After a dozen or more failed attempts, trying every tactic I could find around, I went back to Skyhold to try the last one. Have Lightning damage in the party. My Inquisitor is level 26 now and has a pretty decent crafted equipment so have the whole bunch. I had taken the time to do it earlier and upgraded whenever possible.

Being a hoarder paid off. I could craft a few Superb Lighting runes and just switch the runes on the gear of the party I was taking with me back down to the Wellspring. My 2-handed Reaver, Cassandra, Sera and Solas, all with Lightning damage. The fight didn't take 5 minutes. Nightmare since the New Game creation so I never change difficulty.

Problem is that, after the Thing went down, sound disappeared, there is no acknowledgment of the battle being over, characters can't hardly move and I'm kind stuck at it. Sure, I can replay it and it will probably be a win again but this No Sound and Nothing Happening thing is really annoying! Is that a known issue? I searched but found nothing about it.

PS: After waiting and waiting and waiting without knowing what was going to happen (didn't want to restart unless game stopped responding) it seems that game came back to normal. Here's a video of it. Felt pretty weird. (Video is not listed. It was not made to diss' Bioware, just to show the event I tried to describe)

I got something similar, but I think it might be a different bug for me. When I beat the boss, Sera had Lightning Flask active. However, the effect was applied to all of my characters. My mage could shoot ice blasts all over and the trail would stay in the air. I had about 40 trails in the air. Then as I would make a new one, an old one would disappear. It looked cool.

I wasn't too upset about it because the whole battle only took me about 30 seconds on Nightmare. I went for massive damage. Static Cage + Mark of the Rift + (Mark of Death + Thousand Cuts and then Hidden Blades x Offense Tonic) and Cassandra rushing in to do her part. And of course Sera with Lightning Flask, non-controlled, so she was firing off arrows like mad with Offense Tonic active.

It seemed like the thing died just as Lightning Flask expired.

So time stayed frozen, I played around a little, got bored, then tried having Sera active Lighting Flask again. She did, it expired naturally, and then things went back to normal. The game went on for a few moments and then it went to Valta. There was sound for mine the whole time, but I do think the music stopped after the boss was defeated. But then the music started up again when it went to Valta.
