I've finally completed all DAO DLCs!  Hooray!  Soon off to DA II, but first:

In the meeting with Morrigan at the end:

1) Was there an option to really fight her?  My first inclination was to ask questions to fill in some blanks and before I knew it, she was off into the Eluvian.

2) Before going, she said she left Ariane's book and something of interest to my PC.  What was that something?  The credits began to roll immediately; not even any final chat with the NPCs or a written epilogue.

3) When I finally saw Morrigan, she had ghostly white eyes.  Was this part of trance?  Or yet another one of my unforeseen mod effects?

1 - A battle, you mean? No... you can stab her, IIRC, but she still goes through the eluvian afterward.

2 - AFAIK, it's never been revealed what she left for the Warden.
3 - White eyes would be a modding misadventure.

I think she left the info about curing the call for the warden sending them to their quest.

I've got a question as well.

Does refusing the DR (and surviving by the sacrifice of another Warden) revert your relationship to friendship status, making it impossible to get a romantic ending in Witch Hunt?

Is that headcanon or something that has been confirmed as the correct interpretation? (If the latter, a cite/source would be most appreciated by this lore aficionado.)

No it's no't confirmed, that's why I wrote "I think"  ;) .

But I remember vaguely her line in inquisition indicating that the warden is pursuing the cure based on her datum.

I may have something later, just need to check on few stuff.

Thanks!  I really should step away from the computer and read some of the DA novels to get a more complete idea of what Gaider and company are thinking.

No. My Hero did not romance Morrigan (turned her down) and yet he still had the option to kiss her and go through the eluvian with her. They had no child together, and Loghain did the UltSac.

If your Hero romanced her, then she has a normal child, and the romance should still work.

I don't think the romance ever really reverts to "friendship" status, or friendship makes no difference, like in my case. Meaning as long as you got her to "love" or maybe even "adore" status, then you can go through the eluvian with her. My Hero rejected her sexual advance and said "I don't love you", but he accepted the ring and kept it (thus getting the ring epilogue), and he gave Morrigan the mirror. I don't remember what dialogue option I picked, but I think it was just a friendly response. It could have been the "its just a gift for a beautiful woman" but I don't think it was that.

I don't think it was ever stated outright, but in DA:I Morrigan states that she is the one who sent the Hero on the path to find the cure for the taint. Since this was not done in Origins, and since they have not seen each other again since the end of Witch Hunt, it means the thing of great interest she left for the Hero must have been information about the cure. Morrigan also knows how to contact the Hero of Ferelden during DA:I. So it is safe to conclude that what she left was indeed the information on the cure and where to possibly find it. This was in a worldstate where Morrigan was not romanced, had no child, and the Hero did not romance any of the companions (married Anora and became king).
