If skirts turned out to be the only option, I would be as sad as I was when my favorite dress in ME2 was no longer available in ME3.

Which is to say, very slightly sad.

On the other hand, I would be very extremely baffled about why they would do something so ridiculous.

I think I'd actually want Bioware just continue what they have done with Mass Effect in terms of main characters. Casual outfits could have been better yes- formal wear for female sheps as well, but the armors were good to me and I don't have nothing negative to say about those. N7 armor was great and I loved how customizable it was and some armor sets were nice as well.

I felt one of the problems with the formal wear for the female Shepard was how it made their arms look a bit wierdly thin. I cannot quite explain it but it seemed odd compared to the rest of their body so I am not so sure it was down to the lack of muscle.

The issue of whether we'll have urban areas at all is one of my biggest concerns. I think DAI had some serious imbalance there, especially considering how much the game focused on politics and government.

I want there to be advanced species in Andromeda so much. I could easily see exploration in this game be focused on nothing but wilderness.

I'm holding out hope that Andromeda will benefit from Inquisition being Bioware's first foray into an open world approach. Val Royeux being no more than a small market was a common complaint, so hopefully that's some feedback that will influence Andromeda's development.

There was one piece of concept art for Andromeda that looked sort of the Presidium, but not quite. There was some speculation on whether it might be the inside of the Ark, and whether the Ark might be the Citadel's replacement.

I think that might have been due to the character model itself. All the female characters had arms that were almost skeletal. It is most noticeable during the romance scenes, less so while wearing armor.

It would be nice if the Ark was a major hub since it could provide oppertunities like quests to help forge a connection with the player and make them care about the Ark and it's people for other reasons than because the game thinks you should.

One of the problems I had with Earth was that the game seemed to assume that I personally cared about Earth but the thing was that while my player character likely would to an extent, me as the player did not since I had no connection to the place: The ME3 prologue was about the most I'd seen of Earth and during the aforementioned prologue, the most I talked to anybody there for was about a minute or two.

Basically, the label of "Earth" could have been slapped over the label of "Illium" and it'd been the same result in terms of me personally caring.

That's not to say it would have made a difference if they'd shown Big Ben being broken and burned by a Reaper since that's not a national icon that belongs to my country and even if it was, I've likely been so desensitized by films that it would not have had much of an impact. Admittedly, there's not much the Reapers could do to the Little Mermaid statue that had not already been done. The poor thing.

Are you refering to dress fem!Shep wore during Kasumi's loyalty mission? Well it surely was lot better than ME3's latex dress, I have to admit. I think next time when there is formal wear or sth Bioware just could give us options though. For DAI option to change beige pyjamas and outfit for the ball were within highest requested things so it would be nice if BW has finally realized that people do want options on what their character wears.

What in the world is so great about gender neutrality? Sounds creepy to me, and not at all natural.

in the Navy's case it's to make the ranks look the same, female dress uniforms are still tailored slightly different to ensure a sharper fit but they change up the hats and jackets. The BDUs have been the exact same for both genders for a long time, same for the work coveralls.

It's the military, if you want to dress up you do it in your off time but not during working hours.

(if you're really interested in what changes and why, which i kinda doubt, you can read up on it in the Navy times)

Hugo Boss did design nice uniforms. On that note, why do the bad guys always get the best looking uniforms?

My guess is that it's because in action-oriented stories, you generally need bad guys to be visually distinctive, so that we can easily recognize that they are villains without the need for much dialogue or explanation. Also, the good guys tend to be the underdogs, which means they have fewer resources to spend on things like cool uniforms. Both of these dynamics are pretty obvious in Star Wars, for instance.

Shitty rehash jobs, and robes.

I guess the mindset is robe and tunic = equal Sith and white plastoid armor equals Stormtrooper.

I'd have gone just the opposite route considering they've been on the losing end of the war three decades, I'd have worn down and patch job armor for the standard infantry, officers who were around back in Palpatine's day have uniforms still but...I'd have insisted on making them out to be irregulars, hardliners, zealots, their fanatics waging a war for a leader decades dead.

I'd have tried to convey that from the ground up in their weapons and kit.

I was thinking the same thing. They're over-attached to the idea of the Star Wars protagonists being the underdogs, the "brave resistance." It seemed very forced to me. Conditions for the first order shouldn't have been nearly as pristine as they were.

I'd extend that to calling the "underdogs" (despite having the backing of the New Republic) the Resistance.

They were too slavish in dedication to the original art style, and while I am one to appreciate good bad guy outfits, it didn't fit well

That's the one. I liked the design, though not the way Shep sat when she wore it. And there weren't any moments outside of Kasumi's mission where it felt quite right to wear it. I would have traded it with that latex thing in ME3 in an instant. I could have worn it during the casino mission in the Citadel dlc.

Because Abrams is **** at storytelling through casual visual medium.

In regards to customization, I would like some customization options to be purely aesthetic in nature. I always hate having to pass on an armor design that I love because it's mechanically sub-par or otherwise useless to me.

So much this. Moving on from a design I like because something less appealing to me is more practical is always a shame.

I'm kinda indifferent about it, on one hand I do like to wear armor mainly for aesthetics but on the other hand I do like to have armor that gives bonuses also

The design was quite nice. Shep was bit awkward in it due to guy!Shepard's animation's, but I think some dialogue indicated that she was awkward in it as well and cause she was pretending to be in party while being in mission I kinda liked her being awkward ^^; But yup the dress itself was lot better than whatever fem!Shep wore in ME3, they should have kept the dress from ME2.

I'd really like armor to show wear, grease, scoring, scratches and scuffs, torn material, basically have it functional but show the experiences of your adventures.

Maybe acid burns, chipped paint, impact points from projectiles, warping from energy weapons or something. Just add in minute details that show gear actually experiencing wear and tear.

I think RPG's should have both, and if you can't do endgame armour that has both then do customizable. Fallout 4 surprised me alot in this regard, allowing you to upgrade alot of different gear and wear armour on top of clothing etc. Not saying Mass Effect needs this, but it would be nice if you could customize armour you enjoy wearing because it looks great on your character.
