Because of the powerful combination of throwing blade upgrade + Flow of battle, one can stack your damage up indefinitely using SS. And I thought, is there a way to make use of all the wasted damage potential? After all, you don't need that 13k per throwing blade on some random foot soldiers.

And audacity came across my mind!  B) Your explosion on kill damage is based on your killing blow, so if you kill an enemy with a 13k throwing blade, this damage can be translated into a big boom instead of simply wasted on a dead carcass  ;) Saving you the effort of stacking up the damage all from scratch again once you moved onto another mob.

The explosion will be powerful enough to 1 shot everything around the target, causing more secondary explosion. Even the secondary explosion can potentially 1 shot enemies. Massive aoe wipe!

This will only work in NM and HB because in Peri the enemies just don't have enough health to let you build up your damage.

The most profitable enemies I found so far: NM saarebas which gave me a 32k explosion (managed to chip in quite a few hits while he's in god mode), and the chain reaction it caused got me 14 kills at once and wiped a whole cluster.

How to profit:

Equip Hakkon on mainhand, audacity offhand.

Start a NM / HB match.

Pick on the toughest target you can see (namely brutes and Saarebas etc)

Stack up your damage by utilising / exploiting throwing blade upgrade (would be of little interest without a strong killing blow. 10k should be easily achievable if you exploited, I mean utilised, throwing blade upgrade well.)

Boom. Boom. Boom. Chain reaction. Here is your 20k aoe explosion from those brutes.

How do you utilize the throwing blade upgrade well?

Don't forget the glitch that allows Hidden Blades to take advantage of the damage scaling of Throwing Blades :wizard:

So does the debuff last until the target is killed, or does it time out?  Is there a cap?

I was soloing some perilous inferno dragons last week to finish that challenge off and SS killed them pretty quick, but it wasn't like I ever got eleventy billion damage or anything.

Send up the SilverSmurf signal for this.
But I think the buff keeps going as long as you keep hitting the target.

Sunder effects from throwing blades upgraded is extremely op and game breaking.

I'm wondering what the sunder % is from the first blade to the last because equipping sunder gear (belt, rings, weapon upgrades) does not give you the same dmg numbers or the same lasting duration.

Don't stop your attack chain. Throwing blade followed immediately by Hidden blades / spinning blades, then follow by another throwing blades, Hidden blades / spinning blades, rince repeat. Just don't stop hitting that mob otherwise the damage bonus will reset.

Don't forget the glitch that allows Hidden Blades to take advantage of the damage scaling of Throwing Blades  :wizard:

You can take advantage of this glitch with any attack. Spinning blades, charging bull and auto attacks included but they are harder to chain up compared to hidden blades.

The debuff resets when:

1. you hit something else besides your initial target with throwing blades

2. you broke your attack chain and stopped stacking up the damage

The debuff I believe is only intended to apply for the duration of throwing blades but it appears to last longer than it should and any continuous attack will refresh the debuff duration.

As of caps, there is non. But there is a soft cap depending on enemies' health. They tend to die too faster before you reach 11 billion... The highest I reached is from NM dragon with 48k killing blow when we did an insta kill and killed him before he could take off. HB dragon may offer more but I haven't tried it myself.

Far worse, but I would like to consider it working as intended + clever use of game mechanic :P

Good thing there is no more updates :) If they were to ever nerf throwing blade, I don't think I could ever play SS again...

Hunter's Full draw + Tezpadam's Bane is no match for SS' throwing blade + audacity. Because for hunter:

-you don't get to spam full draw and stealth all the time

-you won't ever get 20k and 32k chain explosions either, even though Tez gives 150% explosion instead of 75%. The killing blow damage scale is simply disproportioned.

We tried this a lot, but never saw the kind of damage output Jia always reports.

So who knows, if it works for him great, working as intended etc etc.

Lol maybe smurf has too many promotions

Damage stacking don't tend to be the issue. The issue tends to be the enemies' lack of health.

Willpower promotions seem somewhat overrated in terms of dmg/attack output compared to the numbers being put out with throwing blades upgraded, what's crazy is the effects/duration of sunder from hb blades benefit the whole team and they stack. Saw a katari put out 34k pommel strike from having one silent sister in the group.

I've seen it a few times it's definitely unintentional to see dragon rage rage hit for 13-14k after silent sister throws upgraded hb blades.

"Yo, dawg heard you have like 500 willpower promotions..

But sister is dealing out throwing blades+hidden blades

For over 10k,

15k.

25k.

50k.

Your way...

Normally I don't play silent sister if there is another SS in the match, but my SS was at level 6 after 1 match of threatening so I thought I will just have an easy support match with only throwing blade (with upgrade) and charging bull.   So treasure room.... arcane horror... 1 shot!   How did I do that?  I can't even do that when my ss is level 19.   Then I found out that for the rest of the match, my throwing blades were doing close to 20K damage each throw.:P   It must be some kind of multiple SS glitch.

Welcome to the SS appreciation society  ^_^

I stopped using audacity on offhand now, actually. Realised too much explosions (particularly chain reactions  <_< ) makes the game very unstable and probably going to cause a crash before the end of the match. My PC over-heats bad enough as it is, and all the corpse explosions just make it even worse.

I still exploit throwing blades upgrade all the time, but not as much as I used to in the past. Why? Well it's just plainly effort... -_- Sit back and chi-lax, watch other scrubby pugs to try kill a NM pride demon with a fire staff that does 20 damage per hit (quite literally) has become my new favourite play style.  :D
