1. Finding Skyhold. Beautiful cinematic, the music, Solas voice on the background. It was perfect. I got goosebumps.

2. Meeting Solas in Trespasser. Trespasser was such a great DLC. I loved every moment from it, but meeting Solas was the best moment. Great writing, cinematics, and the music was so moving.

3. Battle of Adamant. The battle scenes, wow. I need more of that in the next game. Epic battles.

4. The Game of Wicked Grace. I want more scenes where you can spend quality time with your companions.

5. What Pride Had Wrought. Because Elves and Abelas :)

Facing Corypheus at Haven

IMO the highlight of the game. The music, the visuals, the atmosphere, all worked perfectly together. Also, Corypheus really seemed like a real threat. Got me so pumped up. "Sweet, the baddie has shown his face and wrecked our base. Now the REAL game begins." Too bad that the end delivery failed to meet my expectations.

Discovering Skyhold

It had a very Lord of the Rings esque feeling with all the scenery, music, Gand- I mean Solas guiding me, etc. Becoming the Inquisitor was also great.

In Hushed Whispers

It was powerful to witness that possible future, I liked Alexius who I found to be quite a tragic villain and the end scene where your companions sacrifice themselves, the music picks up, Leliana goes berserk mode... Whew.

Morrigan and Kieran in the Fade, meeting Flemeth

A tense, sorrowful and fascinating moment where you could really see how Morrigan has changed. Made me appreciate her character more.

Solas confrontation in Trespasser

I always wanted for the Inquisitor to have some sort of closure with him. I think the music was a major factor but also because it was a powerful character moment. It was somehow... threatening and sorrowful at the same time. I was conflicted (which I like).  I was angry at Solas... but then again...  not really. Damn it... it's complicated. Let's just say that I hate his plans but am fully ready to try to redeem him. At least my first Inquisitor is.

  1. The Dawn Will Come- Will always be the best part of the game for me. It came at the perfect moment and possibly the highest point of the game for me.

  2. Facing Cory At Haven- Cory wasn't that great a antagonist, but when he attacked Haven for a moment I was like. **** because, possible Archdemon, destruction of Haven (funny how many times the people of that village get wiped out) and how impossibly powerful he seemed. After his attack and the the song he sort of lost focus because then we switched from him to the elves and he was sort of a background guy who popped up when needed.

  3. Meeting Solas Again- Never romanced the guy, but I adore the idea that he and my Inquisitor were friends everything about the moment was perfect from the way Inquisitor and Solas spoke to one another to the music to the event's leading up to the loss of the arm.

  4. Killing Hawke / Hugging Varric- First time I played this game was when Alistair was the Warden. I had to just stop and stare at the choice I had to make because leaving Hawke in the fade made so much more sense. What made it worse was that Hawke had killed Anders and only Carver remained. I almost cried, then I lost it when Varric started crying. I refuse to make that choice again.

  5. Meeting Inquisitor Ameridan- I know not many people liked this DLC but i adored it, Meeting Ameridan and finding out what happened to him. I was worried as hell because the Inquisitor (ours) seemed to be heading down the same path, I was worried when the final DLC came out we'd have to make a choice similar to Ameridan and I don't think I could have done that to Sera, Cullen or Dorian.

But my favorite moment was the tiny bit of Dialogue where you can admit "Yeah being Inquisitor is kinda tiring me out I wanna retire"

These, well writ. Plus that I've played:
Taming the dragon and Flemeth. Special mention to the game of wicked grace, both Cole resolution scenes after Arbor Wilds, Sera's proposal and the duel and fireplace Josie scene. Confronting Ranier in the jail. Exposing what's her name to the empress. Convincing Morrigan to do what's best for her son and let the other mage present take the WoS dip. Wren's death and the lead up. Cass and Varric's romance novel. Spa day. Happy birthday IB. Faith vs. Fear.

Many of these I haven't played yet: Every love scene because we finally got love scenes. Love Sera and kinky/funny dwarf inquisitor, that's the only one I've played so far. Every romance specific scene, because they're so well done.
All the judgement scenes.

edit: I wish this kind of stuff was the majority of our playthrough. :-/

In no order

- Finding Solas in Trespasser

- Defeating Corypheus

- Finding Skyhold (I include The Dawn Will Come song as part of this)

- Meeting Hawke

- Haven't played this one yet but have seen it in a vid (the mage quest with the old Leliana) the way she sacrifices herself is epic

Really though I think every scene was spectacular in its own way, DLC included, gives me positive hope for ME:Andromeda.

