepard-style hardsuit. Naturally I'd want as many options as possible though.

Not bad, could definitely be a "light" armor for the protagonist. Got some serious shoulder pads though. ![]()

A bit too light for my tastes, and looks slightly.......painful round the boob area. I actually do like the dark colors and plating on the shoulders at least. That part looks functional
What about something like Echo's armor? (from Killzone).
Functional, yet distinctive. I'd love to get my arse kicked (again) by someone in something like that.

I like the armor, hate the character and her 'modern' views ![]()

I think making her more of a nationalist/fascist grudgingly working with Kellan out of necessity would've been better as well, but IMO it's an improvement over previous games in terms of getting at least some Helghast perspective on the conflict (Hakha doesn't count because traitor). Much better than another Rico as our squadmate

Same:

Part of the reason I liked Deus Ex: HR so much.

Kellan needed his waifu didn't he?
But of course she has to be a 'progressive' Helghast and just forget that these people ruined their damn planet after they spent decades making something there.
Story-wise, I wouldn't know, haven't gotten there yet (had the bright idea to start over - it was fine during the holidays, but then reality and 60 hour weeks came back). He really ain't.

In fairness, she wasn't even born yet. Doesn't remember the Petrusite fires of the Terracide that schorched over a billon of her countrymen and wrecked their homeworld.
I'm still holding out hope we get a Helghast campaign in the next game (which I assume will be Guerilla's next project after Horizon).

Also, I know I posted this somewhere else, but I want to see more female armor like the N7 Demolisher:
It's Cerberus'. They are the best goddamn armor designers in the galaxy! I hope their refined tastes make to Andromeda.
