And congratulations for choosing an often neglected but freaking awesome Origin. My Lady Aeducan is one of my all time favourites, she never found a problem that she couldn't solve with a bloody great big mallet. Have fun!
Indeed, I did the mage origin first, then the human noble, then both elf origins. Every time, when I went to Orzamar, I did Behlen's dirty work because he was for the casteless and for trade with surface. I always knew he was slimy, but the ends seemed to justify the means. Now as a sibling betrayed, I can't wait to get even! I hope it's more satisfying than killing Arl Howe....
I think it's just re-use of items and meshes that already exist in-game. (Also, FWIW, the Archon's Robe you can loot from one of the tower rooms in Broken Circle isn't restricted to mages. My City Elf Warrior can wear it, for example.)
I figured laziness might have been a part of it...
If I remember correctly, you will keep the blood dragon armor. I know that you keep all items that you receive from playing the DLC, but you won't get to keep any items that you buy or win during the Orzammar Origin.
For the robes and staffs, yes, they just LOOK like mage equipment.
And a little self advertisement,

Hi, MerAnne! You must be the patron saint of dwarves! Or at least a paragon of some sort! Just curious as to how you like the way dwarves have been revised in Inquisition? (No, haven't done DA 2 yet, so don't know how they were re-imagined there.) Here, the long arms look funny but they probably help compensate for the height advantage other races have over dwarves. In Inquisition, they now look like children...
FWIW, I did get to keep all the DLC perks when they tossed my disgraced noble into the deep roads. The Lelaina armor definitely came in handy! A light armor that's better than all the level 1 and level 2 armors available during the origin stories. Definitely helpful for my first Nightmare run-through!