Great topic...

Mine are:

1. Reaching Solas in "Trespasser" (the entire scene, from the moment we hear his voice, onward. Just so rewarding, cinematic and sweeping, especially if you romanced him...)

2. The Iron Bull relationship discovery scene (one of the funniest scenes in or out of a game -- JOSIE: "I cannot feel my legs")

3. The second kiss with Solas/Lavellan (first real-world kiss -- especially the way he turns away, then swoops back in. Woof.)
4. The Dawn Will Come/Finding Skyhold/Coronation (this whole sequence knocked me out. It turned me from a person who was enjoying the game, to a person who totally fell in love with it. And I still am.)

5. Watching Leliana and my companions sacrifice themselves for me at the height of "In Hushed Whispers" (this KILLED me)

Honorable Mentions:

Wicked Grace (I would play a whole DLC of Wicked Grace with these people. Get on it, Bioware!)

Being gobsmacked at the total obliteration of Haven

Cassandra and her secret love of Varric's sappiest book

Saving the Chargers

Sacrificing Hawke

Iron Bull's assassination attempt

The lyrium addiction discussion with Cullen (for some reason, I find this scene really powerful)

Dancing with Florianne (it's just so weird and wonderful, especially if you're a teeny elf girl)

Pranks with Sera

Judging Florianne's corpse

Judging Storvacker

So... yes... I pretty much love everything. <sheepish>

1. I was actually WORRIED about Morrigan and Kieran. Like, seriously worried. I was afraid something would happen to them. I was worried. About a video game character. It's the moment I realized I love Morrigan an unhealthy amount.

Bioware really needs to stop messing with my feels. (i'm kidding biower, pls neva stop)

I was worried for Morrigan and Kieran too. And if you played DAO, it's really emotional and satisfying to see Morrigan so changed and protective of her child. And the expressions on Flemeth's face as she realizes that she may have failed Morrigan more than she knew. Wonderful scene. It always gets to me that Morrigan calls after Flemeth not to leave... yet even though she's visibly affected by it, that Flemeth does. <sniffle>

And three honorable mentions since you made us stop at 5. ;)  Your LI coming out to the balcony after you stop the Civil War, hugging them after killing Cory and then later meeting you at the door to your quarters after the post-Cory feast.  Just really, really nice touches.  These types of things are wonderful to experience because you KNOW they'd really happen in RL - the people who care about you would react to the things that happen around you.

I loved my first Quizzie's final DAI scene with Bull (and was again really moved by her final declaration to him in "Trespasser," when she thinks she's about to die).

Those would be my top 5 but I also love the Wicked grace game, Iron Bull on the battlements if you save the Chargers, Prayer with Avaar woman, Meeting Ameridan, Vivienne in the Spa, Giving Bull a Dragon Skull.

I love all of those as well. Bull's Dragon Skull gift is so funny and adorable, especially the whole stalling conversation as the Chargers attempt to sneak it by him.

And since I'm replying, I've got to add another one to my list... not sure if this will count as a "scene" in the OP's mind but... Alistair and Morrigan in the Garden if he did the Dark Ritual with her in DAO.

That was wonderful as well. I just wish we'd had more of a chance to talk to either of them about it. I liked that Alistair could see that Morrigan had truly changed after DAO.

Solas turns Viddasala into Stone (Why can't my Mage do That!?)

It's just so freaking awesome and scary. I mean, he can now kill people with a thought. Aghghg. But also: awesome.

Beautifully said. I felt exactly the same way. I especially loved that Trespasser is basically the discovery (even more notable if you romanced Solas) of who Solas actually is. So that when you finally meet him again, there are just so many conflicting feelings and questions there. It really feels earned.

In Hushed Whispers

It was powerful to witness that possible future, I liked Alexius who I found to be quite a tragic villain and the end scene where your companions sacrifice themselves, the music picks up, Leliana goes berserk mode... Whew.

Oh, the "In Hushed Whispers" final moments absolutely wrecked me. Leliana just going completely hardcore, throwing herself into the task of dying so that you can change the future... it really moved me. And I'm definitely on the same page with your thoughts on "Trespasser." I love that the scene with Solas is so complex, and can play out so many ways.

