It's a bit early right now. Though I plan on preordering eventually, I'm only doing it after there's more information and details on a CE or some sort of special edition, etc.

Pre ordering is pointless under the best of circumstances. When we know next to nothing about the game? Forget it.

Particularly given the rumors about a multiplayer focus. If that turns out to be true, count me out.

After DA:I, not a snowball in hell's chance will I pre-order Andromeda.

Can somebody explain to me what this level of hyperbole is common these days? I don't mean your lack of pre ordering (I'm the same, I never pre order games, there's no point especially when I get digital copies) but your reasoning behind it.

Mass Effect has never felt like Dragon Age, if anything the reverse is the opposite (with the dialogue wheel making its way into the franchise). Why would a completely separate game affect your Mass Effect purchase?

Huh? Perhaps because Dragon Age Inquisition is a Bioware game? You know, Bioware? Pretty sure they work on Mass Effect too.

If you don't remember Dragon Age Inquisition, I can only say 2 thing about it :

UI who hate the PC player.

Global and total hate against the PS360 buyers whose copies were screwed with every update.

Now that we are totally sure Bioware hate to the bone a vast part of his own fans, we can stay on our toes with their futur release, ME:A.

As Keitaro57 said it is made by the same company, but perhaps more importantly Andromeda is also going to be on the Frostbite engine.  This means it will be great at creating beautiful large open spaces, but unfortunately Bioware have not shown they are capable of filling them with anything interesting.  Also the survey leak (if genuine) suggested a set up where you are in charge of a larger organisation including an equivalent to to the war table, not to mention all the talk of exploring.  It all sounds very DAI like.. which is a problem as most of that setup makes good story telling much harder (something they failed completely at with DAI).

Hell no...

The only information Bioware released about the game is that it is set in Andromeda. That is not even close to being enough to justify a purchase. I'm reluctant to preorder anything anyway, and think it is generally a bad idea, particularly before review embargos have been lifted.

to be honest i dont even trust reviews nowadays.. <_<

plus its a matter of taste in the end, many games got bad reviews yet i loved them, many games got good reviews yet i hated them. i'll be my OWN judge. and that will happen when bioware release gameplay and more info about the game.

pre-ordering video games is one of the worst things you can do for the industry (it only makes some sense if you are getting a collectors edition)

So was Dragon Age 1 and 2 and neither of them felt anything like Mass Effect.

Mass Effect isn't a psuedo open world like Dragon Age and as most game developers show us nobody knows how to fill their worlds with interesting content, Witcher 3 with it's pathetic POIs and bloat and even GTA V (made by the experienced rockstar) had a very bland and boring open world.

Mass Effect at best will be similar to ME1 in that they give us semi open areas that are self contained (i.e individual planets).

I just don't see the reasoning behind such hyperbole comments.

DA:I is the last AAA released by Bioware and use the exact same engine they will use for ME:A. DA:I was full of structural flaws (very very small font, no storage, horrible PC port...) and while all the fans were calling for some update Bioware was happily showing his "Game of the Year Cake".

Now, as a Xbox360 user, my DA:I physical copy works almost not at all. The only way to have a somewhat pleasure experience is to delete all the updates and stay out of the internet.

After all this painful experiences with a 100% guilty Bioware, why must we totally trust them and totally forget what they have done?

For now, they haven't say "we are sorry" to all the PS360 users who were blatantly lied. They took as much money that the XboxOne and PS4 players payed but had only given the cold shoulder. So long, Bioware hate their customers with their guts so, no, I won't preorder.

So I agree with you about everything except your faith in Bioware not doing this... what I fear is that planets will replace the zones in DAI.  There will be more open space as we are driving the Mako between points of interest, but we will be able to go to those points in any order (so no plot development between them), and a lot of them will be from generic sets with similar plots... e.g. one set might be investigating this new mysterious species, and another set might be an enemy base etc.  I really hope I am wrong and you are right, but I intend to find out before buying the game.

Well, can't be worse than ME1's, right? The planet zones were pretty big, and pretty lifeless, which I guess is par the course for your average planet.

Really wish people would stop pre-ordering games from EA. It only leads to the game being cut up and sold to you piece by piece, or the game being released before it's actually finished, so that they can sell you the unfinished parts later as DLC. They do this because of overly excited people dumb enough to buy the game, before they know anything about it.

Just some advice:

You should never show a salesmen how excited you are.

You should never ever pre-order a game, ever! It supports a broken business standard and sets a precedent where they are allowed to release unfinished products, aslong as they made enough money in advance.

Ofcourse this is all up to you, but it is what i believe in. I will buy the game, probably day one, but we'll see.

There's a very short list of games that I'll preorder, ME:A is not on that, nothing they have said has given me any faith in their ability to make a good game

I'll be pre-ordering for sure.  Not many games that I'll do that with, but the next Mass Effect is certainly one of them.

I'm going to pre-order it. But I will most likely wait until after E3 2016.  Hopefully we get some gameplay footage before then.

Eh I'll probably preorder early enough to pre download so I can play at release(when I get home from work) and not release + X hours of waiting. Don't feel the need to pre order earlier than that though. And if looks like ass when they start releasing info I'll pass.

Now that I've played DAI on PC instead of my ps4 I'm kind of liking it. The only ui issue I have is the 8 action key limit. It's stupid for a tactical pause game to have any limit. If intentional they made a epically bad game design choice, but it just feels like a lazy design. I won't say port as even in the PS4 you should be able to have more than 8 since you can pause. So, I'm fine with their latest open world game.

My initial dislike was more ps4 related something about this game style lends itself to PC for me. Oddly Diablo 3 got awesome once I played it in the ps4. The more casual action the more I prefer my ps4 and couch. The more tactical action or precision shooting I want keyboard and mouse and sitting 1 foot from my screen.
