But I'm not trying to impose my wants and desires on you. What's your point?  I

Mass Effect has a very committed multiplayer fanbase,

yes you are but i guess you're too ignorant to know it..  Mass Effect has even more of a single player committed fanbase then multiplayer what's your point?

I'm worried that it will affect the single player, the article itself (however credible it may be) implied that the multiplauer was at the forefront of the games design.

I seriously don't think that the multiplayer will be at the main focus. If it is then I will be very sad. But Mass Effect had always been about the story and characters so I don't expect Bioware to alienate there hardcore fans.

Singleplayer dinosaurs are holding the industry back again.

Sad.

looks like the little snot nose multipliers  are to dumb to play a single player campaign and the holding the industry back again.

looks like the little snot nose multipliers  are to dumb to follow a single player campaign and the holding the industry back again.

They can't deal with a single player campaign that's longer than 30 minutes and if you can't buy weapons with real money it's even worse! How are they supposed to rek anyone without?

What is wrong with multiplayer? It gives one an opportunity to share the experience with friends. I know people are gunshy because of the ME3 experience that it was necessary to get the "best ending" in March 2012, but in reality that didn't matter much then, did it because all the endings were virtually identical except for the color of the explosions on your screen: you died, the relays exploded, and the Normandy crashed. If you played hours of multiplayer you may have gotten to take a gasp in the high EMS destroy ending.

After that ending, I was about to take the game back when I heard the rumor - they're writing a new ending! My entire attitude with ME3 was "Well at least there's multiplayer." I met some of my best XBox friends in ME3 multiplayer. I hope they have good multiplayer support for ME: Andromeda.

That said, my guess is that they're putting a good amount of time into ME: Andromeda campaign. Remember, it could be worse. It could be Activision running the show.

Good for you. I'm glad that you enjoy multiplayer. I don't because there some people, like me, who aren't social and I generally prefer solitude over a social interaction with random strangers.

I little enough faith in humanity as it is and most of the time I've found that waiting for person X to get their act together so we can start the damn mission, waiting forever for 3 people to play with, the party leader dropping out mid-way through the mission, or having strangers yelling at me "You suck! I'm going to rape your mom!"or sending me foul messages only makes me more cynical and mean spirited and I don't want to be cynical and mean spirited.

Multiplayer, has alway been, still is, and most likely absolute hell for me, if I want to talk strangers I can go to sites like BSN.

Hard to tell what the meaning is given the sloppy english. If it is that MP is going to be the dominant focus then that is very worrying.

I've resigned myself that ME Andromeda will have a MP element which i have no interest in but if the main focus isn't on the Single Player story as before then i'll likely pass on game itself

If ME:A is a multi-player game at the expense of the single player experience then they can forget about me buying it or likely buying any other Bioware product ever again. That would be the third of three strikes for me, but I'd prefer to wait for official announcements on the game before I start worrying. The lack of any official announcements though is feeding click-bait sites like that.

What would be wrong if Star Wars: Battlefront was entirely single player?

I might have bought it, and Titan Fall if there had been a single player campaign, but EA didn't do that so I'm not wasting my money on game that only a dedicated fanbase can enjoy because some people can't afford to buy every game at launch.

I don't have a problem with ME3-style multiplayer, i.e. collaborative action-oriented missions that have at most an indirect effect on the story.

I'd be pretty annoyed if parts of the story were only accessible via multiplayer. (Dead Space 3 did this with a couple of side missions, IIRC, which I ended up skipping.) I'm not sure any of my friends have even played a Mass Effect game, and as a naturally self-conscious person, I really don't want anyone else watching and commenting when I'm making dialogue choices or otherwise engaging in the character-shaping aspect of the game. I'd be concerned that they might be going in that direction *if* someone from BW actually said that ME:A is going to be "multiplayer first."

there are just things that don't mesh well ... single player games should stay single player with a small, but well done MP element that won't affect the main game and vice versa. There is no way a SP and MP mesh up game would please both player bases

You mean a square area with bases with the same layout, underground base with the same layout? People remember the Mako and "exploration" in ME 1 with rose colored glasses. It works ok the first play through and after that, you never want to do it again. The Mako is still cool when it has a story line (like Ilos) though.

At least most of the Mako sidequests didn't take too long and had some story relevance to them, and I think at least half concluded with a dialogue scene and a choice of different endings. I'm more worried that they'll go full DA:I and create huge planetary surfaces with nothing to do but roam around shooting at things and reading datapads for five hours.

While I do believe this article is a scam, I also know that with EA it would be entirely possible. On the bright side I have to say EA is doing a masterful work as a gaming company in encouraging me to buy less games. I'm an hardcore Star Wars fan and I didn't buy Battlefront because it is an MP focused game. This should tell you how much I detest MP to the point that I simply lost all my interest for that game. On a positive note I saved a lot of money with all these MP focused games.

I'm an hardcore fan of ME but guess what EA you make it an MP focused game well I'll vote with my wallet and will avoid your product once again.

i wish they'd put the hacking back into the game ... some part of me really enjoyed it even if it was super silly ... they could revamp it, make it a little more challenging and it would be good to go. Better than nothing at all

Go play CoD and brag about the sexual escapades you've had with your opponents mothers instead of making this board worse than it already is.

Is this supposed culture of verbal belligerence during multiplayer gaming an XBox or PlayStation thing? I've played multiplayer on PC in several different game franchises (including COD) and everyone typically seems quiet as a mouse, and when someone does talk it's usually something relatively benign.

They should sell anime like cigarettes with a notice on the pack stating "This product is bad for your health" :P

I frankly don't understand what's fun about MP..you basically do the same thing over and over and over again without story, interactions, emotions....just pew pew pew...you die...you respawn...pew pew pew....you die...you respawn...rinse and repeat...