I loved both of these moments, and definitely got a little sniffly when my first Quizzie hugged Varric after Hawke's death. It was so sweet. But then on my second Inquisitor (my Solasmance), for some reason I didn't have enough approval from Varric yet, and I couldn't hug him! It was so funny.

I also loved the Ameridan questline in JoH and thought it was really beautifully written and well-done.

In no particular order:

Well of Sorrows

- My favorite thing was the banter between Solas and Morrigan. So much new information about elven gods. I love Abelas and what he says to Lavellan: "'Our' People? The ones we see in the forest, shadows wearing vallaslin? You are not my People." Then later Lavellan can still defend him from Morrigan. After Inquisitor drinks from the Well of Sorrows and they use the Eluvian to escape, I love that moment when Corypheus arrives there and realizes what has happened and the spirit rises from the empty Well to protect Lavellan and her allies.

Meeting Ameridan

- This for me is the most memorable moment of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Lavellan realizing who Ameridan actually is was just so emotional and beautiful moment. When he died it felt like the last connection to her homeland was lost. I love how slowly the secret of Ameridan's true identity was revealed, too. Killing Hakkon felt like bittersweet victory.

Solas Removing Lavellan's Vallaslin

- After learning that almost everything she was taught to believe is a lie, it really feels like a final straw for her to learn that even the vallaslin - that the dalish are so proud about, that marks them as legends among other elves - is just another thing they got wrong... "We try to preserve our culture, and this is what we keep? Relics of a time when we were no better than Tevinter?" I love that line and how she says it. Letting Solas remove the vallaslin feels like Lavellan is finally saying goodbye to her dalish heritage - letting it go, to try to find something better. Keep searching for the truth.

Taming the Guardian of Mythal

- Staring down that High Dragon is my favorite Dragon Age moment. It feels like the moment of Inquisitors story where she is truly at the height of her power. The journey to get there was long and painful, but that makes everything feel worth it. Confronting Corypheus with a dragon of your own is also sooo satisfying. I love the entire final fight and how it all ends, really. It's Corypheus' final desperate attempt, but even he seems to know in his heart that he has already lost. And then after the battle is over Solas finds the broken Orb... another beautiful scene!

Freeing Ataashi

- I'm so happy that you can save her. Dragon Age needs more moments like this and the one I mentioned above - dragons shouldn't just be monsters that you have to kill. I loved The Silent Grove because of Yavanna and her Great Dragons (though I also hated Alistair 'the King of Special Snowflakes' Theirin). I hope we see Yavanna again, but even more than that I hope we DON'T have to see Alistair again. Feels like certain characters only keep getting worse and worse...

1. Nothing gave the chills as when Solas was revealed to be the Dread Wolf and absorbed Flemeth at the end of DAI. Prior to Trespasser my mind was abuzz with so many questions and a sense of  awe, terror and just....hnnnngg. I  think it was the music at the end n combination with how Solas was holding himself (or rather, not holding himself).

2. The ending of the Tresspasser DLC gave me so manny feels. Not only the twinge of mortification at hearing Solas's plan, but a hodgepodge of anger, sadness, sympathy and frustration at hearing Solas be so....desolate about it all. If thier aim was to invoke emotion, they did it.

3. The track from Haven to Skyhold gave a certain feeling of....awe. Not near as strong as the feelings I felt in other cut scenes, but it was perfectly timed and gave me a sense of wonder when I first played the game.

4.The final Solas Romance scene at Crestwood. Not because of what was said, but because of how Solas's face was really showing a great amount of emotion on his face.

5. The Tal-Vashoth Iron Bull cut scene in Trespasser with the Chargers. One of the few cut scenes that had me actually giggling.

1) The Dawn Will come scene, I got shivers when Cullen began to sing...Actually THAT was the reason I checked out this forum, I wanted to see if it was Greg Ellis singing or if it was someone else and where to look for more music by him. If there is any. Love that voice! :) (Is there a reason why Greg Ellis and Jonny Rees get credited for Cullen's voice? Did they change actors at some point?)

2) Dorian meeting his father, there were a lot of emotional moments there and Ramon Tikaram did such an excellent job with his lines. I actually felt the pain and betrayal Dorian was going through.

3) The finding Skyhold trek through the mountains was beautiful, from the graphics to the music, to the narration. It left me with a sense of "WOW!"

