First, armour for classes. I have Drakescale for AW, Reaver and SS but they make me feel more squishy. I do have some blues but for the most part it all seems over complicated. How can I get better armour or improve my current?
Second, I understand challenges are dying soon. It's sad but will the game progression be punishing without it? We usually duo the content but sometimes pug. I don't want to set us a nigh impossible climb.
Third, we aren't sure when/how we should progress to perilous. Usually I go AW and she does Reaver and we can self sustain quite well on threatening. However I want treasure and good treasure. Threatening feels like a dead end desk job with the payout it gives.
Lastly promotion tips? I want to blitz through as much as possible but I don't feel like I have a good enough grasp of the game to just bounce through NM and perilous as a low geared mooch. Anything that may make the grind easier would be great.
That's it for now, but thank you for reading and happy holidays!

Hey there, i may not be SilverSmurf or any of the elites, but i may be able to offer you some small amount of guidance.
1. Drakescale is considered the "best" by many players because of the fact it has the highest armor rating. You will be able to get it after you have promoted each type of character (Mage, Warrior, Rogue) around five times. So i would say hold your materials (you can craft better armor) and grind through about five promotions under each of the Classes and obtain the Drakescale under the characters of each class. You should recieve them in a chest named "Experienced <Class Name>".
2. The challenges will still be around; however, the book challenges which contain the huge loot chest will not. Without these chest you will be fine and can obtain the weapons on your own. Of course the RNG and chances of obtaining said loot will be much more difficult than opening a simple chest from completing weekend/monthly events. Don't fret though as you should be fine!
3. AW and Reaver are more of DPS classes. AW may seem like a tank but because Bioware has brought down Barrier capacities in MP the AW has become less tanky. If you have a Storm pact belt i would highly suggest using that on your AW. as for the Reaver survival is in its kills, meaning go for Heal on kill. With heal on kill of about 20% it makes the Reaver incredibly easy to use and will push you through with little worry. You can get Heal on Kill through either the rings or by upgrades on weapons itself (mage materials needed).
Promotions don't come in seconds, this is the thing that will actually take some time. For you i would say once you guys get the Drakescale for your characters go Threatening from level 1 to 10, and perilous from 11 to 20. I wouldn't step foot into Nightmare until your stats are around straight 50s or 60s, and that would only be if you were going up against dragons for Hakkon Weapons.
Don't look to be grinding promotions from Perilous to Nightmare till your stats are in the hundreds. for now Threatening to Perilous is your best option.
Otherwise if you and your gf are looking to continue playing Reaver and AW make sure you are using the right builds. Here are some general builds for each:
Reaver: http://da-skills.net...010,000,000,000 Go straight for Dragon Rage plus its upgrade, then get Rampage, Next for the two passives on the other skill tree (Grants more armor) then grab war horn afterwards.
Arcane Warrior: http://da-skills.net...0,010,01C,011,0 First go for the Chain Lightning Uprgade then Fade Step with its upgrade after getting Fade Shield.
If you have any other questions just ask right here or message me on PSN @BA_Productions
- Also if you haven't looked at it, here is all the items held within Dragon Ages multiplayer: https://docs.google....v7aWfhI/pubhtml

Recently started playing this (got my gf hooked too) but have plenty of questions. I'd google but the information I find is so varied. So I'd like to call upon the veterans here if I may.

If you need help other than advice(carrying on higher difficulties)at least say on what platform you play.
If you are on PC and somewhere in Europe or NA with great ic,I could help.

I would recommend you to do some Nightmare Fereldan Castle and fight the dragons so you have a chance of acquiring hakkon weapons. I would strongly suggest that you can grind Nightmare for promotions once you have some end game gear (namely hakkons and Physical Immunity Amulet). Gear > Promotion (unless you have like 820 willpower promotes in which case I suspect you can start solo Heartbreaker at lv1) > SkillsPromotions don't come in seconds, this is the thing that will actually take some time.
To start with, nightmare will be tough without the hakkons or a ton of promotions and you will find yourself rather useless in battles. But once you have acquired some hakkons then use them and nightmare is a whole lot easier. I started grinding for hakkons when all my promotes are in the 40s, and by the time I got all my hakkons my promotes were all in the 80s and Nightmare becomes the new perilous. So the sooner you start the grind, the better.
After you feel comfortable in nightmare, you can start to consider if you would like to enjoy some fun heartbreaker games. Strongly advise you to fight the normal boss fight if you choose to play on ferelden castle for the maximum pleasure.

And forget this build until you have Physical Immunity Amulet or a ton of Constitutions. (Or if you have a barrier bot / baby sitter / tea bagger in the party.)My best advice I can give regarding Reaver is this: http://forum.bioware...-nm-solo-video/

I feel like like there should be an if in there somewhere. I still don't have that stupid amulet even after all the book rewards.

Happy christmas and may the RNGesus bless upon you richly!I feel like like there should be an if in there somewhere. I still don't have that stupid amulet even after all the book rewards.
P.S. remember the conclusion we reached on the loot drop mechanics? If you want something, you won't get it. Be it a crescent shadow or PI amulet or even some scrubby low level berserk weapons...

Btw, pro tip, spam friend request at top leaderboarders and see if you can sneak into their lobby and enjoy some fast NM (or HB) runs.I'm very grateful for all the responses. My gf is asleep at the moment so I'm going to ninja on and try to sneakily nudge ahead. I'll be sure to pass this info on. Even if this game seems barren sometimes I can't help but find many jewels in it. Especially my need for treasure!
They won't care because they can solo NM at lv1 easily and solo HB.

I watch ur video and iam carefully choose which build suitable for my +-30 promotion
(and ofc i need some distraction before dragonraging everything)
And i choose MB, roll, DR, and devour
Uh oh, and i use dragon 2H sword , but i also have unique lvl 27 or 26 maul (forget the name) that give 10% chance bash on hit,
Which one is the best?

It must be pretty strange to start DAMP now. Probably the first hour of play would involve opening all the accumulated community reward chests!
On topic, play at your own pace. If you feel threatening is becoming easy then bump it up to perilous.
For best loot, you want to boost your loot score (the quality of your loot is dependent on how many chests you have opened over your career, in game and in stores). The highest loot tier is 10,000 chests opened for perspective.
For fastest promotions, you want to play in the highest difficulty you can complete. If that means riding a few highly promoted players, then so be it.
Use the challenges as motivation and to try out new weapons, classes.
I wouldn't grind nightmare FC at this point. Your loot score is likely not high enough to have a decent shot at hakkon weapons, and the gold/xp payoff is less in FC for the amount of time that map can take. Play it for fun or as a challenge but don't grind it, you'll burn out for likely little reward.

Use to be able to say that promotions didn't matter on PS4, just need skill to jump to Perilous. But with the exodus of the old guard and influx of new players, its been harder and harder to PUG perilous well at least when you try to bring in anything under level 10. If you want to do Perilous, find a crew basically.
Focus on raising your cunning quick as possible, the bonus to crit chance and range defense will make life a lot easier.
Dragonscale gives the best armor rating, so just slap on some mods on them and you're set.
