I like both light armor and super heavy "Warhammer 40,000" style armor, but as long as there's some variety I'll be good.

I'd like both heavy and light armor to appear in the game, but I prefer to put most of my characters in the lighter stuff. Firstly, I care way less than most people about how realistic the armor is, which allows me to enjoy putting my characters in cherry red or lavender colored armor despite it having absolutely zero tactical benefit. Let real life combat make the necessary aesthetic sacrifices in order to encourage survival, I'd prefer my fantasy armor to look pretty.

Secondly, I think the perception that heavier = more practical is fundamentally flawed. Mobillity seems like one of the biggest sacrifices you can make in close combat.

After all, soldiers are not bailarinas. Having free-movement is worthless if you're gonna die for the first bullet that hits you.

Because this kind of reasoning--while sound--goes both ways. You can go heavy tank with the armor in theory, and sacrifice tons of mobility in doing so, but as soon as you encounter something powerful enough that it's beyond the protective power of your armor (ike a praetorian particle beam) you have no chance if you can't dodge and hide.

That said, I really do prefer a range between sleek and heavy. Though this:

Spoiler

Is about the bulkiest I'd ever want to see in Mass Effect. Warhammer armor looks weird to me.

I'd still prefer either of those to ME1's ridiculous combat wetsuits and ME2's catsuits. With a few exceptions ME3 had the best designs both light

Speaking of mobility and armor. I think it would be cool to have the option of wearing big bulky amor that has a lot more health and shields and also severely limits mobility. Kinda like the N7 Destroyer from MP, or even similar to a Krogan with the armor replacing the natural toughness of a Krogan.

Here we go:

Spoiler

Pros:

Tens of thousands of shield/health points. Can't be sync-killed. Can rip a blood-raging krogan limb from limb in seconds. Psyker Biotic amplification systems multiply your powers tenfold while your psychic biotic hood protects you from hostile psykers biotics. Even the heaviest weapons have almost no recoil. Can be used as cover by your allies. Incredibly stylish.

Cons:

Hope you like walking, because that's your top speed. Need rockets to jump. Exceeds the weight limit of most elevators. Can't take cover. Everything is now shooting at you.

On a completely unrelated note: Deathwing needs to come out soon.

I don't like the casual look of the armor, it looks like a mishmash between regular civi clothing and a BDU plus the greaves are hideous.

Me personally, nevermind the placement of the pistol's holster, the suit looks like it offers too little protection to be used in direct combat, while the greaves look unwieldy, and counterproductive for espionage. Plus what makes the design look weird is that the upper body screams stealth suit while the lower looks like it belongs to an armored bdu.

I could see it as something SWAT would use in ME, or maybe Deus Ex.

Not an actual heavy armor, but enough for police action. But yeah, the concept art could use some work.

If I were to summarize my hopes for Mass Effect: Andromeda in a word, it would be “Spectacle.” Frostbite is a beautiful engine, and it should be able to do beautiful things in the next game.

I really like number 3, 4 and 5 bar the shoulderpiece. I actually prefer sleek armor/catsuit type stuff. I was so jealous of Samara in ME2.
Truth be told, I don't really care about realism concerning armor in games. If most of what the stuff they threw at us was real we'd all be dead instantly anyway.

I get that some people absolutely hate it, but I for one would really love to have the option for once. Instead of looking like a big old lumberjack with blockfeet whilst the space diva's I hang out with get to wear cool outfits.

Also, Bioware, fire everyone who previously designed your hair options and hire some new people who actually know what acceptable hair looks like. Because, in my opinion, that sh*t's got to go.

So picky. It looks like a stylized swat uniform to me, and I like it. But alternatively here's this bulky thing that doesn't look too absurd to me...well, except for the weird head. Maybe it's supposed to be some kind of mech. armor_heavy.jpg

At this point even FromSoftware designs better hairstyles, and their CC is just awful.

True about DX. Get rid of the greaves, and It seems more like a variation of Jensen's HR outfit.

No kidding.

I find it unacceptable to have just one or two bearable hairstyles in a game. Especially games where, a lot of the time, you're looking at your character in cutscenes.

When I go into a CC, I want to be torn on which hairstyle to choose because most are great. Not going into it wanting to pick something else for a change and then ending up with exactly the same hairstyle as always because the others just suck too much.

And that, is my professional opinion as a hairdresser.

True, a lot of other games offer more variety in hairstyles. That's probably the one improvement I want to see Bioware make in regards to the CC for ME:A.

How about something simpler. Just armor with some fancy stuff. Closer to ME1. Places for grenades, radios etc