4) Cut scene for preparing to enter the Arbour Wilds, absolutely beautiful. From Cullen up on the wall, to the marching soldiers and Lelianna realeasing he ravens. Loved it.

5) Sera kicking ass on Lord Pissbucket. Hee hee.

Honorable mention Krem and Bull before and after the chargers are saved, the wall getting goat smacked and Josephines reaction while reading the charges, the box, streaker Cullen, every newly opened area scene with Harding, meeting Dagna, the morning after scene with Bull...Cullen actually snorted!  XD  Every scene where Cullen got pissy and his nose crinkled..love his crinkly nose. :) I better stop, there are too many to mention them all.  :)

Am I the only one here who likes the Nug King scene?

And I guess many of my other favorites mostly fall in the "humorous" category, I find that these balance the game's heroic tone:
- Drinking with IB after first Dragon hunt
- Cassandra the bookworm

Plus:
- Staring down the dragon
- Adamant, Clarel vs the dragon

1. Cassandra's book reading and when she gets the new book from Varric. i really like that she has a romantic side.

2. Wicked Grace. i wish there were more of these moments in the game.

3. Finding Skyhold and become the Inquisitor.

4. Coming home after you defeat Corypheus.

5. Tame the Mythal Dragon.

1.) Sitting on the roof with Sera.

I admit I found myself mildly agitated by her character at first in an annoying sister kind of way, but she grew on me. Her honesty and carefree personality was refreshing, and the friendship between her and my Inquisitor felt very genuine and realistic. She brought her down to earth, away from duty and the weight of her responsibilities as Inquisitor. I imagine she would've appreciated their time together greatly. If she hadn't fallen for Solas, she definitely would've ended up with Sera instead.

2.) The Elder One's attack on Haven.

It was chilling watching the droves of Venatori/Red Templars/Mages approaching Haven from the mountains. The situation really felt dire. I was honestly disappointed when no such attack ever happened against Skyhold. And then the avalanche.. I had goosebumps.

3.) The Herald lost in the Frostback Mountains, alone and injured.

It was so eerie treading along in the snow as wolves howled in the distance, totally lost and alone, with barely any visibility. It's weird, but it felt so peacefully calm and isolated there. Like being the last and only person in the world. Then finding the Inquisition camp just as it seemed all over. I had hoped there would be more instances like that in the game, but no such luck.

4.) Seeing Leliana and your companions sacrifice themselves at Redcliffe.
"No one is innocent." This scene was what cemented Leliana as one of my favorite characters. She's calm and resolute, even in the face of torture and certain death, so easily sacrificing herself. To Dorian and the Inquisitor, that future might as well have never existed. But to future!Leliana and your chosen companions, it had been their reality for the past year. They willingly died to ensure that world never came to pass. The quest itself really gave perspective on what would happen if the Inquisition were to fail.

5.) Meeting Solas in Trespasser.

I felt like Solas was always one step ahead of me in the DLC, it was exhilarating to finally catch up with him. Seeing all those petrified Qunari was chilling. And wow, did he get a makeover. I also love how Solas's facial expressions and body language change with a romanced Lavellan. The attention to detail in that scene is amazing.

In no particular order, just as I thought of them.

Honorable mention: Solas sadly watching on from a distance after beating Corypheus. Something about that scene was incredibly sad to me.

Only 5? In order of appearance. Spoilered for length.

Spoiler

On a more serious note, I considered trying to pick five non-romance moments, but I figured that I'd end up forgetting something or just not being able to narrow it down to my top five. Maybe I'll do it later, but these still are some of my favourite moments.

I have plenty of scenes in this game that I loved

1. The end scene of In Hushed Whispers, especially the part where Leliana and your team members sacrifice themselves to send the Inquisitor and Dorian back in time. Each time I play that mission it has me tear up -literally-

2. The romance scene between the Inquisitor and Cullen after their night together, it's so sweet ^^

actually I found his entire romance beautiful, I enjoyed every moment of it (also currently the only romance I've done so far)

3. The wicked grace scene, it's so funny (to bad Leliana, Vivienne and Solas aren't joining in, would've been more fun if everyone had joined)

4. Surprisingly...Vivienne visiting Bastien to give him his potion, even though I'm not very fond of her character in general, this scene made me feel for her

5. Morrigan ready to sacrifice herself to Flemeth to protect Kieran, it really shows how much she's grown
