Also the jedi overall seem pretty oxymoronic to me, like advocate freedom and peace and yet fight with a slave army whose soldiers have no say in their lives and are disposed off when old. Or how they go on about love and empathy but whip out a lightsaber first chance someone looks at them funny. The sith at least have the balls to back up what they say. They also get to use force lightning and the force choke!  It would be great if we had similar powers in the Mass effect Andromeda mp.

This new movie is just as bad, if not worse.

 

It's worse then the prequels. No mistake. I wish everybody would wake up to this sooner then much later. They're working on the next movie already, but in reality, this ep7 needs to scrapped entirely. Else there's no more future for Star Wars. ... Wishful thinking on my part. I know. Nothing can save Star Wars now.

 

I should of seen this coming as soon as it was sold to Disney, what with me being a BioWare & Mass Effect fan. Only good thing that will come of this by the book corporate soul sucking Disney deal is if they finally release the original Trilogy unaltered on BlueRay.

^TBT every new SW film is probably gonna get internet nerdrage because it's SW, especially because Disney has deleted the EU and is replacing it with new stuff in the same timeframes.

TFA isn't worse than any of the prequels, really. Bit derivative, arguably, but it didn't get garbage critical reviews like those movies because of their wooden acted stock characters and horrible pacing (Episodes 1 and 2 in particular were like 90% exposition).

OT, in addition to Mandos, quarians would also make the best Sith. We bring our own masks, voice filters and nefarious plans for galactic domination.

While I agree about the large similarities, it was a fun movie Imho. And it certainly wasn't as bad as The Phantom Menace, pls. Ain't nothing that can redeem that movie except if Jar Jar is a Sith!

to continue on the star wars bashing... I just never was a fan....though I have seen all the movies..and played a huge chunk of all of it's video games ( The Force Unleashed series is dope ).... I just always liked star trek more  .....I have seen the new one..the new sith guy is horrible....but his light-saber hissy-fits are hilarious...I wish I could do those at my old job     

 

 Closest of our characters to being a jedi... I am going with SmashDept...... with lash, singularity & smash...enemies are flying everywhere

 

 

side-note.. I have been watching the entire 1st season of The Expanse the last 3 days..I wish the guys that made that show..would develop a show set in the mass effect universe  (not the trilogy) and sell it to either HBO or Showtime... for those of you that have been watching the expanse......It kinda looks like a mass effect origin story, doesn't it?

 

 

edit:  Actually, I have tried to use the force, on more than several occasions, when the cable remote wuz just outta reach.

Dat Darth Volus breathing.  Plus, they look like Death Stars.

I love the Easter Egg where you play as a Volus, use all black color options, including eyes, play on Condor, and when you load into the game, you see tie fighters in the sky, lasers shooting everywhere, and your powers are switched with Force Powers!  For the longest, I thought this only applied to the Biotic (logical, no?), but each Volus has a different set of powers.  Nothing better than Force Choking a Banshee (or your monkey nyuk nyuk).  Payback!

 

If you bring a shotgun with an omniblade attachment, you melee with a light saber.  I thought that was a nice touch.  

 

I also thought that the sound bites they used to replace dialogue was well done:  

When someone revives you after you go down - "I find your lack of faith disturbing"

 

When you disengage a battle and kit, when you re-engage - "When I left you, I was but the learner.  Now I am the master."

 

At the end of the wave, when there is one enemy survivor left, and they get a shot on you - "Impressive.  Most impressive.  Obi-Wan has taught you well.  you have controlled your fear.  Now, release your anger.  Only your hatred can destroy me."

 

When you get a vengeance kill - "No, I am your father"

 

Mission failure - "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"
